WWE drew no attention towards it but

Mr. Artistic guy

Better Off This Way
The Shield lost on Monday in the most anticlimactic fashion ever. Was it a booking oversight or is it not supposed to count because it was an elimination match?

The best way to have ended that match was to have Ryback come out whilst Ambrose and Cena are both down towards the end, and have him shellshock Ambrose. Just as striking a message to give Cena, keeps The Shield's unbeaten record intact so it can actually be used productively, makes Ryback look smart and he can still chairshot his foot after the match is finished. I think we're now supposed to forget the match ever happened.

The SHIELD has now become Andre, non pinfall or submission losses will be ignored because that's not really losing. Vince has fallen back on this old standby loads of times over the years.

What's the point of reveling in being undefeated in 6-man tag matches?

Only Teddy Long would celebrate such an accomplishment. The Sheild is about justice and getting some screen time until they go in to their post-initial push decline (see Cesaro, Antonio).

I think Cena is losing at Extreme Rules, so, that win was a moral victory for the CeNation.

This is the same company who announced that Umaga was making his PPV debut when in fact he had been on 2 or 3 PPVs before that earlier in the year.

They make stuff up as they go along. I wouldnt be surprised if they still claim the Shield are undefeated!

Frankly, if they want to use the loss, it's a good way to get themselves out of the corner they painted themselves into by not having them lose yet anyways.

A totally bumbled and botched oppurtunity and build, in true WWE fashion. hey love this shit. Remember, Ryback's undefeated streak ended with a ballshot, to a guy in a year long title reign, and did not produce anything productive for Brad Maddox. They also still went the predictable route of having Punk drop the belt to Rock. So there was zero reason to not give Ryback the win, and have him lose it at TLC in some multi-man crazy finish in a TLC match. NO reason.

Definitely a wasted opportunity, but I agree with GSB and Fire Marshall Bill. It really doesn't amount to a whole lot. There's a lot of ways WWE can go with it, not the least of which is having The Shield collect some gold this Sunday. If they walk out with the tag and US titles then their record will be irrelevant. Then they move on to the business of defending their belts.

I'd rather they stay interesting, unique, and entertaining than hold something as pointless and poisonness as the US Title. Tag titles are fine though. Holding titles seems like the first step towards being generic. The US Title hasn't been interesting in it's WWE existence.

Fair point, but they can remain interesting while holding the tag titles along with the US title. I think that the visual of them walking out each with a belt would really drive home their dominant status moving forward. Of course how they're booked would make all the difference, so it's not like I've got the highest of hopes either way. WWE already kinda blew the undefeated streak thing, no telling how else they'll fuck up this group.

I guess I'm incredibly pessimistic while you'll just take what you can get.

Vince would be so pleased.
