WZCW Discussion Thread

Just so you know, the show IS done, I'm just waiting on the otheer guys to make sure it's all ok and then you'll see it :p

RP boards will be up tomorrow, BUT you'll still have the normal time as the card is in MD18 so you can work out who you're fighting.

I'm gonna be honest Milenko and say...yeah. The Battle Royale was the hardest match I've had to call for a very long time; Stokes and Milenko were excellent RPs as were all the new comers. Great effort and I hope this see us move forth.

Also a very well done to Lee for writing the show, and Ricky for writing the Monkey/Stokes promo.

EDIT; Milenko NOT Murfish...it is 5:30am!

Again, not winning the Rumble was kinda disappointing. But, at least you seemed to have made an effort (thank you) to put me on the card.

The Apocalypse card is great, and Spiral markage. Nice finish, and Vengeance getting a fat ass push. Great show

I wrote where it says Milenko Murfish then realised what I had done, so edited to give you praise NOT Murfish

Just offering my opinion on the show length situation...

I don't mind the idea that Meltdowns are condensed and brief. However, I think that the PPV's should definitely be longer, formatted and with written matches (even if they are short.) In using my experience as a staff member here, I know that this can be done. There seems to be a fair number of staff who, if they work together well enough, could most likely do this with ease.

They shouldn't be as long as the shows used to be, but they should at least look like they used to so people are rewarded for the effort they put into roleplays. They are major shows after all, and so should look better.

But, this is only my opinion and I don't know the issues that staff have with this.

IMO this wont happen. While I would like to see longer matches, the general consensus is that they aren't appreciated. Also, general members of the fed are asked to write matches because (in the past especially) the staff have not written matches.

Also, general members of the fed are asked to write matches because (in the past especially) the staff have not written matches.

The main problem when I was running it was people who were always late with writing matches or ended up not bothering to write them. This left it up to one person (myself usually) who would have to write 3 matches, format the whole show and piece it all together, which is why match-writing is a strain for some people and why members are asked to write. If it wasn't so difficult, more staff members would want to do it.

However, as I said before, if the current staff manage to work together, they could write longer matches for a proper PPV with ease. Even just 200-word matches would do.

But there's obviously time constraints so they probably won't change.

Spiral that's a great point and opinion. It's been tossed into the creative boardroom and a decision may be made before the end of the day.

Personally, I liked and disliked writing matches. I loved writing them when I could put the time and effort into them. (ie. Lethal Lottery was fun, yet a major pain in the ass) However the issue that a0161613 pointed out is.. most of our regulars don't like longer matches.. and as result, don't attempt reading all of them out. (only their own)

Your happy middle idea is what's being tossed up. Better formatting, overall length and production of the match.. yet not too long.

I would greatly appreciate more e-fed members to voice their opinion on this matter, while creative thinks it through as well. If we decide to make the Pay per views more like older times.. would people take the time to credit the hard work the staff would put in.. or just neglectfully discount all the other matches, but their own?

I like the idea for when the match deserves it, ie its a big match/angle and both members have RP'd etc.

But it HAS to be something that is handled by staff and not by members. The staff is there for a reason and it is to do this sort of thing.

I know this place is like the McMahon household and other feds don't exist but the truth is that they do. And they manage to put out fully written shows within two weeks when the responsibilities are delegated and dealt with responsibly.

Would have been fine if you left it here.

I've been here for 18 months. And I have said a lot worse, that have generated a lot of annoyed discussion. I think what I said is pretty fair. Maybe I could have put it differently but the point would have been the same.

Interesting show, nice to see a former member returning in Downward Spiral. My only question involves the end of the 6 man Tag Match. You had me in the ring, laughing at Red masks pain or something... I'm still a face, remember? I'm only there cause I don't have a choice. Eric Derf is currently "not enjoying himself" since being bought by Mangus, so me laughing would be a little out of charecter, don't yas think?
