At Extreme Rules, a clear winner will finally be established in the volatile rivalry between two of the most decorated Superstars in WWE, as Chris Jericho battles Edge inside a career-threatening Steel Cage.

“Spear” has become the word of ultimate consequence for Chris Jericho over the past couple of months. Although he overcame The Rated-R Superstar at WrestleMania, his celebration was cut short when his enraged opponent Speared him off the broadcast table. On SmackDown five days later, The Ultimate Opportunist repeated his devastating maneuver. Little did he know the opportunity he was creating was for another Superstar.

I feel edge will win this one. I like edge and jericho equally, but I think since Edge hasn't beaten jericho yet since his return means that he will probably win the steel cage match, But I'm sure it will be a good match. I remember theye had a steel cage match against each other back in 2003 or 2004, and it was an awesome match. Let's hope this will be as good.

A steel cage match just doesn't belong in on a pg show. Regardless if there is blood or not, the point of a steel cage should not be on PG show of any kind.

Enlighten us on what the point of a steel cage is then since you know so much about them.

This should be a good match like their Wrestlemania encounter was. I was surprised that Jericho won at WM so I'm expecting Edge to beat Jericho inside the cage. I can see a Edge/Swagger feud after Extreme Rules and I have no idea what the future holds for Jericho. Y2J has a good track record in steel cage matches so don't be shocked if he comes out the victor.

I really enjoyed the match Edge and Jericho had at Wrestelmania, and I'm glad to see their feud continue. I think Edge will win this match because he will probably be next in line for a feud with Jack Swagger for the World Heavyweight Championship. Jericho will probably wonder around on the mid card for a while after this. There's a chance Jericho could feud with Edge again, but I think that will only happen IF Edge is the champion.

This should be an awesome match, and I'm definitely looking forward to this one.

hmmm well since Edge lost at Mania I guess hes goign to win this one and Im sure that is going to be better than their match at Mania. and I think they will go on with their feud cause (if Edge wins) they will be 1-1 and to determine who is better one last macth but i think it will be on SD! oh by the way a cage match with no blood and a hell in a cell without blood are equally crappy they dont have much difference

Their match at Wrestlemania was very good and their feud has been excellent. All of the matches they've had have been solid and i cant wait for this match. I think Edge will win this one, but im very hesitant to say so. I thought edge would win at WM with all the spear talk and that didnt happen. But i think since Jericho won at WM, edge will win this one.

One thing i really want out of this match is a cage match where you must escape to win. I cant stand when they allow you to win via pin or submission in a cage match. It essentially makes it a HIAC match without a roof. What makes a cage match good is the fact that you have to escape to win.

What I believe will happen here is an upset victory by Chris Jericho who in spite of his injury will manage to overcome Edge inside the Steel Cage. Edge will seemingly dominate Jericho within the cage, superplexing Jericho off the top of the Steel Cage, and following it up with a Spear. Edge will be worn out and have a difficult time climbing at which point Jericho will use his Code Breaker on an unsuspecting Edge from around the top turnbuckle at which point Jericho will be unchallenged to escape the Steel Cage. Alternatively, Edge dominates Jericho and just as before, superplexes Chris leading into a Spear, and Edge's easily climbing the Steel Cage to pick up the win IF he is booked to win it. Should be interesting to see a Steel Cage match in the PG era, but it being a pay-per-view, I'm not too worried as to the degree of violence being watered down. If nothing also, this match should be similar to any of the Hell in a Cell matches from the eponymous pay-per-view from yesteryear: just a regular wrestling match confined to the ring.

What if they did something like Bigshow vs JBL steel cage match but they have Chris Jericho win by Edge spearing Jericho through one side of the steel cage in stead of being speared through the ring. No blood needed or anything and could send he fans home happy. But Jericho is too injured to compete in the title match he gets then Edge will get the title shot instead . I'm only saying it will go out like that because Chris Jericho is supposed be taking time off anyway. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't think this rivalry ends this soon.I can see these two feuding all over the 2010.

I think both man can be winners.Fatal 4-way PPV is not too far and that means at least Jericho and Edge will meet each other once again a month later,and it raises the chance of both man winning.

If any of these 2 suppose to be drafted to RAW , I can see Edge win the match to end the rivalry.But if they're gonna stay on Smackdown , then I think odds will be on Jericho's side.

Edge can't beat Jericho.This was one of their rivalry's aspect.All Edge can do about Jericho is spearing him.So if they want to go on with this feud , they'd better let Jericho win , and give Edge the victory in a bigger event , like Summerslam.

Steel cage matches are always good encounters.I liked the steel cage match between Batista and Mysterio last year on SD and i think it proved they still can do good cage matches in a pg show.I know there is no chance that we see a classic like HHH/Flair but we may see a quality match.I prefer to see somebody escaping the cage to win the match.I think pinfalls or submissions shouldn't be allowed in a steel cage match.Especially after creation of HIAC.

By the way I enjoy their feud , they're both great workers and i never mind watching them wrestling.

This needs to be a #1 contenders match or something, and it makes sense, cause with the steel cage you have to have a winner. The double count out thing was stupid last week. Well okay, first of all double count outs are stupid. Second of all, in a number one contenders match, why would the ref do a double count out? It's not real obviously, but still, the booking was stupid. Their Mania encounter was good, but now that they aren't feuding over a title, it needs something else. Hopefully PG won't be the demise of this match. A match like this needs to be brutal, and I don't see it being like that. Regardless though, it should be a decent match at least.

Look for Edge to win and probably feud with Swagger for the title. I think Jericho will probably get drafted to Raw so then he's out of the picture.

I don't think these two need anything but each other to feud over right now. The whole point is that they have a personal issue with each other, hence why they keep attacking each other even when a title match is out of the question.

I was just wondering if a steel cage match is the best possible match for this feud. I think a ladder match would suit this booking far better. Last years Ladder match at extreme rules between Hardy and Edge was pretty good and there was no blood, Whats your thoughts

To be honest, I don't know who will win, but im expecting Edge to win this one since Jericho won at WM26.It should be an interesting match, a cage match aswell, we never really saw these two in a match all them years ago, mostly because they were both heels and not on the same show, so this should be rather entertaining to see what these two do in the ring. Because there isno belt involved, it would be interesting to see which one comes on top of the other and who performs the best.

I think there feud will continue after this,both challenging for the World title and at the ppv fatal four way, we could see a fatal four way between Y2J, Edge, Orton and Swagger...who knows?

I see Edge winning the match and their feud continuing beyond Extreme Rules, and ending @ the Over the Limit PPV....you obviously couldn't end the feud with both stars winning one a piece against each other, and I wouldn't understand the reasoning in having Jericho beat Edge twice

I doubt it will top their Wrestlemania match.... but the addition of the steel cage gimmick will make this another great match for Edge and Jericho. I think it will be the match of the night unless Orton VS Swagger ends up being as good as it sounds. They have been mentioning Edge's injury in the storyline and how Jericho wants to make it worse. This leads me to predict that Edge will lose this match and take some time off because he might not be fully healed yet.... that was an injury that's nearly impossible to recover from, so Edge needing more time to heal is always likely. The match will be great no matter who wins though. Jericho's got my vote and he will probably win by escaping the cage after (kayfabe) re-injuring Edge.

This match will be great. These guys have good chemistry in the ring and always produce top notch matches. Its a shame that the feud has sucked as this could off been an amazing feud. Shame on whoever made this so shitty. At least they haven't carried on the spear crap. I'm not too sure whether it will be better than the Wresltemania match but these guys have the skills to beat it.

I think Edge will win this match which could possibly set up a rubber match at the next pay per view or to give one of the competitors the chance to leave for Raw. Jericho could possibly win but either I'm not bothered. This will be a good match which could possibly be the match of the night.
