Cerberus deserves a pat on the back for winning this round despite my accompanying poop RP. I microwaved it in 15 minutes at nearly midnight. Solid job, boys.

Ascension 77 is a solid show. Here are some random thoughts/feedback on it.

  • I liked the EurAsian Title spotlight to open the show. It's different.
  • The EurAsian feud itself is also different, which is nice and fresh.
  • Mortlock and Wonder is a nice match, but if I'm being honest it leaves me scratching my head a little bit. On AS77 we have an amazing match with two upstarters and on MD102 we had a short uneventful match between former multi-world champions, former mid-card champions, and active tag team champions. Something seems off with the balance in that regard. Just an observation.
  • The tag title scenario had a nice showing on this show. It was nice to see the build.
  • Not sure why Califa agrees with Cerberus being the #1 contenders as we pinned them clean at Unscripted. ;)
  • Amber's attitude is adding a lot of spice to this tag title scenario. I love it.
  • Ah! Blinding pink text!
  • It didn't garner much chat last week, but the men in black really made waves this round as they attacked a very key individual. That man being Zeus. Surely this doesn't go by without any repercussions? I'm interested.
  • The six-man is a fun match with a great post-match segment involving the tag division.
  • It did feel a little cramped clumping the Tastic/Stormrage piece on it at the end.
  • I'm kind of gutted that S.H.I.T. lost the #1 contendership. I was expecting Runn to get involved and cost one of them the match or cause a draw. That way there would be an in to set up a triple threat. Both guys deserve a clear shot at the gold. So sad. There is still one more show, but S.H.I.T. lost clean in a #1 cont. match, so I'm not sure how they could spin him back in the match without just going the "screw logic" route. :(:(:(:(
  • Furthermore, I'm kind of surprised by the lack of focus on the world title scenario. Triple X was practically non-existent on both shows until his match. No hype or anything. Also, there was no follow-up to the swag pack causing a ruckus with S.H.I.T. Again, I surely thought we would see that unfold in the #1 cont. match. Oh well.:(

It wasn't him agreeing with Cerberus being #1 contenders, he was agreeing with Young Justice's win over Demon Foreigners being hollow and not meaning them to be #1 contenders, which he then spun it back around on Cerberus. I should have made that a bit more clear but I had just wrote a 2700 word match and was a bit tired at 11:30 at night.

No worries, I was just teasing over it. Thus the wink face. :p

So since Blade and Diabolos aren't former champions, I'm clear from MD, right?

I will say, I can't fully explain the main event, just yet. There will be a time, but I can't right now.

I was shocked to be honest, we definitely earned the victory though. You didn't do too bad considering how much time you had.

Let's make a plan for all new champs come AoN.

Kermit, if you're saying that Wonder/Mortlock should've been shit, I'm never feeding you flies again...

That's not what I am saying at all.

My comment was on the balance of excitement of the match involving two new guys in comparison to the match on MD that involved Los Magnificos Dragones (Active Tag Team Champions) vs. Showtime/Winters (Only 3-Time WHC, Grand Slam Champion/Former Mid-Card Champion).

To be fair, Eric went way way way over and above what we normally do for MD and AS matches for Mortlock/Wonder. He was trying to prove himself as a match writer more than likely and I applaud that type of effort as he did really well. I did the same thing when I started out on Creative the first time around, I believe Harthan told me when I asked him to look it over that it was PPV quality.

If we put that much effort into every match on every standard show, Creative would be burnt out tremendously quick. It's why you save that type of effort for the PPVs.

I understand that, but even then the LMD vs. Showtime/Winters match still felt a little flat among the rest. Honestly, it was just an observation, as stated originally. It's nothing more than that. I'm not lighting torches or handing out pitchforks. I'm just saying that the balance felt off in my eyes.

To be honest, I actually wasn't trying to prove anything. Just, the match was much easier to write for me than any RP. I thought about a match I wanted to see from those two then went by your guidelines of don't make it short and have them both be shown strong. I think I wrote the whole thing in its entirety in less than an hour and a half, maybe two.
