WZCW Discussion Thread

I've got all the RPs read, a final four, and a winner for this year's Lethal Lottery penciled in for my predictions. Tune in tonight to find out who I picked along with my two highly esteemed guests, Echelon and Showtime.

Don't miss the podcast tonight at 7:30PM Central!

Gah Spanish. I've learned more Spanish during the WZCW Latin American tour than I did in three years of foreign language in high school...probably because I took German.

So I'm going back and forth on how I'm going to write Derek this run with the fed. I still think the bodyguard for hire gimmick could work if written like the APA, but at the same time I sort of want to just have him be this badass monster that runs through everyone left right and center.

What do ya'll think?

I imagine you can write it as both. Though having Derek Jacob actually be employed by another WZCW character or having your RPs be Derek going on different mercenary like missions would probably be better than just having him talk about doing that stuff.

I can see that.

Derek doesn't care who is offering the money, especially now that he has to help James out of his situation. Money is money. He can be paid by Cerberus one week and then a face the next. He goes where the money goes.

That would require actually getting a win first.

Listening to this in the background while working was super creepy.

I think Ramparte should kinda go in that direction, like... "background creepy."

And to answer Meeks/Corvus question... the "hired thug" sounds bland as hell to be honest.

Your mom's bland.

haha just kidding. I'm trying to brainstorm ideas to make it work. I have a long term plan with someone else that will eventually happen, so I'm trying to figure out a way to keep him relevant between now and then.

I think you really need to have a think about something that you feel you can write with ease and something that is interesting. A hired bodyguard might be a good idea but you're going to need a lot of interaction with other roster members and that's not always easy. Also, you don't want to be classed as second fiddle for people who are just using you.

Try think about a stronger gimmick and how you see Jacobs future. Give me a PM if you need help, man.

Being pretty much a hired thug won't make him very relevant I think, especially since really unless you set plans ahead, lock them down and confer with people, your character would be kind of an after thought every round.

Like, if YJ were to "hire" you, you'd have to plan out RPs with us, keep in contact, etc to be made into something other than a "one shot" all the time.

It's an interesting idea but wouldn't work in a RP based fed like WZCW, a storyline driven fed it would be cool to see.

There's a million different ways you can take the hired thug gimmick have the story and gimmick into something great. Use the hired thug as a base and keep adding layers to it to make it a part of his character and what shapes his personality and how he acts towards others. But dont be so reliant on other fed members and make your own story or you'll get bored quick. Explore why hes a thug, what brought him to that level of violence. Does he want to change or seek a higher power within his orginization? Is he doing this for money, lust for violence or something else? So many avenues to explore beyond working for other wrestlers.

Thinking of Derek Jacobs reminds me of the complete dissolve of one of the largest angles last year. Mikey Stormrage, and now Derek Jacobs, are the only two members left out of that TSA/Strikeforce angle. Those other members didn't just quit the fed either, the majority of them straight up vanished.

Speaking of, I miss Numbers.

I have a general idea of how it could work, but I don't know anyone willing to help me out with it. I might just reject that one all together and figure something else out.
