WWE Extreme Rules: WWE Tag Team Championship - New Day (c) VS The Vaudevillains

Due to winning #1 contender's tournament by default, since their match with Enzo & Cass was stopped Sunday night, the Vaudevillains will be facing New Day at Extreme Rules for the WWE Tag Team Championship.

The Vaudevillains have gotten an okay response from fans, English & Gotch are pretty decent on the mic and they're building some decent heat by bragging about injuring Enzo. They've yet to have a really big moment on the main roster yet and I'm hoping that a strong match at Extreme Rules could be that big boost they need to cement themselves as a formidable team going forward instead of heading down the same road as the Ascension.

With that being said, there's very, very little chance of New Day dropping the titles to the Vaudevillains. While no special stipulation was named, I'm assuming that there'll be no DQ in this match, but the Vaudevillains aren't ready for the tag titles. They've made decent progress, in my opinion, as I alluded to, but there's still room to grow and they need that growth before they even think of putting the titles on them.

I am not sure about who should win this.

Vaudevillains surely need a big win for gaining credibilty. New Day have been tag champions since a long time. So I think that Vaudevillains need the win much more considering that they are heels and New Day is face now.

If New Day would have been heel, I would have have wanted Enzo/Cass to defeat them. But since they are faces now, Vaudevillains can be the right choice to dethrone them.

Infact it is only choice WWE has. Enzo is injured so Enzo/Cass is not possible. I don't want & see another Usos' tag champ reign. Dudleyz are just lurking there. Lucha Dragons isn't possible too. PTP is also not possible. Maybe Primo & Epico? Just maybe.

So I conclude that we should get new champs via some heel tactics like debut of Vaudevillains' manager, etc.

New Day needs 30 more days in order to break Paul London and Brian Kendrick's record of holding the WWE Tag Team Championship for 331 days (New Day is at 304). I think New Day deserves to break it.

If the WWE Tag Team Championship, is equivalent to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship when it comes to divisions, then Vaudevillains should not win at Extreme Rules. What WWE can do, is build up a heel tag team this year and have them dethrone the New Day. Then have Enzo & Cass win those belts at Wrestlemania and then have a big money-maker match between the New Day and Enzo & Cass at Summerslam 2017.

But, Vaudevillains should not win those yet and the New Day should retain, for now, in order to break the record and also bring even more prestige to the championship belts.

Same think as Payback, the Vaudvillans win now or never. They're a nothing gimmick team who'll go nowhere. I expected them to win at Payback and then go on to claim the titles, though now I'm not so sure. However they could have a short reign as it'd make sense for Enzo's triumphant return should coincide with him and Cass winning the belts.

I say New Day wins but after the match The Dudley Boyz attack New Day. We get New Day vs. The Dudleyz again this time with New Day as the faces and Dudleyz as the heels at MITB, Battleground.

I think Gallows and Anderson will be the guys to take the titles off New Day, perhaps at Summerslam.

Meanwhile, Enzo should be back soon and Enzo and Cass would face The Vaudevillians to avenge Enzo's injury.

Did anyone else on these boards ever think that when we first saw New Day they would end up being this entertaining. Not only that they stand a good chance of breaking the record. I know I didn't.

Honestly, not at all. I thought they'd be just another coon tag team that would have been broke up. I hated the gospel promos when they first teased their debut as New Day. I was hoping they would have been like a new age Nation of Domination but what they're doing now is way better. They're being themselves, putting on great matches and consistently putting on entertaining segments.

So as I wanted, The New Day retained their tag titles against The Vaudevillains.

Now I may be wrong but I disliked the finish of this match. Match was good enough but why would New Day as babyfaces use heel tactic to win a match against another heel team?

About the match, Getting Xavier Woods in place of Kofi was refreshing. Woods is very under-rated in-ring work wise. I loved to see him wrestle in TNA.

Numbers game was in favour of the champions. I think that Vaudevillains may win the titles via the debut of a manager to even the odds.
