WZCW Discussion Thread

So I'm doing something with Tony I've never done with any character and that's make a complete outline.

I'm making a list of the 3 storylines I have set up with what I want to do if I win and where I want to take it if I lose. I'm talking in depth with every little thing I can think of happening planned for.

I also have a face turn planned out in depth for when/if I ever want to use it.

Do any of you guys have something like this or what do you do to map out your character?

If I tried to keep a hard copy outline of what I'm doing with John Doe, I'd go mad, and quickly burn out. I know that what I want to do, as my main goal, is get as much heat as possible on him. Then as the cycle starts, I figure out where my end goal is; what I'll want to do for the next RP. Then I come up with a few generalized ideas of what I can do each round, and then let it morph as the matches and shows happen.

I know it sounds like a lot of work, but it's simply having an end goal and very fluid framework of how to get there.

I'm the exact opposite. I need a step by step plan I can refer to otherwise my anxiety goes through the roof and I quit so my high blood pressure doesn't give me a heart attack. Once I calm down I realize I have absolutely no clue what I'm doing and the cycle starts all over again until I give up completely.

If it works for you, then do it. I would recommend doing it somewhere where it can be edited. Maybe set up an Excel page, that way you can just delete a cell and change it, if something changes, depending on the show, opponents, etc.

I usually have half an idea of a joke or something, then when I go to write the whole RP I just try to stitch together something on the fly. For example, last round I had the idea of introducing Sergeant Scarlet, but that's all I thought about before the boards went up. When I saw I was in my first legit tag match I then came up with the idea of the fake flashback with M and the General learning how to team, but everything besides those barebones ideas were done in the moment. I enjoy writing like that because it means I can go back in a month or two and laugh while wondering what the hell I was thinking when I wrote it.

That RP where I introduced Teru was 100% in one go without any prior thought, and that's what people told me was the best RP of my first run so I might just wing it team less this round ;)

Excel would work. I've been using word.

One of the benefits of a Windows phone is I have Microsoft Office right there whenever I need it in case an idea hits me out of nowhere.

I'm just more used to Excel, but there's obviously options out there.

I have a 5S, and I just stick to the Notes app. I have 2-3 in there, almost at all times.

Never liked any Stone Cold Podcasts, until now. The Nature Boy Ric Flair was an excellent guest full of nostalgic stories. Stone Cold seemed more interested in Ric than any other guest and it was a good, interesting show.
