Then somebody show him the ropes.

Grasshoppah; three days journey, first step; know when to hold 'em; there is no quit in John Cena etc...

Do we want him to learn something or stay around where he is?

That answer affects who I suggest for a mentor.

I'm all for education. I still have loads to learn, and other newbies can pick up a few things too so they can get better.

With that being said, I'm no teacher. Somebody should be a writing guru for the guys who may need it.

One thing I wouldn't mind seeing is a character evaluation thing. Not so much like the Rookie Symposium, but more like just the change each character/writer has go through since entering. Like, I wonder how Barbosa's writing style and RP was like when he first joined. Did he make major improvements or was he always good from the start.

Speaking of the rules, and the prior double RP by Stratton, I may have actually missed where it says "only RP once for a match." All I can find is this:

Role-Plays are judged on Quality not Quantity - Two good Role-Play’s will beat 5 average Role-Play’s any day of the week.

So, does that mean we can pull multiple RPs for one match? Not saying I would (or that it should be the norm), but it's not technically against the rules I guess?

For the record, I am planning a symposium soon. I like to do it in the third week of a cycle, so I can get a real grasp of a character's strengths and weaknesses. That, and I'll answer Spider and your questions in an in depth manner.

Also, while there is no rule against more than one RP, keep in mind that one good RP is better than ten iffy ones. Also, we do not condone directly responding to another person's RP, so that's kind of a problem. Übermensch's first RP was definitely good enough as a stand alone, so it was a little perplexing to see a second RP. It's entirely possible that he may have been on a fed with different rules, but nevertheless, that's kind of a problem.

From everything I've seen, Barbosa has always been this good. Perhaps the best case of improvement in an RP'er is FalKon, but that wasn't necessarily done as Ashleigh Falkon. Trust me, I've read enough Kurtesy over the past six (!) months, so I don't know if I can really chart that progression.

Ricky Runn would make a great study, however.

As far as I can remember when the rule was set was that you can indeed do more than one RP, but it's recommended to put all your energy into one awesome RP instead of two, unless you can keep a high level of quality in both of them. I remember some RP threads where one guy put out an RP, opponent puts out a better RP, responded with a better RP and ended up being back and forth.

Best improvement overall out of everyone would have to be either Falkon or Dynamite. BTW anyone know what the next PPV is? Is it Unscripted?

I would agree on Dynamite; I think that he's come so far already. I have to admit I'm a Flex Mussél fan; I think it would be awesome if he became like those annoying cross fit people, who signed people up to year long subscriptions, and collected their money when they get hurt wrestling great white sharks, after lifting anvils for dead lifts

I wonder if he's going to go towards the Simon Dean approach, towards the White Goodman approach, or leave them all and do something fully different.

I'd also like to sign up for the rookie synopsis whenever that's happening, I'm having a lot of fun as Flex right now. I look forward to whatever creative member truly does write him as having crazy Cesaro levels of strength.

It's going somewhere that's for sure, though Simon Dean was almost my rep before someone pointed me in the direction of the Swiss Superman.

You can't really appreciate his transformation until you read his old Joe West RP's.

I used to be in a fed years ago that had like a 5 RP max or something, 8 for PPVs... maybe more... and weekly, people would max out left and right. It made it so that to have any shot of winning a match, you had to max out. I remember winning their Royal Rumble match by writing the max 8 RPs and each one being like 3-5K words. It was like the hardest I ever worked for a fed... and I didn't have fun to be honest.

I didn't really know this place allowed more than 1 RP, and I've been here like a year and a half now... but I still wouldn't RP more than once. I don't want to beat somebody because I can write more.

Is Mussel still what you originally told me about when we talked or did you alter him a bit?

I remember you mentioning him being a face, but having "accidental" heel properties (I think it was), where he'd get really aggressive with the health thing. Or vice versa?

I don't remember everything I said but he may have changed slightly to be more lighthearted to counter Ramparte.

The more I think about it the more I kinda want him to be 2000's Kurt Angle of the fed, whenever he does turn face expect him to spray Mr. Banks with a protein shake truck.

Just read the second Straton RP. The first was an improvement from the offensive one, but that second one really sucked. I want to see him face Darren Bull next round. We may have finally found someone Bull can defeat.

Stratton can learn. Darren can't.
