Now, keep in mind I like ya. You're a cool dude. You've just made me remember something a bunch of us discussed a few weeks back. I cannot stress this enough, we're good, ya good, you've done so much amazing stuff in and for the fed. But...
WORST. FREAKING. SEGMENT. OF. ALL. TIME! It is known. Been certified.
Okay so there is a back story there. It's by no means an excuse to what is an awful fucking segment, but I'm going to at least explain my actions before I'm rightfully lined up in front of the firing squad.
Pancake and I are really good friends. In fact, if it wasn't for him shooting me a PM after my debut, I probably wouldn't have stuck around. We got a half assed feud in the RRR/Strikeforce/Bearded Talent TLC match, but there was zero build. We (Strikeforce) had to PM creative at the time and request a segment to help build the match, and then all we got was RRR running into Strikeforce backstage, Runn cracking a joke about Subway, and then a handshake. It wasn't until the Strikeforce/Saxoteur feud that Howard and Mikey actually got to pick up a mic. Needless to say, given our friendship we had long wanted a feud.
We came close a time or two, but the stars never aligned. It was finally going to happen a short time after he lost the World Title. Say what you will about his run at the top, but his swag gimmick was probably the best character transition of all time. Think about it, Ricky Runn was basically generic high flying face, until he turned his swag on. He became a hated heel and he started to rack up impressive wins.
Now I will be honest, this was at a time where I wasn't in a good place. There were a lot of things that I did, be it RPs, segments, or even thinking up the dumbest shit to pitch for Runn (who Pancake will admit I had way more creative say in than I deserved) I did just to try to make myself laugh or just distract myself from my shitty personal life.
The creative team and been flirting with a few ideas at the time as well. We wanted an on screen NPC shakeup, we wanted a new corrupt authority figure, and we wanted to move away from the rule that said roster members couldn't flirt with the female NPCs. The original rough plan was that Chris KO was going to enter into a relationship with Becky Serra and have her eventually turn on him, making her heel, but those plans were scrapped when the White Knight gimmick flopped. We put it on the back burner until Runn lost the title. Controversy from the title reign aside, the character was still a big deal and had name value and we couldn't just drop him back to the bottom of the card. We decided to pull the trigger on all those ideas with Runn.
We planted some seeds that Mikey and Runn were going to feud, with Runn and Serra stacking the deck against Mikey. It was meant to propel Mikey into the main event scene. I was absolutely hyped for the feud, we had all these ideas that were super over the top. It was honestly just Pancake and I jerking each other off. Despite that, I was looking forward to it.
Well circumstances beyond my control forced Pancake and Runn out before the conclusion of the feud. I was pissed and depressed. I considered dropping from the fed myself. I was convinced to stick around, but I half assed the feud wrap up. I mostly threw my toys out of the crib and refused to let anyone else wrap it up with a logical finish.
So yeah, I ended up fucking off and working a bunch of jokes from Workaholics and misogynist lines from Jon Lajoie songs. It resulted in an unfunny segment that I'm not proud of.
True story, the wrap up to the Runn/Mikey feud was going to to be Ricky drugging Mikey and indoctrinating him to the religion of Swaghili. Ricky was going to become the diety of the religion, with Mikey the patron saint. It was going to be the Straight Edge Society but with scantily clad women and molly. I'm not going to say it was going to be bad, but look at the heights I climbed to after that storyline went to shit.
It was only implied he jerked off to one of Eve's photo shoots, I never actually wrote it out. I can't say the same about Mikey loosing his virginity though.
This is a fantastic logo. Should be used for more Apocalypse ppvs. KJ's work?
Anyways, here's more trivia (easier than before):

On the shows prior to winning the belts, they went by a singular name. I'm actually surprised that the Tag Team thread doesn't have it listed. May need edited in.
I never could pronounce that name. Asked Ech about it and what it meant. I rightfully assumed it was Latin, but he said Funk told him what it meant but he forgot. The Holmes/Celeste story was a shock and turned out well. People had no idea it was going to happen, the response was great. Credit to those two for keeping it a secret.
