Attack on Titan has nothing beyond its premise. When you look past the wow of the setting and one or two major plot points you'll discover an incredibly poorly edited anime with characters that suck major balls while also somehow managing to make an anime with a legit serious tone come across as taking itself too seriously. It's the most overrated anime of all time - at least the sword art online fandom can acknowledge it being not the epitome of the medium.
