Getting Noticed By Management
The Road Warriors, The Four Horsemen, The Brain Busters, Power And Glory, Money Inc., The Rock And Sock Connection, The Rockers, Kronik, Styles and Daniels, The Steiner Brothers, The Killer Bees, The British Bulldogs, Evolution, The Dudley Boyz, The Naturals, Public Enemy, The Hollywood Blondes, The Blackjacks, the Rockers, Eddie and Chavo, The Nasty Boys, Demolition, The Powers Of Pain, Harlem Heat, The New Age Outlaws, America's Most Wanted, Disco Inferno and Alex Wright, yeah, and the list goes on and on. Do you know what they all have in common? They competed in tag team divisions, which seem to be pretty much nonexsistant in the WWE these days.Seriously, when was the last time you really saw a great WWE Tag Team Program running? Answer; Not For a long time.
It's true, it's damn true, to quote a certain red white and blue clad bald wrestler at TNA. The sadness has to come to play in the fact that The Miz and John Morrison are considered so great because they held the Tag Team Titles for so long, but let's be honest, who did they really beat? Where is the Tag Team division even at? It makes me wonder where WWE is taking things these days. Mind you, I seem to remember when Tag Teams were thrown together because two guys really went well together, and some have become staples in the industry because they just can't survive as singles competitors like the LOD and the Dudley Boyz, but where are we going?
Cody and Ted are a step in the right direction, but where is the competition for them even? It's so bad that they decided to have them take on Lawler and Hacksaw Jim Duggan. This match would have been okay, but the point is, does it really feel like there is even a division anymore? It has become such a joke they just decided to do the jerk thing and have Duggan taken from the team and have them beat the Hell out of Michael Cole. Wow, this really proved something didn't it? Don't you remember being excited to see who was Tag Team Champions because they beat so many other teams and proved themselves because those teams were established? Or they were the new up and coming group that was going to put a hurting on the other Tag Teams out there? Remember how upset, or excited as it may be, when Shawn Michaels and Marty Janetty broke up as the Rockers? Why? Because they were good as a team and established by beating great teams. Where did those days go?
I'm telling you that if things keep up the way that they are, the Tag Team Championships will end up like the Cruiserweight title did; Nonexsistant. As it is, the Tag Teams are slim pickins these days. It's like the only reason WWE pulls one out of the shadows anymore is to help someone out like say Ryder and Hawkins with Edge or Crime Time with John Cena. It just bugs me, do you even feel that there is any value to the Tag Team Titles at all anymore? I have a way to fix this problem and liven up the Tag Team division all together.
First of all, WWE takes the current WWE Tag Team Champions and the World Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and have them square off. Who ever the winner is becomes the undisputed Tag Team Champions of the world. Yeah, I know that this sounds strange at first, but bear with me here for a moment folks, there's a reason for this. Now you have one set of individuals that are the Tag Team Champions of the World, or WWE as it is, and what to do now? They can defend the titles on all three shows! Obviously they wouldn't do all three shows at the same time, but look at it this way, it makes building Tag Teams easier and the divisions are not as useless seeming as they are now. It also adds competition to the mix and makes the Champion that much more believeable and all three shows can vie for the same championship, adding the appeal of the brand competitions as well. Obviously, it's an idea that needs wrinkles ironed out, but it's a bigger and better step, I think, than what WWE is doing right now with the whole thing.
This would be a great way to do it I think because it is a way to add prestige and competition back to a division that has been sorely lacking for the last year and longer. Might even make the Tag Team Titles more desireable for the wrestlers as well. You could really get some heat behind a heel group if they are traveling to all three brands scouting their competition and taking them out and what have you. Just my two cents worth, but what do I know? Not like I am a multimillionaire like Vince McMahon is, yeah? I am just a fan is all.
