WWE Extreme Rules: The Miz VS Cody Rhodes (Pre-Show)

The Miz made his return to WWE television last night and it was announced that he'll be facing Cody Rhodes during the Extreme Rules pre-show.

There's going to be little interest in this match, even though it has the potential to be entertaining. Neither guy is just all that high on the totem pole these days. Miz has gone from main eventing WrestleMania as WWE Champion to wrestling on the pre-show for the past two WWE ppvs. Cody Rhodes, a young guy with all the promise in the world and who was a rising star just this time last year, is kinda wallowing in the mid-card doldrums.

I see Miz picking up the win here if for no other reason than just getting back from filming a movie for WWE.

I don't get why they need this match in the Pre-Show, let alone need this match at all. If you're going to make something interesting, why not let Wade Barrett defend his Intercontinental Title or something like that? At least then you get a title match on the Pre-Show and not something that has no need to be there. I'm not annoyed at the match, this could be quite good, albeit extremely short. However, what I'm annoyed at is the fact that the WWE want to put on a Pre-Show, but can't think of anything GOOD to put on that would actually make us want to watch it.

Disappointing and it's pretty obvious that Miz will win this one, pretty quickly.

I really hope Cody gets something going soon. My patience is wearing thin with him now. Let's just hope they give him a $$$ in the Bank briefcase this year.

I actually think it's good they're not having him face Barrett so soon. It's pretty obvious this feud will pick up right after ER and for him to just return and take the title immediately just makes Barrett look worse than he already does. Better Miz win his first meaningless PPV match back than win his first PPV match back that supposed to mean something, but really doesn't because all the previous build up faded away due to his absence.

But yes, it's a clear Miz victory here. Not like anyone will see it.

Talk about a match that was just thrown together rather quickly. Its a shame this match if it was built properly had the potential to be a good match. I have no doubt it is still going to be a good match but it could have been better if it was built properly.

The Miz probably is gonna pick up the win only because he got done filming the Marine 3. I dont know why Cody is wallowing in the weeds he is a great performer but for whatever reason,the higher ups just dont see it in him. Cody brought prestige back to the IC title made it a credible title again. The Miz just sorta keeps going down and down. His last two PPVs (WM wise)have been pre-show thats how far he has fallen. I want cody to win but the Miz is the logical choice here..

A very uninteresting and disappointing match-up.

Miz continues to flounder in the mid-card as a dreadful face, but I think he'll pick up the win here. Cody Rhodes is....well he's just there now. Seemingly, WWE doesn't have any big or significant plans for either man, but Miz is inches ahead of Cody for relevancy and importance in WWE, so he should pick up the win.

The people who say Miz is a boring face are the same people who said he was a bland heel who "desperately" needed to turn face. I don't know what people want or expect.

I am never a fan of thrown together matches, and this one again will have very little interest. Miz just got back from doing his movie so I think he will pick up the victory here, and I sure hope he and Cody move onto something better after this.

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of either of these two guys. However, I had predicted that Cody would have a "breakout" year if you will. Cody hasn't reached my prediction, yet although the year isn't over. I also, as others have said, am not a fan of thrown together matches made at the last minute. However, looking back at WrestleMania, Rhodes didn't even have a match. If I remember correctly, his match with Sandow against Tons of Funk was scrapped due to lack of time remaining or what not. Cody has a little momentum going into ER. Miz won the IC Title at Mania in the pre-show only to lose it in the next night on RAW. Miz gets the unfortunate distinction to wrestle another pre-show match at ER. I think I'll go with Cody pulling this one off in the end.

I can't say that I'm excited for this match in the least bit. It deserves to be the pre-show. All of the matches on the actual card interest me more than this does. I'll be rooting for Rhodes to win, he needs it more. My main issue here is that this match just doesn't seem like a big deal at all. Why should I care about this match? WWE has done next to nothing to spark my interest in it. I probably will end up watching anyhow out of boredom but still.... They need to be working on generating interest even in the pre-show matches. Rhodes and moves on to more important feuds and Miz, well I guess he moves on to more MizTV segments featuring stars more relevant than him.

Well this was unexpected, the pre-show match is going to suck. Now, don't get me wrong if this match would have some kind of momentum/build up it could be interesting to see these two, but since it's a random match, well what the fuck can you expect.

Like Dagger said, Rhodes needs to score a win more than Miz but since Miz is a "star" in shitty movies, he is probably going to win. I haven't notice his abscence actually... Anyway crappy match with Miz winning even if Rhodes needs it.
