Backstory:
After a magnificent Night of Champions 2012, the Board of Directors had a meeting in the WWE headoffice. Sources reveal that the Board questioned Vincent Kennedy McMahon, Cheif Executive Officer of the WWE, about his future plans regarding himself and the McMahon family. Also put forth were the questions about his ability to think and uphold those thoughts. After a long discussion, it was finally decided by McMahon himself that he would be stepping down from the position of CEO and creative head, giving his powers to his son-in-law, Paul Levesque, ring name Hunter Hearst Helmsley (Triple H). From now on, the on-screen matters and behind-the-scenes talent discovery and interests will be handled by Levesque althought McMahon is still in control of the business relations. In simple words, Levesque is "for the people" and McMahon is "for the entreprenuers".
Triple H as boss so far:
Levesque has made some important decisions after Night of Champions regarding the stories progressing in the company and has disowned some of McMahons ideas. As some may know, Levesque is against bringing back old talent to fill up the void of an extra hour of WWE programming and hence, the first major decision has been the reduction of RAW back to two hours. Levesque has also demoted the NXT talent to FCW bringing an end to the hour-long show. Putting an end to the brand extension, Levesque has granted free permission for any superstar to challenge for any title of course keeping in mind their capabilities. To honor those capabilities, Levesque has hired two new co-General Managers, his wife Stephanie McMahon and hardcore legend Mick Foley which means former RAW general manager AJ Lee and SmackDown! manager Booker T have been relieved of their duties. AJ Lee goes back to being a diva in the ring and Booker T is now back to the commentary table on SmackDown!. And in one of his biggest and most important decisions so far, Levesque has terminated Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's WWE championship match contract for the Royal Rumble thus bringing back his legends contract. Levesque has also fired Brock Lesnar from his job and these two decisions have caused quite a stir backstage as this would mean some of the younger stars stepping up to the main-event scene and some authorities are questioning their inexperience at the top. Respecting their concerns, Levesque has seperated teams like Hell No, Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara and The Rhodes Scholars thus bringing all six of them back to singles competition. However, he has re-signed teams of Joey Mercury, Johnny Nitro and Melina together known as MNM and has also rehired Harry Smith and Tyler Reks putting them back with Tyson Kidd and Curt Hawkins respectively to enhance the division.
