WZCW Discussion Thread

It looks like a Studio Ghibli film. Plays like a Tales game from what I know of them. There's never been an FF game that looks like this.

I read one review that called it 'levelling up the game'.

I just came across THIS on the internet. I think I'm going to stop going there...

That joke really only works in an American accent.

Over here it doesn't sound that silly, besides I much prefer the subtle bad names like Jenna Taylor.

It's another bit of the old fed dying hard. MWE didn't necessarily require long RPs to win matches. But slow build through character development with a promo was kind of a stamp. It got pretty out of control towards the end of the run where I, the guiltiest of the guilty, would post a 10,000 word RP. I wasn't going for length, I just wanted to tell a good story. You can kind of see it coming out of me again but I'm trying to put a muzzle on it. Same with Slice, though he doesn't seem to be suffering the writers block that I was.

Sure does; except both Harthan and Infinity tend to have me beat in the RP length department - though mine are of better quality ;).

Wait, if we're going off length of RP's as the deciding factor I'm making a comeback. It's always nice adding a couple extra thousands words just through describing how I would maim my opponent in very unique fashions.

Fun fact, I hate RPs that just drag on. If you write a long RP, make sure it flows and keeps the reader entertained. Nothing worse than a big shit sandwich RP that requires more than one bite.

Agreed! I like to believe my RPs were pretty top notch in terms of storytelling. There requires a bit of investment through old RPs and some knowledge of history. Which doesn't make it easy for anyone here to read my sample RP. But of you were to read the three RPs before that, it's a huge arch in all the characters. The storylines twisted and collided regularly.

Me and Slice did a life swap RP, for a round where we faced each other. Because DC lost a death match of GTA IV against Whitman.

Here everything is built up like individual puzzle pieces through the rounds leading up to the PPV's, and then the story slate gets wiped clean again. I personally would rather see DC's partnership with Mason, and his accord with Mystique, develop bi weekly rather than reading some big huge one off - makes things easier to digest.

I don't work like that at all. I usually keep a huge storyline angle outside in DC's real life, and incorporate it show to show.

Example: I had DC and Lindsey constantly fighting and it was going to lead to them breaking up yet again. This went on for about three months. Disagreements and such, into yelling, and then pushing the button into domestic violence. It was intense. Throughout all of that, and the locations (Playboy Mansion, NYC hotel, an airport, etc, I still put emphasis on the match he had that round.

With TSA I have simultaneous angles going. I have a direction DC is going in his life as well as with his career. And everyone involved has a part to play to some extent. I pretty much make it up as I go, but stick with an overall plan. What you're seeing now wasn't supposed to happen til well after KC, but I bumped it up after two losses.
