I tried giving Ty rep a couple of days ago after reading his RP, but I was told to spread my rep around before giving it to him again.

Apparently, 4 years isn't enough time between rep.

Rep 5 others then you should be able to rep him.

There's a tonne of people in the Fed now that love a novel. The idea has been floated to put a word cap on the Lottery, since that's the usual time that we see novels the most. I'm rejecting that. However, and I must stress, please think about Creative when you're writing your piece. We have 25ish RP's to read and it is so boring when all of them are 10,000 words each. Short and sweet is hard to beat.

A skilled writer doesn't need 10,000 words to get the point across.

While I agree, I'd also argue that it depends entirely on the story one is trying to tell.

You have no idea of the guilt I sometimes feel...

Although I don't think I've quite hit 10,000 words on any yet.

...yet.

That's why I win as much as I do then? Because I'm lucky to crack 2,000 words? I knew there was a secret to it.

It's not about word limiting, it's about word selection. I've seen many RP's contain so much fluff it ruins the RP. Just write what you need to write for the current match.

This is a major reason why I have foregone setting up for future RP's. Foreshadowing is fine for a sentence or two but dedicating an entire section in the RP for a future RP is insane. It adds nothing to your current situation. Write about the current situation! Use this saying: "Tomorrow's problems for tomorrow's me". It has helped me a ton.

Is this a consensus feeling amongst the creative team?

Welp, I'll be the first to admit that I never really had a good grasp on the voting criteria for creative around here. Personally, I'm hoping I just enjoy the creative writing aspect of the fed this time around more so than the competitive side of it.

...but I still wanna win. :icon_neutral:

As long as what you write is captivating and maintains interest to read through to the end, you'll have no problem. 100 words. 10,000 words. Weird subject matter. Who cares: all you need is to get the reader invested and keep them hooked.

This'll seem a little weird but I was adding a friend on Steam who goes by Infinity_Storm. Your Mr. Pink avatar popped up with the name InfinityStorm as one of those I could add. Is this also you or just a hell of a coincidence?

Personally, I hate seeing a super long RP when it comes time to read them to vote. It's very difficult to stay engaged when you're reading so much material from so many different characters. If the RP stays on subject and has a really engaging story/point to tell then fine, I don't mind it. But if there's long sections that could easily been on the DVD deleted scenes category then it loses points from me. Most of my earlier RPs were monsters with 100 different scenes and pointless side quests until Prophet Pmed me and said creative wants to drive a foot in my arse with those RPs so I cut way back. (Still have a thirst for chaos but I can't help that shit, come at me bro!)

What is "Steam?" :wtf:

I'm pretty sure the length of my RPs backfired on me for some matches, but I never got a directive heads up from creative. They just told me to stop blatantly killing people. =(

So I started just alluding to killing people. =)

You can always ask for feedback if you want to know how you are doing. I'm currently on Creative and don't mind giving feedback after the shows go up for this round, if asked and the time permits.

To add on my feeling of long rp's.

Some RP's are long and feel long. Think The Last Jedi
Some RP's are long and don't feel long. Think The Two Towers.

I might get a bit of hate for this, but I'd have switched those examples around...

Just watched Thor Ragnarock. That was a perfect example of a Thor movie written by Gardian of the Galaxy writers. Major improvement seeing how Thor movies are pretty much turds (In my opinion. Didn't like any of them). It helped that The Hulk was around to add to the charm but if you really think out it, his role in the film is an extended cameo and nothing much more than that. Everything was 10 times over the top and it helped in matters and hurt your brain in others. Jeff Goldblum was effortlessly hilarious in his Grandmaster role. It wasn't an awesome movie, but it was entertaining at times.
