I didn't notice this until I saw a comment on another forum but it is true. For about the past week, I've noticed that Michael Cole has referred to Gail Kim as a 2x women's champion. I thought it was some type of error at first because Kim is only usually referred to as a former women's champ but this is not a mistake. Last week on the WWE Superstars show, I first heard Cole make mention of Kim being a former 2x women's champion and I rewinded it to make sure I heard it right. I shrugged it off as an error. And then last night on RAW in Gail Kim's match against Maryse, he referred to Gail Kim as a former 2x women's champ again.:wtf: You can go back and find those videos yourself or rewind your DVRs if you have one.

If not mistaken, Gail Kim has only won the WWE women's title only once.

The 2nd time Kim won a women's title was when she was the first ever KOs champion in TNA.

If Cole did say this, it was clearly a mistake on his part. And that isn't surprising since he and Lawler make mistakes on stats all the time. There is absolutely no way that WWE is going to acknowledge TNA at this point. As Hogan said, WWE's policy is not to acknowledge their competition and that has been the policy for decades. Only when WCW became big enough were they forced to acknowledge them.

But if that was stated, it was not in reference to her title run in TNA.

Im 100% sure that Cole did a mistake,Gail is only a one time womens champion.Gail kim actually won her only championship back in 2002 were she won a divas battle royal.

Also Like lord had said im damn sure that WWE will not acknowledge TNA as of right now,Specially now that Hogan and Eric are running the show.WWE will start acknowledgeing TNA once they think that TNA is a big compettions for them.

No way was this a mistake. Like I said in my first post, Cole said it on Thursday and he repeated it on Monday as well. He probably mentioned it Sunday as well. "Gail Kim, a former 2x women's champion." This can't be a mistake.

And to GenerationMe, Gail is a 1 time WWE women's champion but the KO belt is still a women's championship, so technically, she can still be referred to as a 2x women's champion. From now on, we should take note if she's referred to as a former 2x women's champ again.

Its probably a screw up. I've heard Cole reffer to Khali as a 2 time World Champion. God forbid. In WWE, title reigns are reffered specificly by name. Take John Morrison. He's billed as a former 4x WWE Tag Team Champion and a former (and final) World Tag Team Champion. He's also a former ECW Champion. WWE always specifies. TNA is more vague (Lashley billed as world champion). If Michael Cole says Gail Kim is a 2x Womens Champion then he reffers to Smackdowns title. He's mistaken. Reports of mistakes by him and Jerry have been a constant these past few weeks on Raw.

I made this thread 5 months ago and 5 months later, Michael Cole and all the WWE announcers have been referring to Gail Kim as a former 2x womens champions anytime Gail Kim is on screen. This is not a mistake.

Proof is right here. Look at this match from the past RAW. Just listen at 5:14. I'm telling you people. This is not any error!

...So?

So Michael Cole is acknowledging Gail Kim's KO title run. It's really not a big deal. It's a women's championship; no one gives a shit. No one except us smarks are going to remember that she only won it once, and Cole saying she's a "two-time" champion gives her some more legitimacy.

But really, who the fuck CARES? It's not like they're saying "Gail Kim went to another company and won some belts and now she's back". She just is referred to as a two-time women's champion. It's a way of acknowledging her accomplishments.

Not a big deal, so stop trying to pretend it is.

Whoa whoa whoa! No need to come in my thread and be such an asshole. I'm bringing this up because WWE never acknowledges another company's title reign that's why it's so significant. I never tried to make it a big deal. I just thought it was very unlike WWE to do such a thing. All I'm wondering is if this is the beginning of WWE starting to take TNA serious. So yeah, don't come here with any blind accusations and being a complete dick!

WWE has been taking TNA mildly seriously for a while now. Every time TNA thinks it has a chance, WWE decides to up the ante and put on a great show. The two-time women's champion thing is less of a recognition of TNA, more of a recognition of one of their female wrestlers' accomplishments. It's like if Kurt Angle jumped back to WWE and they started calling him an eight-time world champion.

It has nothing to do with TNA, more to do with the wrestlers themselves. It's not like they're out and saying Gail won the other championship in TNA.

I'm just saying that it's just a very weird thing for WWE to do because on the otherhand you have Christian and R-Truth who were both a 2x world champs in TNA yet they don't acknowledge that at all yet they do it for Gail Kim. Am I the only 1 who finds it strange and is wondering the real reason why they are acknowledging her 2 title reigns because they don't do it for anyone else?

I think that you're reading far too much into this. It's entirely possible that Michael Cole made a mistake, as he's often known to do. For example, I can't count the number of times I've heard Cole refer to Triple H as a 13 time WWE Champion even though Triple H has only won the WWE Championship 8 times. I've even heard Triple H himself say that he's a 13 time WWE Champion in promos.

It's possible that Cole accidentally called Gail Kim a two time women's champ when he meant to say one time. It's been WWE policy forever to not even acknowledge TNA Wrestling. If that directive had changed, it'd been leaked out all over the internet. Any change in WWE policy is typically a big deal and generates a lot of buzz on the net. If Vince McMahon honestly believed for a moment that Cole was acknowledging TNA Wrestling, he'd have been all over him like a cheap suit and it would be all over the net that Vince McMahon was chewing on Cole's ass for breakfast due to acknowledgement, even accidental acknowledgement, of competition.
