Nah. DJ wasn't a vet. During the whole mess with Strikeforce/Derek vs. TSA I tried to push PTSD onto Derek and introduced a veteran into the story but it didn't work the way I wanted. I really feel like I can make a solid run with Jeremiah and that's what I plan on doing.

That's true. I feel like backstory is more important in a fed like this than in real life though, if, for no other reason, than because of the amount of "promo" time the fed requires.

For Zeus, here's all that really matters:

• Zeus' wife got killed
• Zeus is insane
• Zeus is in a holy war

Those are the dots that need to get connected. How I connect those dots tends to follow on a case by case basis.

This cycle will probably focus more on Zeus' need to save the world, when he was just a normal Doctor. Hence the emphasis on the Doctor element of his gimmick next cycle. And with two allies like Doe and Fallout, I think there's a lot of room to continue that cycle.

Sometimes you just gotta try something new with your character that may go against what backstory you previously had for them. Though I believe it is crucial for characters to keep a little bit of what they are through the cycles and not pull a complete 180.
