I like LOTR in theory, but in practice I'm not the biggest fan.

I love the battles and all that became of the epic fight scenes, but the rest is just background noise to me.

What? How can you not like Lord of the Rings? You do realize it directly inspired D&D and indirectly in turn also inspired Final Fantasy, right? Without Lord of the Rings I guarantee you there would be no Theron.

Bored out of my mind watching the movies. I'm not a movie-goer to begin with (you'll be surprised about the movies I haven't yet watched but I'm working on it) but god damn, my head couldn't find a brick wall faster. The only good thing about LotR are the dank memes. I'm convinced the movies were made to create dank memes.

Never played D&D. Never played Final Fantasy. Do not care much for either of them.

No. I feel you on this one. If you thought the movies were bad, pick up the books. It was a tedious series to read through, believe me. Pages talking about how green the grass was. Not even kidding. I've never seen a more overrated story about walking from Point A to Point B.

The Hobbit though. That story was good. And wrapped itself up in one book.

Out of all the people on here, I didn't expect you to agree with me. That genuinely surprised me.

I've considered the books. I like to read; sometimes my preferred alternative. If I can get my hands on The Hobbit, I will definitely give it a go. Haven't heard anything bad yet.

Idk why everyone is up in arms about Star Wars spoilers. Vader was Luke's dad. It's not a big secret.

I have yet to finish any book by Tolkien.

So boring.

Never played any FF, man. Must be someone else.

One of my best friends is Finnish and showed me Nightwish. We are seeing them on the 9th of Jan next year, actually. Can't wait.

I finally started watching Death Note. I am 16 episodes in, and it feels okay. My anime fan friends are telling me I'll eventually like it, but may be anime is not my cup of tea.

Are there any other anime series I might find interesting?

On other note, I just finished Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Any other fans of these two shows?

Try Kill La Kill, it's basically the polar opposite of something like Death Note (in that it doesn't take itself too seriously)

I'm a big fan of Daredevil/Jones. They show that Marvel can do dark if they really wanted to.

Daredevil really surprised me, especially because I didn't like the movie. And I didn't really think that it'll be as graphic as they made it.

I think we are getting Luke Cage next followed by Iron Fist, right?

I'll try Kill la Kill. I do have this problem with Death Note. It takes detective work too serious while the premise is too... absurd.

Kill LA Kill is god. Satsuki is bae.

Ryuko is sexier you bastard.

In the spring we get Daredevil Season 2, followed by Luke Cage in the fall, and hopefully Iron Fist is right behind that next spring if Netflix aren't greedy bastards again and order season 3 of Daredevil before we get a Defenders teamup.

I wonder where Daredevil goes from here. I am, however, pumped for Punisher. I really believe he should get his own series.

Kill La Kill is great if you can get past the nudity/fan service and some very taboo subjects. I recommend watching it alone and away from others. Story is too good to miss.

Let's see.

Finished off Lupin III: A Woman Named Fujiko Mine last week, watched the entirety of Death Parade this week, and started on watching Gangsta.

Breezing through these nice 12 episode series.

You can finish them in one sitting (which is great) but that moment of having an existential crisis after finishing a series knocks you out for a bit.

I normally watch 2-3 episodes a night while lying in bed so I can clear them out in a few days. I do agree when you finish a series it's always difficult to find the next one to watch.

I've been trying to build up a queue of sort so that doesn't happen, has not gone well so far as I can lose interest rather quick in a series.

If you ever end up with the need to just watch an outrageous comedy anime or something girly I'm the guy to ask.

Haikyuu! Is one I'd suggest if you're a fan of any form of sport. Good player growth without Kuroko no Basket-esque superpower bullshit.
