WZCW Discussion Thread

If you think D&D is nerdy, you should look into e-fedding.

EDIT: Seriously though, imagine if we were at a large table imitating our characters. Gamers would think we were the nerds.

I don't want to sound like the world's biggest asshole but I find D&Ders to be giant nerds. I've never tried it so I shouldn't even try to judge but I deliver to a video game store and listen to these guys play I just can't help having the thought bubble appear over my head with me screaming NERD while laughing and pointing. I feel so out of place (normal person) when I walk in and I hear somebody using super nerd speak while playing the game. I'm a nerd myself, but these guys are the advanced versions. Feel free to reply to this with Fuck You old man and stuff.

This is why we make such a good tag team. Not on the same page or even the same word, we're in the same syllable.

I said the same thing back in 9th grade. Thought D&D was super uncool. Then I tried it in 11th grade and loved it. Saw all the inspirations that console RPG's drew from it and already liked role-playing before D&D. 14 years later, still love it. Like others said, just find a group of friends who play and try it out sometime. If you end up not liking it then oh well, at least you still gave it a chance.

WZCW is basically wrestling D&D.

Oh my gosh yes. That's an awesomely accurate comparison.

Sadly it often happens. I'm very lucky in the sense that the group I am in existed long before I started playing D&D and will hopefully exist long afterwards. We get a steady stream of new guys coming in and enough stick around that there's been around 8 including the DM for as long as I can remember.

It helps that as a group we're very fraternal. We are horrible bastards to one another in that room but if shit hits the fan they're all right by your side. Someone causes a lot of drama we call them on it and leave it there. If it becomes a huge problem we ask them to take a break for a while. They're welcome to return whenever they like.

My 3.5 group was also fraternal and close to the point where we are like brothers to each other. We made the mistake of letting one guy invite his sister, who nobody in the group wants around at the game with the exception of her mother (who is married to the DM). Needless to say drama and arguing ensued when she came to play one session and we are on hiatus until we can figure out ways to work around it.

D&D is not for me. God bless anyone who does it, though. I hate dragons and wizards and shit, so I'll stick to shitty 80's action movies and Twin Peaks.

Harry Potter is a buster ass bitch. When the kids in my elementary/middle schools were reading Harry Potter, I was reading dope shit like The Stranger by Camus and Jaws.

This kid doesn't even need a wand to kick your ass.

A joke that probably only Lee will get.

If they don't have a chainsaw replacing a stump on their arm that they created because their hand got bit by a deadite girlfriend and became a total asshole...what kind of hero is it?

Barrett from FF7 probably comes the closest to.... whatever it was you just described. Or if you just want someone proficient with chainsaws there's Edgar from FF6. And Gogo if he Mimics him.
