WWE Money in the Bank: Summer Rae VS Layla (with Fandango as special guest referee)

This didn't have a thread yet, but WWE has it as a match for Money In the Bank 2014 so let's get some discussion in on this one!

This feud has gotten a lot of time onscreen to develop. It's had more attention than the Divas Championship feud. So, why aren't these girls getting into the title scene while Paige gets stuck facing someone like Naomi? It should be ok as far as divas matches go but it won't be anything special. Fandango and Summer were a better couple than Fandango and Layla in my opinion. I'm hoping to see Summer win this and get a bit of momentum going into a possible Divas Championship match with Paige later down the line. Layla doesn't need the win here. I expect some type of finish to where Layla might remain with Fandango afterwards but Summer ultimately wins the match itself. It probably goes on in the earlier half of the night in between the tag team matches or something.

WWE seem to be pushing Summer Rae. She's on Total Divas and she just finished filming The Marine 4. But I could always see Fandango screwing her (not that way, you pervs) out of a win for Layla. I'll stick with Summer as the winner though.

I think WWE have done a great job with this one Storyline wise and its the first time in a while I have actully looked forward to seeing a Divas match. Summer Rae is obviously the favourite to win this one and I can see both Ladys kicking Fandango to the curb at the conclussion of the match.

Summer Rae is only believable as a heel, but since she's going to be promoting Marine 4, she's going to be a face for a while...

She's terrible. On Total Divas she's bad. On the mic she's bad. In the ring she's mediocre.

Summer Rae wins this match, to promote Marine 4.

This feud seems a little weird to me, since they decided to turn a Total Divas storyline into a wrestling angle. If you didn't see it on Total Divas, there was an episode where Summer Rae went on a date with Fandango (this was during the time when Summer & Fandango were still "dance partners" on WWE TV). Fandango seemed like he was into her, and they went as far as to get pretty drunk and make out on Fandango's couch. After some seemingly intense kissing for about a minute or so (with Summer literally on top of Fandango, like a total ****-bag), she stopped and said something to the effect of "I'm not into you". That's weird in itself, since it looked like she was throwing herself at Fandango all night during their "date". Who knows how much of that was "real" to begin with, since even though it's "reality" TV sometimes it's scripted...although Summer does come across as a ****e in "real life", no matter how you look at it. lol

Regardless of how "real" it was on Total Divas, Summer Rae said she wasn't into Fandango. Then they have Fandango "dump" Summer via twitter, and partner up with Layla...who then have a kayfabe romance on WWE TV. Summer then gets jealous of the relationship? She even goes as far as to kiss Fandango herself, in front of Layla? The whole thing doesn't make much sense to me, and I don't understand why anyone is supposed to feel empathy for Summer Rae in this situation. She was acting like a tramp, leading Fandango on, then Fandango decided to move on with another girl (kayfabe or not). Once Fandango is "happy" with another girl, that's when Summer comes back into the picture. They should have gone the other way, making Fandango/Layla the faces in this feud (if you ask me), or done more to make Summer's feelings look hurt or something. The way they did it just makes Summer look like a slore (combination of ****/****e); I guess the WWE Universe is supposed to cheer for slores. I don't particularly like the blurring of Total Divas/WWE stories like this, but I'm sure this is just the first of many. Total Divas is a popular show, so they're probably going to do more Real World/Jersey Shore stuff like this in the future.

Regarding the outcome of the match, there are several avenues to consider. Fandango pulls a fast count for Layla (or possibly Summer, if they want to go that route), refuses to count at all for Summer (which is somewhat likely), or "accidentally" costs Layla the match somehow (causing "friction" in their relationship). The latter is most likely, IMHO. Fandango will probably call the match down the middle, and have to count the 1-2-3 on his "girlfriend". Summer winning the match would not only give her the "satisfaction" of proving she's "better" than Layla, but also she'll be satisfied because of the turmoil she caused in Fandango's love life. That makes for the most interesting story arc moving forward, and probably what they'll do (if they're smart). That also can potentially put more heat on Fandango & Layla, leading to them wanting to exact some "revenge" on Summer. Either way, this feud will most likely continue for a little while longer; possibly culminating at Battleground, or maybe even SummerSlam.
