Who did they beat to be gain the spot as number one contenders? Not trying to be a stir anything up but I'm rather confused as to who Smith and Rush beat to become tag title contenders after holding singles titles for so long.

I honestly can't really think of another tag team on the roster. The Sacrificial Altar hasn't really ever been a tag team in that sense, Bearded Gents are gone, Strikeforce is getting their asses handed to them by TSA, CoC is gone...

Unless I'm missing a team, those two are it.

Justin Cooper's legacy.

 You can't even use your creative powers correctly. Rigged matches are the way to go. Just don't get lethal with it because you might run the risk of this becoming a lottery and coming in at number 2.

I've beaten both the current Elite X and Eurasian Champion on the same night and you're just terrible.

On the tag team title match, I am perfectly fine with there not being any real reason for Rush/Smith to have a title match. I would have no problem with it being non title as there is a story to be told here without them - Old School vs New School. The silliness of Saxoteur versus the seriousness of RuSmith.

As for the lack of depth in the tag division as a whole, it is disappointing as there were plenty of teams not more than a cycle ago but for one reason or another they have fallen away.

I finally got my somersault! Thanks, guys!

This was something you wanted? I wrote it simply thinking it was in line with Grizzly Bob's goofiness. Glad I could help, though.

They didn't earn the number one contendership through combat, they wore down Saxton's nerves until he challenged them. The only reason the belts are going on the line is because Saxton and Saboteur aren't afraid of a challenge.

Technosa, but they've got other fishes to grill.

When Harthan was trolling Numbers (I think it was him), he said that Toyota is a 500lb compacted into a cruiserweight body.

Originally, I applied with a cannonball senton. When I retire, I'm going to ask creative to have Grizzly breaking his neck after attempting that move. Then I can die happily... 350lbs of cannonball is pretty much my whole bucket list...

Someone is using the Chael Sonnen tactics up in this house! I knew Crock was a fan.

It's a shame. I was hoping I'd be able to leave with the tag division still strong. Legitimately disappointed.

I'm sorry what? The only guy on our team you guys can regularly beat is Derek Jacobs meanwhile Yazloz and I have beaten yourself, DC and GM several times over. Next week is my first chance against Mystique I don't plan on losing.

That tag team division sure did shatter quickly though

It always does. Usually it shatters AFTER Kingdom Come though.

Tag team divisions are notoriously variable in strength, in both real fake and fake fake wrestling. Given our additional challenge of having to satisfy people when they want out and/or people leaving, I think the tag team division is doing pretty well, considering.

New people will get into it, as ever. Tag teams can spring up and collapse overnight.

Facecrush's last name is actually McSpinesmasher not buster, just letting you know so he doesn't fuck you up man. I'd hate for Krypto to be the only green around here.

Dang. Thanks for the catch. Looking out for your fellow green brother.

Honestly, I would love to see another mixed-bag tag team battle royal that put together Showtime and Stan Rogers.

I was joking. Although Mikey is yet to pin Mason...

The tag-team division "shattering" is a bit unfair... Barbosa and SHIT are doing different things by choice and Strikeforce split on their own terms. Brent Blaze had to retire, leaving "The Ascension", Dustin Hunter solo. Ditto Gentleman Masque. I don't know what the deal with Saxton is, but I'm sure Doc will enlighten us in the podcast... That's FIVE teams broken up right there, which still leaves TSA (freebird rule?) and the Vicious Vipers, making it seven tag teams.

That tag-division is better than WWE's Hell No or Shield vs all comers or TNA's Bad Influence, Roode&Aries & Lolchavo.

BarboSHIT never really intended to become part of the tag team division in the first place. Their non-kayfabe plan was to get Empire over as a tag team threat. Instead, after an explosive start, they ground them into the dust.

So I should bring back El Califa and Ty Burna as a tag team after KC then to help out the division?

I'm down for that battle royal thing that Kermit mentioned.

This; I think there's a lot of potential teams that could make for fascinating tag teams.

I said earlier in the thread that Izzy Stone needed a feud, like, yesterday. What about a tag team? Pair her up with, I dunno, Vega, and let the two soar.
