WZCW Discussion Thread

For those discussing it: the number one reason current champions are not in the tournament is because we decided it was more important to book good feuds for those championships instead of sacrifice them for the sake of the tournament. The tournament still has a massively competitive field, but we can now also ensure Redemption is the best PPV it can be by building to proper matches for each of the championships.

Confusing. Since most of the roster are involved in the tournament it either relies on last minute challengers from eliminated parties or our former World champions gracing us mere mortals (and machines) with their presence lower down the card. Since you've seemingly had no issue throwing together last minute title matches during the reigns of XXX, Vega, Rush, Black Dragon, Holmes, Smith & Bowen now seems a funny time to start caring.

I just think its a shame so many heavy hitters wont be making this tournament the best thing it could be. Even if it did make the build for a title match or two suffer, or even leave us without a title match or two at Redemption. Plus if the people who eliminate the champions dont go on to win the whole thing then they are due a title match down the line, spawning a title feud. Simples. Not to mention the possible champion vs champion matches. Ehh, whatever.

I was going to make a similar point without the charm and tact. It has its good and bad points.

Sorry for starting to care, I guess?

It's the better decision for the integrity of the titles and the quality of Redemption. The point of the tournament is to evaluate and elevate where appropriate. Do you suppose this isn't going to happen with the champions? There's more than one way to skin a cat.

If you're willing to work with us and not be a complete cunt all the time, then I welcome you back with open arms.

Don't mean to use such a harsh word like "cunt" but yeah, that's the best description I can think of at 1 in the morning.

The reason is valid, but I disagree with excluding middle card champions. A big complaint that we got last year was middle card titles holding back would be World Contenders. Rush and Smith last year are two prime examples. They were both red hot at one point and now Rush is questionable whether he will continue, and Smith is still on the bubble. I guess this is a way to weed out who is truly in it for the long haul and who isn't, but then we get to a guy like Vega.

He's been champion for what, close to a year now, and it's not his fault he won it in the weakest division where very few are a serious challenge to him. At the moment he's in a position where he is almost being punished. The only way he can move up the card it seems is to throw his next title defense.

The decision to not include middle card champions also doesn't make sense when compared to the Lethal Lottery. The past 3 events we've let middle card champions compete with the opportunity to win a WHC title shot. We didn't build up any title matches for the Elite X and the EurAsian this year and I thought the whole PPV turned out well. This is my view on the whole matter though, and I've only just read about it so I'm not fully informed. I look forward to defeating whoever wins this tournament. :)

Clearly not as sorry I am.

RP's should tell you all you need to know in that field surely. Its not like I even care about the title shot, if I did I'd have thrown the match at Kingdom Come with this in mind. I just think we've missed an opportunity for some entertaining chaos that could've thrown up some wild matches and feuds in favour of something more predictable.

Does it really take a tournament for you guys to think "hey this guy should be moved up a tier"? Where is the integrity in babying your champs into their next title defenses as opposed chucking them into the thick of it with the others with a potential WHC Champ vs anyotherkindof Champ outcome at the end? Or do you just require that much of a controlled, organised environment? Lethal Lottery may or may not suggest otherwise.

Aww, we were gonna feed Wunderbar to Celeste for her warm up.

With all due respect to Ech, Wunderbar is the character who I consider to be the template for how to win in WZCW. Setup, monologue, ???, profit. He's the guy who I honestly think could have gone furthest and if I'd been here continuously have been a world champ.

Oh, and fair warning I'll be doing vocals again.

Redemption Card as I see it

David "Showtime" Cougar vs Barbosa

Elimination Tag Team Match
Stephen Holmes and Drake Callahan vs Titus and Kurtsey

Match featuring Elite-X title. If holder eliminated then a title match, if not for #1 contenders spot (NB if title holder reaches the final this should be an elimination match to decide the two people to battle for the title on the next episode of Meltdown)
