WWE's future-what excites you versus what bores you.

One needn't be a philosopher to understand the fact central to all existence- that nothing remains the same, change is the only constant.

In WWE's world, that change is clearly and emphatically signified by the return of the lovely and majestic Seth Rollins, and the departures of our beloved Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow.

With so much proliferation of the term "New Era", we have seen the debut of NXT superstars like Big Cass and Enzo, The Vaudevillains, Sami Zayn, and AJ Styles.

For years however, we had been bored and sick to death of John Cena and Randy Orton being in the mainevents, and weak challengers like The Miz and R-truth. All that has clearly changed now. We have truly entered an exciting time in Wrestling, especially considering the WWE's unmistakeable monopoly as the #1 US brand and a global brand. No one can claim TNA's superiority over WWE in the "Wrestling" department, which might've been true in 2008 when they had Kurt Angle, AJ Styles and Samoa Joe.

The WWE today is a splendid balance of Drama and in-ring spectacle.

You've got Drama/Story such as the return of Seth Rollins and the impending feud between him and Reigns.

You've got character development in superstars like Sheamus(as evidenced on Raw) and Baron Corbin.

You've got the best wrestlers in the world and diverse wrestling styles on a single show- Sheamus, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Cesaro, Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns, and Shinsuke Nakamura, Finn Balor, Austin Aries and Samoa Joe(once they debut on the main roster).

With all that said,

How excited are you about the future/present when it comes to the WWE product?

What do you find exciting and what are you bored/sick of?

You can list any number of different wrestlers/storylines/divisions in the WWE right now, to elaborate.

I am excited about:-

1)Seth Rollins. Seth Rollins IMO, is a gift of God to pro wrestling/WWE, a Shawn Michaels of the modern Era, the best overall wrestler/performer in the WWE today. No amount of eulogy and deification is enough. His mere presence is sheer joy and beauty. That's what I felt upon his entrance. Can't wait for him, as he is my #1 reason to watch the WWE/wrestling.

2)Sheamus' intensification and evolution from a dreary smiling Irishman to an asskicker.

3)AJ Styles, Cesaro, Sami Zayn, and Kevin Owens' future feuds/title wins.

4)Desperately anxious about the main roster debut of Shinsuke Nakamura and subsequent feuds with Lesnar, Orton, among others.

5)Chris Jericho's mic work as a heel has been hilarious as hell and I've been thoroughly enjoying them. Even though he lost the feud with Ambrose, I'm excited and thankful that Chris Jericho is still here and I hope to be thoroughly enjoyed as long as he's here.

6)Baron Corbin.

I'm bored/sick to death of:-

1)Roman Reigns. Well, I had just begun to find Roman Reigns entertaining, but I suppose I'm bored of his expressionless, unidimensional self as evidenced in the opening segment of Raw last night.

2)I'm sick to death of the New Day. Nothing about them is interesting or funny. I've been "at a loss" to their "Booty O" crap ever since they started it, and I usually prefer to change the channel when they're on because I just can't understand whatever they're speaking. As a result, I'm bored of the tag team division, I'm just not excited with Enzo/Cass or even the Vaudevillains.
I found the recent Goldust/R-truth segments and drama FAR MORE ENTERTAINING and authentic, however. I also realized lately that I love Fandango, and the pairing with Tyler Breeze is brilliant. I doubt Fandango and Breeze will ever be WWE tag team champs, though. (I can only wish/hope).

3)I was a bit impressed with Big Cass when Enzo got injured and they were pushing him as a singles wrestler. But by now, I've realized that his "how ya doin" and "sawft" schtick is boring as fuck. I am also not all that excited about Apollo Crews. Boring, tbh.

4)I'm apathetic about a few wrestlers and their storylines- such as The Miz as IC champ, Rusev the current US champ, Kalisto, Dean Ambrose, among others.

None of the newer guys have impressed me. Have to agree that Enzo and Cass are nothing but glorified jobbers. The whole "Catchphrase" thing only goes so far. If you aren't able to cut normal promos, people get fed up. Mark my words, they're gonna be jobbing to the Usos in a year.
People like Corbin or Apollo Crews are bound to go down the Sheamus/Rusev path. They'll have nothing to do in a couple of years and will be future endeavoured in 5.

The only guy I'm truly excited about is Kevin Owens. This guy can fight. Cut terrific promos. Has a great in ring psychology.
He's probably the best heel in the company after Jericho maybe.
Huge things are in store for him in the future.

What is exciting. Kevin Owens. Great entrance music, good on the mic, good character. K.O is the perfect throwback heel. He also happens to be very good in the ring as well. His in ring rants are always on target and he doesn't get repetitive. I have no doubt that this awesome Canadian will be a WWE Heavyweight Champion someday. The sooner, the better.

Bored to death. . I've hated the way WWE handles feuds for a long, long time. We have Raw for three hours and SmackDown. Approx 8 to 10 shows in between PPVs. WWE (for example) will build a WHC match between A.J Styles vs Roman Reigns. So they will fight 98% of the time on every show leading up to the PPVs. The feud lasting two PPVs we saw A.J vs Roman twice a week completely dulling the special shine or intrigue of the match up. Even though they ended up having great matches anyway, there was no need to fight twice a week. Jericho and Ambrose didn't have a wrestling match on every show. Remember Hulk Hogan vs The Ultimate Warrior? How special would it have been if they fought twice a week? Not very special at all. Find a better way to keep a main event match up from dulling.

Another thing that's boring. Trying to sell fans a Dean Ambrose hardcore match. Besides the good one with Kevin Owens, a Dean Ambrose hardcore match sucks hard. Extreme Rules cage match with Jericho should be the icing on the cake for WWE to open it's eyes. What I think is, Deans hands are so heavily tied on what he CANT do because of PG that his hardcore matches end up uninteresting. Supposedly he's had these insane hardcore matches before he came to WWE. I've been dumping on Dean Ambrose for awhile and it's because of the shitty booking he's getting with hardcore matches and boring stories. Once in awhile he will have a good match (Triple H and Owens ) but it's few and far between.

I am excited for:
Tag Division- I am completely on the opposite end of the spectrum from the op. I enjoy Enzo&Cass because of their tag team work, in the ring and on the mic they are perfect together. New day has been great and has basically carried the entire division for a while now. Anderson and Gallows will soon be added to the division. Hopefully the Usos will be given a heel turn soon and when they do I can see them excelling. Then there's the Revival and American Alpha in NXT who will be an amazing addition once they get called up. The tag team scene has the most potential it has had in over 15 years.

Main event scene- Don't jump on me for this, but I believe wwe is making the right decisions on who should carry them into the future. I don't mean in terms of Reigns being "the guy", but in terms of who will be their top guys. Reigns and Rollins are two great choices and I feel like Owens and AJ will also be chosen. (not being too optimistic though as wwe can easily disappoint)

And this is were me and the OP are on opposite end of the spectrum again.

I cannot help but disagree.
I've hated how we see guys fight each other over and over again before their ppv matches. And then when we do get that rare feud were we don't see countless fights between the two, they are given dumb in ring segments like Miz tv or in Ambrose's/Jericho's case a segment about a jacket.
a similar issue I have is...

None of the newer talents are able to carry a segment on the mic(few exceptions being Bray, Enzo, Woods...)- For example, this past Raw. Charlotte is great at getting heat and one of the better talkers in the women's division, but that segment with Ric was atrocious. Then they followed that up with Aj and Anderson& Gallows breaking up, which was completely random and lacked any emotion. I know they do in ring segments for the audience in attendance, but I would rather watch a well done segment on the big screen than a train wreck in the ring.

I agree with you, to some degree, but it's a different time. Circa 1990, WWE's television programming was made up mostly of clips of wrestling matches taking place at house shows and a good many of those matches shown were squash matches. In this day & age, millions of people aren't going to tune in for 2 or 3 hours to watch a wrestling program if it doesn't feature marquee wrestling matches each week.

I feel a potential answer, and I do mean potential as there's a lot of ways it could go wrong, would be to cut back on the number of matches on TV and make the matches that are on the show longer. One of those potential problems, however, could be those who're wrestling in the matches themselves. For instance, not a whole lot of people will be scrambling to the TV each Monday night to see a 25 minute match between the Golden Truth and Fandango & Tyler Breeze. That's especially true with the mind set of a lot of modern fans who will crap all over a match if it isn't packed with enough high spots for them, doesn't feature a former independent star, has wrestlers who weigh at least 250 lbs. etc.; for instance, Big Cass has shown to have some talent as a big guy in the ring and on the mic, but let's see down the line how many fans turn on him if he winds up getting a bigger push than Enzo does.

How excited are you about the future/present when it comes to the WWE product?

I'm excited a a few things actually. First the resurgence of the tag team division. For a long time it looked like they were really in a bad way with only a few teams to battle it out. That's why I think the Uso's are getting boo'd now. They have become stale, but with the Bullet Club, New Day, Lucha Dragons, Dudley's and the addition of Enzo and Cass, the division is looking like it might be on the right track.

Another thing is the plethora of exciting feuds in the mid card, which in some cases rival the main event. Between Cesaro, Owens, Zayn, Miz, Jericho and the rest, for once the mid card is looking great. Not like in the past couple of years where it was kind of boring and watching paint dry was more exciting.

The women's division has come alive with Banks, Lynch, Paige and Charlotte actually being able to wrestle. Can't wait for Bayley to get called up, I have a feeling she will be the new female Daniel Bryan.

NXT and what it has to offer with regards to great wrestlers waiting in the wings who can put on fantastic matches. Kudo's to HHH for going out and getting these guys. Notice has been served to the main roster players, screw up and there is someone else just as good waiting to take your spot. Makes everyone want to perform and showcase themselves better.

Seth Rollins coming back, the Crossfit Jesus himself. I can't wait for him to tear into the main event scene and get his title back. Heel or face I've missed him and so happy he's healthy and raring to go.

The eventual culmination of the Bullet Club, Styles and Balor storyline. I have a feeling it will rival the Shield if the WWE can do it right. It should be one hell of a feud and I can't wait.

Nakamura and Asuka to debut on the main roster. Those that don't watch NXT and have no idea who they are should get a thrill out of seeing them in action. As long as they are left alone to just go their thing, any feud they get into should be a good one.

What are you bored/sick of?

I hate to say it but Dean Ambrose and his half hearted attempts at hardcore matches. There is only so much you can do in a PG era, and unless you can go all out balls to the walls, there is no point. They come off looking lame and unfortunately for Dean they are hurting him and any credibility he has left. He is a great talent but so misued by the bookers.

Roman Reigns. I was and still am a huge Shield mark, and loved them as a group and was a fan of all of them when they split. Reigns though even though he's been farting rocket fuel, to me never felt right with the push he's been getting. I'm not talking about his wrestling or mic skills, he just looks like a deer caught in headlights out there in the middle of the ring. It's hard to explain he just doesn't look comfortable in the ring holding the title. Maybe it's knowing that it didn't matter what he did, he was going to get it, I just don't know.

Alberto Del Rio. I'm sorry the guy just bores me to the point when he comes out to the ring, I leave the room to do something. Same with Sheamus. Just cannot get into their acts at all, and I don't even want to try and watch them anymore. Not saying they aren't good wrestler's, their gimmicks suck to me anyway.

I'm sure there are more and I'll add to the list as I think of them. Good subject for a thread though.

What I'm excited for:

Finn Balor. I'm an unashamed Balor mark, and it's only partially because I'm Irish. His promos still need work, but there are so many matches waiting for him on the main roster, including the showdown with Zayn we never got to see. And a match with Cena will be awesome. I just hope Vince likes him as much as Triple H does.

Ambrose. After that clusterfuck of a match against Jericho, I'm hoping they get Ambrose back on track. I know he divides opinion on here, but I think he cuts some of best promos in WWE today, his mic work against Lesnar and Triple H being the best examples. And if WWE wants the eventual Shield triple threat to have the right impact, Ambrose needs to be on the same level as Reigns and Rollins. I'm hoping he takes the Money in the Bank.

Zayn and Owens. They're just really good.

What I'm not looking forward to...

Another Seth Rollins title reign. I've only just recovered from the turd that was his first title reign. Maybe he'll be better as a babyface champion, I don't know. But as a heel champion, he's really bad. Full of dull promos and mediocre matches.

What Im Excited For :

New Stars, New Feuds, New Matches: This excites me because it brings fresh and exciting match ups and rivalrys. Just look at the roster we have today ( which is growing ) and you can see potential in some very entertaining match ups, the likes of Cena Vs Styles, Crews or Nakamura , Styles Vs Hideo , Neville or Finn Balor ... An eventual Shield vs Balor Club/The Club showdown , We could even finally get the long awaited Orton Vs Lesnar showdown ... and you could just go on and on ... That excites me.

·The Brand Split: Me personally, I've always been a fan of the brand split because although the product did become stale at one point, i was brought up watching Smackdown during the latter part of the attitude era through to the end of the ruthless aggression era. Honestly those were some of the best years of my life because i was able to watch Eddie Guerrero , Rey Mysterio, Taker, the guy who's name we shall not speak, Kurt Angle, Batista ,The Dudleys, RVD, Booker T , Big Show and also a young HEEL John Cena ...( Which also brings me to another reason why im optimistic about the future, but I'll get back to that later.) it all made for some compelling story lines and great matches and memorys over the years , moments such as the ring collapse in the Lesnar Vs Big Show match, the Ironman match between Lesnar And Angle that went to a whole hour , the Eddie/Cena Parking lot Brawl... Or the time when Eddie shockingly turned on Rey. What I'm trying to say is people give the Brand Split too much shit when it brought others great memorys. I think this time around it would work because of all the talent we have at hand, not to mention the talent down in Nxt, and the great storylines and feuds that could be put together with said talent.

John Cena Heel/Tweener Turn : Theres still time to pull the trigger and I think the time is approaching. With Cena positioned to be the top dog on smackdown, does that necessarily mean he has to be a Face ? He could return as a pissed off cena with a different attitude, out of nowhere... Upset at the fact that most of these young guys have came into the WWE on his downtime and are threatening his spot at the top of the card, where he hasn't truly been in over a year and some change. It would make sense, he wouldn't be upset at the fans , but he would take it out on other wrestlers, Heel or Face , start the build up with Cena almost coming into blows with Shane over his position on the card , Shane gives Cena a #1 contenders match against up and coming star such as Neville , Apollo or Balor , Only to come up short and lose his shit after the match ... Similar to Batista heel turn against Rey.

What I Am NOT Excited For -

·Roman Reigns Multiple Championship Runs: While i personally am not really much of a Roman fan nor am i a hater, i am opposed to him playing hot potato with the world title as he is already in his 3rd reign ... 5 years or maybe even less from now and he will surpass Triple H maybe even cena in championship reigns. I just feel like other top stars who have been there for a longer amount of time or fan favorites like Rollins, Cesaro, Ziggler, Owens , Zayn And Styles deserve a moment to shine.

·The Authority: At some point they'll be coming back to TV for the blow off feud with Shane McMahon, which is necessary imo but if they stick around further than that i really have no interests in their shenanigans. The angle has become stale, the whole power figure angle is boring and cliche.

Excited For: The plethora of talent in every WWE Division.

Singles: Cesaro, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura, Finn Balor, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, Baron Corbin, Apollo Crews etc.

Tag: SAWFT, Vaudevillains, Double A's, The Revival, The New Day, Gargano/Ciampa, TM61, Dudleyz etc.

Women: Paige, Becky, Sasha, Charlotte, Bayley, Asuka, Natalya, Emma.

Talent is huge. All they need is good storytelling.

Bored of: (i) Reigns in main event.

(ii) The Uso's boring presence.

(iii) Ziggler

These 3 are just boring to me now in their respective positions.
