Maybe, but if the WWE has been trying to make Cena more likable for the smarks, having him be the one to end Punk's streak would totally undo all of that.

Then again, WWE might just say, fuck the smarks, all we care about is the money, and then putting the belt on Cena makes sense.

Still, I'd rather see Cena do something else and Punk keep going on a seemingly unstoppable reign. Let Punk call for Cena instead of Cena call for Punk.

No, I agree. The problem is, who else can Punk work with now? Miz is leagues below Punk, and I don't think the WWE wants to play the Cena card yet. I'd like to see Bryan lift the title off of Punk, but the ensures at least two more title matches between the two.

You have a very valid point. They really have no heels at his level. I think Cena will be the guy, like Nate said if Cena wins later I think at Summer Slam they will have a match and Cena takes it. Punk and Cena are great together and losing the title will help Punk refresh a bit, as much as I have loved him with the belt

Dude, that was the most EASILY discernible story I've ever seen in a professional wrestling ring that doesn't involve a David vs. Goliath angle.

Punk and Daniel Bryan wanted to win the championship, and AJ wanted them to fight over her. Daniel Bryan played into that desire, but Punk didn't. Sometime during the chairshots to Punk, AJ decided she didn't like them fighting over her anymore, and she started calling it down the middle. Then it turned into who can outlast who, and in the end it was Punk who could outlast Bryan.

I'm usually pretty hard on these guys (because that's not Slyfox has to be), and even I thought that was a pretty superb match.

All I get is the story that the poor crazy girl is confused on which man she wants to end up with ala the twilight effect in every pop culture these past few years. The action in the ring is not needed to tell the story because the two men fighting has no consequence in how the story will progress.
