After winning a fiveway elimination match on last night's Raw, Emma won the right to face Asuka in her debut match at TLC.
Emma was the perfect choice in this situation as you just have to sense that Asuka's first main roster match will see her decimate her opponent. Emma is a better choice than Dana Brooke or Alicia Fox as she's better in the ring but, like them, she hasn't done squat. For the most part, Emma is and has been little more than a jobber her entire time on the main roster. Bayley and Sasha Banks are two opponents that need to be saved later on down the line as they're two of the three women who've been the centerpiece for the Women's Evolution on the main roster the past few years. Nia Jax is too dominant to just be "fed" to Asuka as if Asuka got by Nia Jax with little to no trouble, then you'd pretty much need to just go ahead and put the title on Asuka and let her keep it considering how Nia has been pretty dominant.
If Emma were to put up a competitive match, I'd be okay with it but I don't think that'll happen here because Emma simply isn't a major player in WWE and never really has been. If you want to feed someone to an arriving star, Emma is someone you use rather than a monster heel or multiple Women's Champions.
