Wyatt Family to debut soon

The Wyatt Family has the potential to be something very unique, and very special on the main roster. Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, and Eric Rowan are all oustanding big men, and the former Husky Harris has truly embraced his new persona. The key to making them work will be not to over expose them once they do arrive, and to keep them as a trio for as long as possible.

Wouldn't the Wyatt Family be an interesting feud or counterbalance to the Shield?

Imagine a Wyatt family debut where they come out of the crowd, attack Rollins and Reigns, and start the freshest most interesting fued on RAW. The Vigilante group of The Sheild and The cocky trash talking Wyatt family but the Wyatt's speak on their respect for superstars like Cena etc etc.. Idk I would just love that fued.

For this to work it has to be about subversion, 3 guys won't make this work long term, they have to get into the heads of beloved superstars and make them "drink the koolaid" so to speak.

Depending how far WWE wants to go as the characters as done so far could upset people, it's very "cult like" and again, WWE seems to be wanting to push those boundaries. So if they can recruit someone,, a Jericho or a Kofi then it'll really push buttons... Kofi would be an interesting choice if they want to avoid the "white trash/souther racist" tag that could be easily thrown at the group or if they really want to drive the religious guys nuts then have Christian drop his name in favor of something like Jason Wyatt! That would cause a lot of shit...

One thing WWE has to resolve, and I think they have by it's absence of last night's vignette was the "Time On My Side" sung riff that Wyatt uses... it's gonna cost a shitload of cash to The Stones to be allowed to use it, but if they do I think they have gold on their hands... of the NXT promos, those were the ones that really made the character click.

Aren't the WWE on good terms with the Stones having produced their New York gig last year?

Anyway onto the Wyatt Family. That was the best vignette in years. I've got a feeling the next few are going to be even more creepy so their debut will be much anticipated by the average WWE fan.

I also like the idea of a few recruits. Maybe they will use current main roster stars or use it as a way to bring up someone like Ohno or Corey Graves.

Very possible, as they're not talking about using the song as entrance music - just Wyatt would sing an off-key version of it at the end of promos that was real creepy - a bit like Elias Koteas in the movie Fallen. The music on the promos is fine for their entrance, but it'd be great to have them able to use that sung line to end every promo, to it's correct tune... It could be seen as a big outlay on a new talent for what is icing on the cake, but I am sure the Stones would be receptive as they seem to be all about the cash these days.

When WWE uses outsourced tunes like "Cult Of Personality" the band probably are grateful of the exposure and cash... But if it's a Stones or Hendrix then fees for those kind of acts are ridiculous, it cost them $650k just to use Voodoo Chile those few times for Hogan and they did it about twice before reverting to Real American.

I would prefer this not to just be a faction of "new talent" bringing an established name or two in will legitimize Wyatt in particular as his gimmick is that he gets in people's heads.

How would that cause a lot of shit? Are you serious? It would annoy regular fans like when Chavo changed his name to Kerwin White because it's stupid. Everyone knows who Christian is already. His name has absolutely nothing to do with religion.

Christian also wouldn't make any sense to join this group because he's an established star at a much higher level than these guys. If he joined, they'd expect him to be the leader. It's not logical.

Try thinking out your conclusions next time instead of just pasting irrational comments. Thanks.

Why would it "cause shit?" well first of you would have a "big name" being "brainwashed by a cult", indeed someone who started out as part of one and now being sucked back into that. That would be controversial.

That he wouldn't be the leader would also be controversial with fans, but they'd get it - if this goes how it's looking, Wyatt is main event off the bat like the Shield and Ryback were so that isn't actually a step down for Christian, considering he is offscreen and fully recovered. It wasn't a step down when Kama, who had been main eventing with Taker a bit before joined the Nation behind Farooq who hadn't main evented for WWE, nor when Goodfather and Val Venis got behind Stevie Richards as Right To Censors leader. You expect the previously big names to be the leader, but they weren't in those stables - you expected a big name to be in charge of the Nexus but it was Wade Barrett. Just cos you expect something doesn't mean it has to be how it is.

As for changing the name, fans would hate that but hopefully in a good way. I am sure there will be some who would draw religious significance to it, and the idea of cults is controversial full stop but fans love Christian as he is - if Wyatt corrupted and took him away from them to become one of his "family" then that is instantly going to make both men and the stable more important in WWE and lead to some great TV. Edge returning to plead with Christian only for him to put Edge down?

Whoever you put in there has to be physically different to the others. Now nothing I have said there is irrational or stupid, your interpretation and attack is...

I gotta admit that when I saw the Wyatt video on Raw, I was pretty happy. Finally a break from all the "Joe Normal"s the WWE has been feeding us. Don't get me wrong, Brodus and Tensai are a little out there, but these days they are very minor players that I doubt very many are even willing to take seriously anymore. The Wyatts, on the other hand, are weird and bizzare in a highly dangerous way and I think that's what the WWE needs to get interesting again. We need villains who are dangerous in interesting ways, not in the same old ways as everyone else, and I think the Wyatts have the potential to accomplish this...if the WWE will give them the chance.

I will say that one thing that these three have going for them is their ability to emote facially, especially Bray (even through partial masking) and that goes a much longer way than many people think.

Now as to who I'd like to see them target first, I would actually enjoy seeing them go after R-Truth. Play up the "southern racist" angle, but eventually reveal that they want to recruit him rather than take him out. The R-Truth character is already sketchy as hell (even as a face) and I think even a temporary alliance might do both Truth and the Wyatts good. Ultimately, though, I want to see the Wyatts (Bray especially) go after CM Punk. Since this Wyatt angle seems to be largely cult-based, I think it would be fitting to have Punk (who's been something of a cult-leader himself) be targeted by this new cult.

I just watched the Wyatt video today first time all week I had a chance to I can't wait for them to appear they are fresh and new to a full environment besides the shield we really don't have anything new we just got Curtis axel and now the Wyatt family I am loving this but these guys are all playing heels so the question for me is who is going to be the faces to fight them you can barely find 3 faces for the shield now you have to find 3 more faces for the Wyatt family and 1 more face for axel and to top it off orton is about to heel turn so how does the wwe fix this

I haven't seen NXT so I haven't seen them, but their vignette looked like an awesomly twisted movie. This seems like something different, and I am excited to see how it will translate to tv. I hope they are not booked in the same way as The Shield, but I expect good things from them. It seems like Husky harris found his niche here, and the other two look like a great supporting cast. I hope they do well with it, and I could see some great promos coming from these guys.

Can't wait until they debut. The whole gimmick is brilliantly gimmick and looks like it can have that Straight Edge Society idea to it because Bray Wyatt just looks like your southern sort of cult-leader with his bearded followers. In the UK we get NXT on television and i tune in every week and personally enjoy the Wyatt Family stuff.

Recently Bray Wyatt worked a match with Chris Jericho and it was good match that really showed the Family's capabilities and that match gives and idea that the family will work a program with Y2J which would be a good way to get them over even more because they are already some-what over.

I like Bray, hes big, fast and a good talker. Eric Rowan and Luke Harper ? Rowan looks like he has potential and looks like Harper can grow into an enforcer-Luke Gallows sort of role.

But i really can't wait for the family to debut.

On Monday Night RAW we saw a vignette promoting the debut of the Wyatt Family which are a brilliant stable from NXT. Since this is quite an intelligent forum of individuals I don't think I need to go into detail about their gimmick and what not. However what I do want to debate/discuss, is how WWE handles them after their debut.

I think its likely we'll see The Wyatt Family debut on an episode of RAW post Payback as I think they need a match at a PPV although I think MITB might not be the greatest of options since its usually such a stacked card. Nonetheless I think they'll debut just post Payback and it will be interesting to see how WWE does so.

There is one HUGE issue to begin with. The Shield. This stable are to many in the wrestling world 'the biggest thing' in Pro Wrestling right now so having two heel stables could become an issue within the WWE. Especially since WWE is throwing ridiculous names together to try and fight for the good cause against The Shield. I honestly think WWE will do the same thing with the Wyatt family before the two HEEL stables have no more competition and end up meeting in a huge match at Summerslam which is totally the WRONG thing to do.

As much as I hate to say this, I think you consistently and mostly start with the Wyatt family performing on SmackDown, so that they are seperated from The Shield. Also I think you don't build them as a "stable" so to speak, I think WWE needs to have them seem like an actual family. Unlike The Shield, they take punishment on a regular basis yet as seen in NXT embrace it.

They also need different goals than that of The Shield. The Shield's aspiration is to change the landscape of WWE and rid it of the usual leading stars (the usual stable mentality). Perhaps The Wyatt Family, look to enforce their way of living upon the roster instead. Also WWE please do not have them hire members in some ridiculous manner. I can just see it now on YouTube 'The night Mr MITB Curtis Axel' joined The Wyatt family.*Facepalm*

So to sum it up i'll give some appearances I have in mind:

Debut on post Payback RAW (They destroy Kofi Kingston)

Appearances on RAW/SmackDown (More promo's than wrestling unlike Shield in-ring)

MITB (Bray Wyatt vs Chris Jericho or a guy who can put him over)

Summerslam (Wyatt Family vs a new face stable)

The positive thing about The Shield is that they hold titles, so they don't perform as one anymore, something the WWE can use to differentiate them from the Wyatt Family.

Thoughts and opinions on how WWE handles The Family? Thanks for reading.

They look pretty impressive in the ring but there gimmick sucks....
I just hope WWE use them correctly, and not make them look unstoppable and then a joke like Tensi! on the bright side a new tag team in the tag division will be good just hope there win lose ratio is even because lately WWE have just thrown in new Superstars to the roster and make them win there matches and if they dont go over they just go on a losing streak :banghead:
