Or maybe it takes a bit longer than you think to do feedback. I would much rather wait longer for better feedback than getting a line or two about what someone liked in my rp. You'll get fb from me soon guys. Hell if you want it that bad do some feedback for people who are capable guys at feedback.

Yeah, I realized how bad I am at giving feedback. It just seems like I just write the same "good job" stuff, although it's hard for me to find major flaws in a lot of the PPV RPs.

This.

I feel like my feedback needs feedback now...

In all fairness though the standard of RPs this round is phenomenal, and my I felt like most of the negative comments I made were picking holes rather than being constructive.

Also, I have very little time right now since my A-level students are doing their exams and my GCSE students are in the midst of revision. (I teach Maths btw - I might start offering calculus help in exchange for feedback)

Where the fuck were you 7 1/2 years ago when I had to take Pre Calc in high school? I was an honor student and all that but god damn did I hate math, I was a solid C math student and my teacher flew through that shit like we shoulda known it years ago.

Funny thing is, I took Physics that same year and aced the ever living shit out of it, and probably had just as difficult math as my Pre Calc class did.

Physics is applied maths, maybe it was the context that made it easier for you. Once you get to calculus maths becomes totally abstract for a while until your knowledge gets deep enough to contextualise it again

Pretty much what I figured when I looked at my grades. With physics it made sense to me the why we were calculating and how we were getting the answer. Proofs in Calculus were the bane of my existence back in high school. The very first day of class he had us follow him on a proof for 1=2, which of course is invalid and not possible, but you could use correct theorems and arguments in a correct manner to prove it.

It was at that point my brain melted and weed was no longer a recreational thing, it became a requirement for me to make it through that class.

That guy was an ass. Stuff like 1=2 are dogshit theories designed to catch you out - I assume he explained why it was wrong and where the problem was. (if a=b then a^2-ab=0 so although 2(a^2-ab)=1(a^2-ab) it doesn't matter because it's saying 2x0=1x0 which is true because anything x0 is 0...

For 16-18 year olds being able to actually apply calculus to differentiate things like trig and functions such as e^x using the quotient, product and chain rule are the important stuff. Also finding the volume of a solid using the pi x the integral of y^2. Using the differentiation to find the stationary points and determine whether they are maxima or minima has some really good real world applictions.

That's exactly the point I brought up as well.

Teachers can make or break the fuck out of what you learn, bra. I worked my ass off to get a B+ in Pre-Cal my junior year of HS first semester. Guy made it complicated as hell. Second semester, took it with a different teacher. A+ easy. Was so easy and laid back...and actually felt like I learned.

This, a million times this, if you can convince students to enjoy your class they'll always do better than if you only manage to convince them they're dumb by making it far harder than it needs to be.
