....Wow.
I write one of the best RP's I feel I have ever written and my opponent writes one of the worst RP's I have read since joining the fed (not counting the times when people just put something up to avoid a no show) and I lose.
I know wins and losses aren't everything and I mean this in the nicest way possible...but how the HELL did I lose to Flynn this round?!?!?!
I remember this one time in the midst of a losing streak I got "switched off" by Jack Skinner, my RP was what I thought was an in depth analysis of the face/heel dynamic that make wrestling so compelling, crossed with S.H.I.T briefly assuming the identity of a short-lived Coco character and it finished with a completely random out of place interview, while his was a short "oh boy, I am in a rut, I had better get out of it" effort. I was non-plussed, but one day if you stick around, you'll look back and laugh like I CAN'T BELIEVE I LOST THAT FUCKING MATCH!
Again I know wins and losses aren't everything but if I'm counting right, i'm now 1-10. At this point it would take like a massive win streak for Hunter to even be considered a threat to win a match. I finally get settled in on a gimmick and begin taking the advice given to me and it makes no difference.
You should've seen my losing streak, I once got "switched off" by Jack Skinner, I am not sure if I've mentioned it in the past. Now look at me, maybe this is a little arrogant but I reckon most people here would be a bit wary if the boards matched them up against that guy that wears cardboard.
It's irrelevant -- we lost. It's just something you have to deal with in an e-fed. There's plenty of losses you'll disagree with, but you shouldn't focus on those.
There are, I got pissed off with this one time that I got "switched off" by Jack Skinner. One thing I have learned is, much like that time I lost to Chris K.O and whinged like a little bitch (although my problems were mounting at the time, I was ill, moving out and creative had just bitch slapped me barely a cycle ago forgetting an idea I pitched, giving the SHIT/Barbosa feud no air time to develop into anything and then giving the ideas to the Steven Holmes character, so gimme a break. Actually don't, I whinged like a little bitch and that whole scenario started the "creative bias" debacle, not the proudest moment :/) is that you'll take a loss when you start a new story arc, a loss to a character who like K.O was well underway with his own story already, but it is necessary and you'll find your feet again. Whether you agree with the result or not.
Creative might be a bunch of old fuddy duddies sometimes, but once they catch on to what you're trying to achieve they roll with it.
I can't really speak to any of that, as I didn't write your segment. If you want, you, Barbosa, and Miko can form a support group of guys who gave creative ideas and had them used against them. We'll let you use the AV room on Wednesday evenings after we're done getting high and watching Looney Toons.
Fucking right! I've had a lot of ideas since then but haven't pitched any of them because Holmes gets enough of the air time that should be mine by rights without me contributing to it, he's a traitor and his time will come. I'll also have justice for the stolen ideas of Barbosa and Nightmare, although they are no friends of mine.
I can understand why he's annoyed at that, although I'd laugh my arse off if I requested a certain spot that my character did and I ended up on the receiving end.
One short interview is almost never considered a whole RP, but I for one hate when someone writes an RP where they just throw in a random interview just so they can find a way to talk about their opponent. It's lazy, and if you're okay with being lazy then that's cool, but don't expect to win with lazy.
Yeah, I always say to people that if talking about your opponent doesn't come naturally into your RP then don't do it, if there is one thing I can't stand its reading RP's that have attempted to meet a certain criteria. Or tick the boxes or whatever.
I'd pretend to understand what you're going through, but I've always been awesome. In my first three matches I beat Johnny Scumm twice and then some other dude as well. But from what I hear, if you just keep trucking away you'll probably get the hang of it eventually. It worked for Krypto, it worked for Mr. Baller, and it can work for you too.
I won my first match then had a losing streak a mile long, including being, I haven't mentioned this but get this right, being "switched off" by Jack Skinner. I would pretend to have the answers but I don't. Some get out of it, others quit.
I just can't win.
I've been told to make my RP's longer and put more content in so I do for the last two rounds and get told its too much content for one RP.
Last round I was covering what IHW was going to have in his RP when he no showed.
Another thing is I realize I should have PM'ed creative but I just pissed off and wasn't using common sense.
Just write what entertains you and distance yourself emotionally from your character a little.
I want SHIT's Elite X title now Falkon, it's the least you can do.
Stop assuming I am going to win, I rarely win when I go in as the favourite.
One day I'll tell you guys the story of how S.H.I.T got "switched off" by this guy called Jack Skinner.
