FB up for those slags that asked for it.
I owe you both a lot as well. You guys have caused me to put my own spin on the classic mob character.

Killjoy hit it right on the head with saying it was The Sopranos light and I need to change that.

Cheers for the feedback.

Trent was really a cricket reference. If you want to discuss about cricket, just inbox me :p I never get tired of talking about it.

I too am looking forward for the upcoming Meltdown!!

John Doe - Another very good piece, but I feel it lacked the power Eve's piece did because it never really put into contrast how Doe relates to his own mask in the way Eve did her title. Doe does talk about the constant abandonment both characters face but Eve stretched that out for herself way more than Doe did. Her embracing those abandonments and her identity crisis put a huge damper on Doe's piece that focuses on those bits too making it feel pretty powerless. This was one of the better RP's of the round, but Eve's piece was such a perfect counter measure to it. And it came first to boot. -9/10

The running theme of feedback to my RP was that I didn't address the mask, as much as Eve addressed the title. Here's why:

The day before writing my RP, I was in the hospital. The day I wrote it, I was readjusting to meds, and then found out I'd finally be getting my dad's ashes, after 16 years. So, there was a lot of emotion going on in my head, and it related very closely to Doe losing his father (Zeus). So the RP became very personal, and very emotional, and even though it was 90% of what I wanted to do, I left out some details I wanted to add, and trailed away from the most important thing that it needed to be. But, it was cathartic to write after the 24 hours I had faced. The piece was much more about who Doe was, and why, and where he was in the moment. After posting it, I read FalKon's, and noticed a lot of similarities, and thought the two RPs really played well together. The better man definitely won.

Not sure why I felt the need to let it all out now, but I figured it was safe, now that voting has been done, and the show has come and past. I didn't want to say anything before then, and have it affect the outcome of the match.

Who knows. You still playing?

Nope. Too expensive and too many massive douchebags playing the game locally. Guys who'd play tier 1 Affinity decks against a weak meta and act like they're Patrick Chapin when they beat a guy playing a dimir brew deck in turn five; or worse play storm and then fuck up the combo when you say you've never seen it and want to see it go off. I enjoyed the two weeks of KTK standard when my Abzan Mid deck was competitive but then it got hated out super efficiently and I didn't care enough to drop another couple hundred on switching to a different deck.

TOs and judges were players who frequently made top 4. The prize pool was split terribly, one packet for bottom, nothing for 8th-15th. One packet at random between 5 and 8 and the rest of the pool split evenly amongst top four.

Went to the next town over for a game day event and tied the mirror because my opponent kept playing slowly (he knew a draw would net him top 8) and the judge just kept telling him to hurry up (eight times in game one - he was spectating it as it was the only match where the result mattered) without giving him a game loss despite the fact that he had a four minute turn to take us to time as he'd worked out I would beat him if he let me have the final turn. The judge then offered to sell me the promo card for top eight finishers at double the actual value of it.

Same judge came back to my FLGS and spent the entire game talking about my plays and talking shit about my deck being double-sleeved even though I was somewhere in the middle of the Swiss.

Then the TO pre-emotively banned Jeskai Ascendency in modern because his Affinity deck kept losing to it and "it was obviously going to be banned" then refused to ban Treasure Cruise because he'd splashed blue to put it in his 60.

So yeah the local community soured me on the game a lot and the price verses feedin two children made leaving the game a no brainier. Think my collection is worth about £5k or so. (No Goyfs but lots of legacy and vintage only cards including one or two staples) may sell them on or pass them down if my kids decide to play. I'm told locally new guys have taken over the events and it's much better but still.

Yeah, the guy we bought shop from almost ruined it for me too. He was fucking all his employees and was a huge douche bag to all of his customers. Don't know why a TO would Ban any cards besides what's on the ban list as that is definitely not part of any competitive REL and even though Gameday is barely ahead of a FNM tournamemt, playing slow to go through time is a game loss. I'm a judge on Magic League online and I give gsmelosses for that all the time. Stuff like that though makes me sick.

Yeah man, if it wouldn't have killed the game locally I would quite happily have reported all the shenanigans to WotC just to watch the world burn.

Holy Shit my match.

Looks like I need to send Ech a PM and possibly rework my entire RP outline. I never thought I'd be put in a Tag match so I outlined my RP for a singles match.

I don't think you need to change it that much, if at all really. Tag matches are always a good way of developing your character I feel. Especially given what you have planned. Think about the themes of teaming with someone and build from there.

Sigh.

At the PPV you announced Vee would face Titus on Meltdown. I prepped this for facing Vee and have my idea in place with the RP set it yet now actually I'm against Flex. Someone on creative who KNEW this would be the match.

Can you guys STOP doing stuff like this please?
