Wrestling is just really awful right now...

Yeah. Call the wahmbulance, give me cheese with my whine, and give me an order of french cries.

Raw on Monday was laborious. I remember episodes of Raw that I would want to watch over and over and over again. Not anymore. I CANNOT WAIT for 11:05 to roll around. That means I can get back on with other things that are less painful. I mean...it's horrendous. I would rather swim in a pile of steamy turds covered in cat vomit than watch Raw. That's how bad it sucks. Yes...that bad. I don't really know why, either. That is probably because it hasn't been good for so long, I just kind of expect the show to be rather horrible. But I would have to say blame goes to the writers...Orton, definitely Batista...well, and Vince.

Stephanie probably has a hand in it. But I guess you can't really blame Orton or Batista...they are only doing what they are told. So...definitely blame it on the writers, Steph, Vince...probably Triple H, WCW, ECW, AWA, the NWA, and Vince, Sr. They all share blame for how bad Raw is right now.

Not just Raw either...but wrestling in general. I mean...it's so bad that it makes watching old stuff less entertaining. That's a sign that you KNOW things are bad. I mean, I used to get a lot of enjoyment from watching just strictly old stuff. Then I got back into keeping current with things...and over time...the old stuff has lost its luster.

TNA...well, I don't really make too much of an effort to watch it...but it's gotta be better than Raw right now. I mean, Raw has SANTINA. SANTINA!!!! I guess TNA has The Beautiful People and whatnot. But the last time I watched Impact...it was more entertaining than Raw was last night.

Wrestling sucks right now, and I've been holding this in for quite some time, probably. Check that...it doesn't suck. It is without hope. It is so crappy that if Raw was wood, starving termites would not even eat it.

Comment on my rant. Have mercy.

Raw is very bad and has been since the draft, but it's not a sign of how things are in wrestling in general. SmackDown and ECW certainly make for much better weekly viewing for those interested. I can't be bothered with Impact though.

I think you're being rather unfair to Steph. She's recently called for pushing younglings and giving guys more input on the product in recent weeks. As a result, Jericho asked for and received his feud with Rey. Not to mention that new talent like Punk, JoMo, and Umaga are being billed decently on SD because of Steph's new initiative. Give the damn lady some respect. Oh, and she called for meatier stories last year. The result? Jericho-HBK. Yep.

But hey, fuck Steph. It's the easiest line to use in these situations.

That may be true about Steph. I really had no solid basis on that except hearsay and using Jim Cornette logic that she might not be the most qualified person to be in the position that she is.

I understand that they are trying to push young talent...but I'm not seeing it on Raw. I'm seeing the Santina/Randy Oran-Batista snoozefest with some Cena/Miz sprinkled in. There is one new talent there. One. Santina is new...but not a talent.

I completely blame the most recent rash of shitty episodes on Orton/Batista. But the dip that's been occurring January? That's all Triple H/Orton's fault. They are handed a storyline that spells nothing but "Oh wow, let's see what Orton does next."

But what did they do with it? Triple H/Vince and Shane routinely kicked Legacy's ass. Like, utterly beat their asses. It got to the point where it was "Alright, Orton punted ___. Oh well. It's not like he can actually beat anybody in the ring." There was a chance for Orton to save it with some decent mic work, but I'll be damned. Orton turned to what he knows best, taking 50 minutes to say "I...............................won. Respect........................me." It goes past heel mic work to just plain horrible mic work. You can't say "It's to rile us up and get us hating him for taking so long." It's just plain bad mic work. And the ring work Orton puts in? Regularly bad.

Dropkick, dropkick. Legacy run in. They scatter. Orton dropkicks, stomps a bit. Punch maybe. Slides away when Triple H sits up. RKO attempt. If he's going to win, he'll nail it. If he isn't going to win he'll miss and try to set up for the punt. He'll miss the punt, get nailed with a finisher, and lose.

It could be made up for with better angles surrounding the Main Event. Cena/Big Show? Ugh. I held the faith, but once Cena won their first ppv match it no longer had any hope of making sense. Cena/Miz? Probably could be good once Cena up to trounce the little bitch. Show all the Miz supporters what true mic skills are.

Santina? The Women's division? Maryse is the only reason I watch the women's segments anymore. No lie. Tag teams? Mid-card? Ok. Mid-card's doing pretty well.

I still enjoy Raw though. It's the sort of enjoyment you have to dig down deep for. It's probably because i realize once Orton backs away from the Main Event I can actually listen to half of the show again. Once you get over Raw, you can see ECW and Smackdown as what they are. They're still good shows. It just looks like they're bad because Raw's major storyline, their "Orton is a sadistic bastard." storyline has failed miserably. It's sad, really.

Raw is boring. Plain and simple. I'm a Cena fan, and I admit that sometimes he gets a little boring. Orton is boring, but he wasn't always:

He used to be a mega-douche, and I think that was more interesting than the Orton we get today. But I think that we're getting a wrestling boom very soon. Look at the similarities:

TNA's ratings are increasing and I think that in a year and a half or so, TNA will beat Smackdown. TNA resembles WCW in a way and will soon become actual competition to the WWE.

We have Ring Of Honor, which is more in-ring based action, and it has already gained a cult following. IIt also doesn't have the big pyro and all but it still is popular. Sounds familiar......
:robvandam:

And of course WWE. With ratings declining, and more options than ever to watch wrestling, the E will find a way to get back on top. They already have the talent (Jack Swagger, John Morrison, The Miz, and Mr. Kennedy if he can walk to the ring without breaking his leg.Among many others.). Plus there are many people who haven't debuted yet. And you never know who will become a star. Austin went to three promotions before he became big. And did "Mean Mark Calloway" look promising?

So yes, Raw does suck. It sucks major balls, no, it sucks monkey balls, no, better yet, it sucks laser-shooting, flaming, radioactive, toxic, bulletproof dinosaur balls. But it will get better. You just have to be patient.

The only show I really enjoy on a weekly basis is SD! I will sometimes enjoy ECW, but that is only sometimes. As for Raw, I can't really pin point what it was exactly but the show was just plain boring. There nothing that is really new except for a couple of things and those things aren't even enough to make me want to watch a full 2 hour episode of Raw. But other than those few things the show just felt dull and stale.

I don't know what the problem is, maybe it's Vince, maybe it's Steph, maybe it's the rest of the creative, I'm not really sure who to blame. Maybe they need to put someone fresh in the main-event, maybe they need to get a little bit more edgy but keep the show pg, I really don't know who is to blame or what they need to do but they need to fix whatever it is quick.

I am not going to boycott Raw and say that next time there is an episode of Raw as bad as this weeks I will stop watching the WWE or at least Raw. I will continue watching it because I will hope that it gets better and re-gains my interest.

.

Totally agree with you sir. Orton just fuckin puts me to sleep with his mic work.
Anyway, I think the downward trend does attribute to Orton and his lack of, well, everything. People wanted him to win the belt, he won, now look what we have. And I don't see much hope in the current crop of "younger guys" except like, Ted Dibiase if he drops the twink look. Morrison has to drop his Jim Morrison thing for me to even consider him to be serious. Yes, he can move in the ring, but the Sexy Shaman thing is beat.
