WZCW Discussion Thread

I've been awake going on 22 hours now. My eyes hurt, but I know if I sleep i will end up missing most of Mania so I'm sticking it out.

Once I recover from the deep slumber I plan to enter after Mania, I need to get cracking on a World Title winning RP early because the deadline is my birthday.

Hey Killjoy, did you know I have a birthday? Hint Hint Killjoy.

I find it really odd to see Theron on the pre-show (not in a bad way). Just shows the dynamic nature of WZCW.

Who should I bribe to get through Matt Tastic and Kagura/Garth?
Me, obviously.

Your inside jokes are very deep inside.

I can say I find it useful. Breaking it down by segment/match is a good way for me/us to see where something clicked, or where the continuity might have been off. You've been in the back. You see how the matches get selected and written and posted, and how the show gets put together. Sometimes there can be a miscommunication between just one person, and something gets overlooked. As you noted, the Mikey match and then segment. The segment was done first, so there really wasn't a carry over from the match, because the writer didn't know how the match was going to go.

I know these are things I've addressed in my own writing, and I know everyone else has noticed them too.

We truly do appreciate the reviews. Sometimes we miss little things, like you pointed out that Mikey had a match, went to the back, then came back out to interrupt Constantine's coronation in the very next segment. When you have five or six guys working together on a show you have to make sure all the individual pieces mesh together coherently, and sometimes small things like that get lost in the mix or don't make sense. We don't want people pointing out each little spelling error or grammar mistake, but things like that do help and we make it a point to try to take a little from each piece of feedback to create the best show possible for the largest number of people.

I think I said it when we exchanged PMs a couple days ago, but your experience on creative helps your feedback because you are aware of how things tend to work.

If you get the time when it goes up, a review of Gold Rush would do us a great service. We have gotten some really good PPVs reviews recently, but having your experience would provide a fresh set of eyes for us.

Cool, I'm glad to hear you guys like it. I'm just hoping I never come off as "look how much I know about writing fake fake wrestling" or anything :p.

Things like the Mikey match/segment thing I definitely understand how it happens - I wanted especially to point it out because after noticing it, it kind of occurred to me that this probably happened loads of times while I was writing/putting together shows, and I never noticed it then. It's kind of a seeing the forest for the trees thing, so I'm hoping I can help out keeping an eye on the forest, so to speak. I've got every intention of reviewing Gold Rush and hopefully everything going forward. For me, it's a great way to stay engaged with the fed at large without being actively on the roster (at least for now ;).

Keep up the great work!

So I'm seeing some issues with the deadline. Let me talk to the guys and see how they feel about pushing it back a day, to the 9th.

That would work provided I can snag an extension for the 10th. That's the one day I have this week that's completely clear.

Unless someone gives a super strong argument for why the 8th needs to be the deadline, and why would they, then pushing it back to the 9th and allowing extensions for the 10th will be fine.

Wow! I didn't realize the deadline was this close. If a day could be added to it, it'll be great cuz I am on the road till 8th and don't know if I'll have access to internet during that time.

On another note, Gold Rush is kind of becoming my thing. Can we have it all the time?

I'm very surprised at the cards. 10 matches on the main card yet only one pre-show match? Unless there are unannounced stipulations, some of those main card matches (every match that's not a title or GR tournament match) would be perfect to expand the pre-show... enough to build an Aftershock show, actually.

Also, I thought M requested the round off?

Just to be clear, M requested the round off after the boards had been made in the back and after a clear set up on the last show. I, personally would ask that if you don't want to be booked on a show, request it earlier. Also, given the circumstances, if the match goes ahead, we'll figure something out. You won't be buried whatsoever.

Ahhhhh, I wasn't there was a difference otherwise I would have put it in.

With Brittany and Holmes, it was explicitly stated that they would be accompanying their guys to the ring. FWR did the same for Missy. If you'd prefer Gino shows up with Tony, then that's fine, just let us know for sure.

The Fatal Fourway is on the main show to reward the people who won a tournament match, since the tournament is the highlight of this PPV. Logan's match.......you'll see.

As for Abel v M:

Basically what Dave said. I can't recall there ever being a PPV where there wasn't something for everyone, so an earlier heads up would have been better, but we'll work it out in the back, and see what we can do.

Hmmm, I have been involved in the fed for how many years and I barely got a match at Kingdom Come? I am the Zach Ryder of WZCW!!!

A tag title match is hardly "barely got a match" :p Your fault for not capitalizing on it. Come back with a better gimmick, and see what happens this KC!
