I think one of the major errors that the idiots who spend time wanking out power level lists for sagas after Frieza make is assuming that as time passes each form gets significantly stronger as time passes, so base Goku in the Buu Saga would whoop base Goku from the Cell Games Saga's ass. I disagree with that. I think that once you reach the limits of a form. That's it, you can go no further. Base Goku circa Cell = Base Goku circa Buu. That's why the Saiyans (and Piccolo via fusion) had to keep pulling new forms out of their arses. Their old ones weren't enough, therefore they needed new ones with higher limits. But of course that's complete and utter wank. Would probably keep the numbers below the trillion mark though.

I actually came up with the theory without looking at Toryama's statement just because it made a hell of a lot more sence to me than treating transformations as a powerlevel multiplier (and then working out what gets done with that multiplier to keep the numbers sane). There was a depressingly large amount of people making power level lists on a DBZ forum I was on about 5 years ago. I figured it made more sence for Base Goku to get no stronger after the Frieza Saga (or at least no meaningful amount stronger. He'd be as strong as he could reach with the Kaioken, however since that is a multiplier AND can't make you stronger than maximum strength a form can sustain I hypothesised), SSJ1 Goku not to get much stronger after the Cell Games, Likewise his SSJ2 form from the Buu Saga wouldn't be and weaker than it would have been at the end of the series. Probably outright contradicted by some things, but hey it was something I came up with while I was bored and walking home from school.

There's no era in DBZ that I have strong distaste for. I've always been most partial to the Cell/Android saga, since I loved Trunks as a kid.

A very simple and realistic mulitplier that I came up with based on the Perfect Files works like this...

Great Ape x 10 base

SS1 x 50 base

Super Great Ape x 500 base

SS1 post HTC x 100 base

SSJ2 x 200 base

SSJ3 x 800 base

SSJ4 x 1000 base

If I use a parody character of a person in my RP (say Byron Turner) which is clearly meant to be someone else but is also clearly NOT that person do I need permission?

No, that's called living in ignorance. I thought Naruto sucked because everyone else said it did; then I actually sat down and watched it, and now it's my third favorite series behind DBZ and Sailor Moon.

I liked the Great Saiyaman saga; I found it to be saga closest to the original DB. Plus Gohan x Videl is my favorite pairing.
