Y2J vs HBK...Wrestlemania?

At the end of Steve Anderson's new column about Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels' feud being epic, he says WWE should continue the feud until...Wrestlemania. Now, the feud has already been drawn out over the last couple of months, and is one of the best feuds in probably the past 5 years. The new Jericho character, in my opinion, could be the peak of his career where he doesn't have to rely on comedy and can be taken as a serious performer who the crowd can love to hate.

But, with the attention span of not only the internet marks, but the majority of fans everywhere, is it possible to see Chris Jericho vs Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 25?
 
Oh I wish. I love feuds which last a while.

As you said though, fans don't generally have great attention spans so I doubt it.
 
Didn't the HHH/HBK feud drag out for about an year before culminating at Wrestlemania XX just a few years ago? It can be done.

Triple H was feuding with Goldberg for most of 2003.Then at Wrestlemania 20 Triple H faced Benoit and HBK and Goldberg faced Lesnar.

Their first confrontation was at Survivor Series 02, but they didn't start feuding until January and wrapped it up a month or two after Wrestlemania. So it was only 4 or so months total. This one has already went on that long.

EDIT: Sorry. Misread. Thought you were talking about the first Y2J/HBK feud.
 
Well, Triple H and HBK kind of had been feuding since HBK's return in 2002 at Summerslam, they were involved in other feuds, but were always somehow getting back to their feud, but that didn't even end until Bad Blood in the HIAC.
 
Would also be an AMAZING match. But for that to mean much, the Jericho one needs to end soon, and something needs to happen to trigger their feud.
 
HBK vs. Undertaker doesn't need much of a build up. Something simple like one of them eliminating the other again at the Rumble will be all it takes.

One quick promo of "Who is Mr. Wrestlemania" or "Taker, you've never beat me" is all it will take. Seriously a feud with those two will take very little to nothing to get people in a fever pitch, probably unlike anything we've seen in the WWE in a long time.
 
I think it could be done at wrestlemania, but a small break from direct contact would be needed. I say put michaels over jericho in this next match but begin a cade-michaels program where jericho is indirectly involved. And then do a punk-jericho feud, giving jericho the strap at say survivor series- royal rumble. (i prefer survivor to build up the mania match). Then reconnect them to do mania for the title
 
I think Jericho/Michaels could very well happen at Wrestlemania 25. It has been THE feud of 2008, easy. If they just give this feud a 3-4 month break, this match could happen very easily. Have Jericho go in a different direction for a while after the loss to Michaels at Unforgiven then, have Jericho say some harsh words towards Michaels, BAM! reignition to the Jericho/Michaels feud.

If I got to choose a match for Wrestlemania though, I would have a Undertaker/Michaels match. That would be a GREAT match. It would probably take match of the year.
 
I'd rather see HBK vs Taker at Wrestlemania but I wouldn't mind Y2J vs HBK either. Their feud has been amazing thus far and I think they could very well extend it to Wrestlemania. Edge/Taker's feud started back in May 2007 and culminated in August 2008. This feud could last just as long. At this point it's hard to believe that it all started with a faked injury. It just shows just how well this feud has transitioned from faking an injury to punching someone's wife.
 
I wouldn't mind seeing Jericho/HBK at WrestleMania, but there are a lot of problems that would have to be cured beforehand.

1) How do you drag it out that long? They've already thrown in the family member scenario. HBK/Cade is a possibility to stall, but will the fans really give a shit? I doubt it. That might kill all the steam that the feud has.

2) Cena/Batista. I think these two should have one of the non-title matches. Typically in WrestleMania, there are 3 non-title feuds that happen. Last year, we had HBK/Flair, Batista/Umaga, and Finlay/JBL. This year, I'd rather have Cena/Batista be one of those, rather than have Cena/Batista be for the title. If you made Jericho/HBK for the title, that'd be great.

3) Undertaker/HBK. I mean, come on...that would be phenomenal lol. How can you pass it up? Oh and since they had Taker eliminate HBK in 07, HBK eliminate Taker in 08, then in the 09 Royal Rumble, have them both go over the ropes at the same time. Evens up the count.
 
dont get me wrong i love the HBk/Jericho fued so much, just like many people say, it truly is the best fued going right now, but, i like many others would kind of rather see HBK vs. Taker-but why does everyone keep saying itll be a career match-i think both men have 5 years left in them-maybe michaels and taker could start the fued by eliminating each other from the rumble again and then Michaels saying how he beat taker and kept the title at the rumble in 98 and how he beat taker in the 1st hell in a cell and he just goes on and on saying how taker has never beat him and thus a killer new fued is born


but i found myself asking myself when I read that the Michaels/Jericho match was gonna be unsanctioned "is this feud slowly leading to the fued ender-The HELL IN THE CELL match"

anyone else agree with me about the Mania match and where HBK and Jericho might go?:flair:
 
I don't want to see Jericho vs Michaels at WrestleMania 25, this feud is getting way more praise than it deserves. Jericho does the same fucking promo every week on RAW and Michaels keeps playing the battered veteran that will obviously make a comeback in the end, Whoopdeedoo. This feud has been made personal in all angles, Jericho handicapped Shawn AND hit his wife, there is no more to add to this feud to keep it running until WM25.

Taker facing either man at WM25 is better than another HBK vs Y2J match IMO.
 
I think most people would rather have Taker/HBK, but i would rather have that at a later Wrestlemania than next years. I guess we won't know when either man will hang up his boots until they announce it, but it's gotta be soon in regards to Taker surely. He's got his own real estate business up and going and must already have made more money than anyone else on the roster, so i don't think Taker is going to hang around much longer.He'll probably try to get his undefeated streak up to 19-0 or maybe 20-0, but all it takes is one horrific injury (god forbid) and the guy is gone. He's taking more high risk spots than he ever did in his first decade so who knows.

I personally, LOVE the fact that the HBK/Jericho fued has kept going so long because i too am sick of 2 month fueds. I can remember HHH and Rock fueding over the WWF title for God knows how long in 2000 and that becoming stale and that's the only longterm fued i can remember. I'd want this fued to go on for a while longer, not sure if i want to see another Y2J/HBK at WM tho. Jericho should get a title shot if Punk retains next Sunday, and HBK should cost him the title like he did with the IC belt imo, and then they pick up from there
 
Y2J vs HBK is a WM quality match, but I think it needs a gimmick match, like 3 stages of hell. This could be a perfect match between the two. They would need a submission match, a normal match, and if they could last that long, they could have a 30 minute ironman match. They don't even have to extend the feud until then, it could be that HBK injures Y2J and Y2J challenges HBK to this match at WM for revenge, or vice versa. If this match happened, it could easily steal the show and possibly be the best WM match of the decade.
 
I personally love this fued, when i see them cut a promo i almost think they really hate each other. its a good long built up fued, and i want it to last but i dont no about mania. That just seems a little far for me. hopefully till surviror series at least though. the feud is great and they put on awsome matches.
 
Well apparently HBK has suffered a torn triceps injury that occured at last night's Raw taping after the show went off the air so we won't even be seeing Y2J vs. HBK at Unforgiven. This royally sucks. The only match that I was really looking forward to at Unforgiven and HBK has to go and tear his goddamn triceps.
