I don't know waht form this match will take with Rey injured. He'll probably just be a cornerman. I expect them to replace Rey with Punk. Rey & Punk have teamed together recently, so you'd imagine they would have formed a ''friendship''. It would make sense.

I really can't see why Shane McMahon should be involved though. Even so while this isn't a match I'm really intrested in, it has a WrestleMania feel to it. Which is something the rest of the carc is lacking.

If it ends up being Punk vs. Bigshow at Wrestlemania I am all for it. It would be a nice feud Punk vs Big Show for the ECW Championship. However Mayweather vs Big Show, I don't know... Something about it just didn't catch me, and I found myself bored watching the two of them at No Way Out and on RAW.

I think that the WWE went too far this time. I know they are trying to work off of the great showing that the Trump/McMahon storyline had last year, but that involved Lashley and Umaga wrestling, not McMahon and Trump, and also had Austin as a special referee. I am guessing it will be a one on one match with some stipulation, unless they decide to throw Batista in Rey's place. Although it wont be horrible, it wont be worth the 20 million that WWE is paying Pretty Boy Floyd according to the associated press. The angle had a great buildup after No Way Out, them were some serious shots, that generated some good heat. It will be interesting to see were they go from here, but its definately not worth 20 million.

It's certainly interesting to see that WWE is willing to bring in someone outside of the buisness like Mayweather to do a match. 20 million dollars is just a lil pricey to me, but I suppose to Vince it's nothing. The match itself shouldnt be too too bad. I don't think it'll be the best match on the card, but it will probabl be better then 1/2 of the other matches. I'm looking to see someone get involved on both guys parts. I just don't see this remaining one on one. Even if that means random people running in during the match.

Well what's even more frustrating in a sense is how much of a waste its going to be in the long run. That 20 million dollars could've been spent towards a better creative team, better conditions for their wrestlers, better equipment, etc. Instead, they're wasting it on a match that isn't coming close to what they were probably expecting. Mayweather is coming off like a jackass, Big Show's return is ruined by watching him lose to someone 1/3 his size, and for what? Its not even the main event! We still have the Flair retirement angle, two championship matches, and a Money in the Bank that's slowly looking like it might steal the show. If they would've paid Mayweather 3 mil, I'd say it's understandable, but 20 is far too much for what type of a product they're going to get from him in return.

So, its still really been uncomfirmed if this match is going to be a normal wrestling match, or a boxing match.

I can't imagine how short this match will be if its slated to be strictly wrestling, especially since Mayweather is roughly no bigger than Rey Mysterio. And quite honestly, he'll spend the first 10 minutes running around, hitting and running, until Big Show catches him, and kills him.

If its a boxing match, it might at least be remotely "interesting." (By interesting, I mean boring and time consuming)

Either way, the only thing this match is doing, is making W.W.E. money through the television reviews they'll get off it. But for true wrestling fans who don't care one way or another about "celebs" in wrestling.. this is simply a waste of time, on the biggest Pay Per View W.W.E. has.

I'm not interested in this match at all. I really hope that they let Big Show bury Mayweather, but because of the money involved, we know that is about as likely to happen as it would be for The Godfather to come back at Mania and win the WWE title. Or better yet, one of the hos.

I'm really hoping that Mayweather just continuously gets booed at Wrestlemania. That'd show a clear sign, just like the fans have been doing with Khali and the "you can't wrestle" chants. Do it long enough and loud enough, and maybe someone falling asleep behind the curtains may wake up and smell the roses.

I am actaully truely excited for this match. I am really interested in how WWE will play this out. Obviously this won't be absolutely horrible as Floyd Mayweather is a boxer. I hope WWE lets Big Show go over, because it would piss me off to see him lose so short after his return. I can't imagine seeing Floyd pinning, or making Show submit, due to his size.

I think this is a good move by the WWE since alot of boxing/MMA fans will tune in to see this match. It makes more sense for a boxer to be at WrestleMania, than a billionaire. I still think that $20'000'000 is a tadd steep. I mean you have guys like HHH go out there and wrestle for 52 weeks a year and earn 1/40th of what Mayweather earns for one match. That is completely stupid.

Another thing that is scaring me is that Floyd wants to become WWE Champion. I don't know if I read this on WWE.com or Wrestlezone, but either way it's scary. Because knowing WWE they will actually put the belt on him, and that would kill the credibility of the belt. This guys ego is so huge, it's annoying. I hope the fans boo his ass at 'Mania.

Seriously, W.W.E. just ruined Wrestlemania for me. I don't care if this match is only gonna be 15 minutes worth of entrances, introductions and then 5 minutes worth of an actual squash, ending with Big Show likely getting screwed by an outside weapon of some sort.

50 cent doesn't need to be anywhere near Wrestlemania. I'm assuming he'll be singing Mayweather's entrance theme too.. and this just pisses me off further. I don't feel like knowing part of my $70.00 is going toward listening to this shit, in HD.

I was running down the matches for this year's Mania, explaining them to my friend, and I nearly forgot about this match taking place. Oh, why? Because I DON'T CARE.

The whole thing started off with a bang, and looked pretty intriguing. But that was about it. The fans wanna cheer Big Show, and couple that with Mayweather's lack of charisma and knowledge of promos....this angle now SUCKS.

I DON'T CARE how much money Mayweather makes, I DON'T CARE how he says he's gonna break Big Show's jaw, and I DON'T CARE that 50 Cent is gonna show his face at Mania. This whole charade is gonna be 20 minutes of SUCK.

Things like this make me think WWE is trying to alienate its fans, fans who have followed it for years, and is trying to bring in a new generation of fans altogether. With this sort of angle, and the relentless pushing of Cena (I know, whole other thread), it's hard not to argue. It just sickens me to think WWE assumes its fans are really that dumb to believe Mayweather earned $20 million for this bout, and that he could actually hurt the Big Show.

In essence, it is a smart move by WWE to do this angle, though, for the media attention. However, it could backfire on all parties involved if mishandled. I just wanna see Show destroy Mayweather, but that'll never happen. Ahhh, I can't wait for the chorus of boos as he actually gets in some "offense"...

Honestly I have about zero interest in this. there is absolutely no way they could do this in a realistic way, unless the big show smashes him in under ten minutes, depending on how long it takes him to catch mayweather. This is going to be terrible, utterly unrealistic, and will most probably get booed out of the building. Im all for Using floyd mayweather, but not against The Big Show, becuase like I said, there is just no way for this to be done well or right, at all. Waste of time. Utter waste of time.

Assuming they make it a boxing match...Honestly, could Mayweathers superior boxing skills get him to a win over a MUCH larger, yet novice opponet?? It may sound farfetched, but trust me, Mayweather is extremely fast, and probably the best defensive fighter of our time. I honestly dont think Shows fists would be fast enough to hit floyd. But at the same time, I dont think floyd could reach to hit show in the face. I think this would be wildly entertaining if it were a shoot fight. I dont think it will be for two reasons.

1. This is wrestlemania. Contests that occur at Wrestlemania tend to not be real. (Thats sarcastic metaphoric joke kids)

2. Mayweather camp WOULD NEVER EVER do it. If he were to LOOSE do you know how that would look on him as a boxing champion?
Now as to why I could see it happenning...Mayweather is absurdly cocky. I wouldnt put it past him to think he could knock big show out. And if he were to loose, his camp to spin it off as it was fake, becuase it was WWE, or spin it off as the guy was WAY out of floyds weight class. either/or. They could make this about 10000000000X better if it were for real.

First off I strongly dislike bringing in athletes dem other sports because it takes away from wrestling. I think this a waste of Shows return. I'd rather see him face Khali for all I care. I believe this will tarnish wrestlemania because it will be the only reason people buy it instead of the great wrestling matches

Let's just hope that the fans don't necessarily cheer for Big Show, don't necessarily boo Mayweather, but chant that they don't want the match. If they boo or cheer for anybody in particular, the WWE is going to be stupid enough to think that its because they're interested.

"Oh look, they're booing Mayweather. Man, he must've come off really well as a heel in those promos we did. Maybe we should bring him back..."

So let's hope they don't do that, as it seems like no intelligent people are interested in this match lol. Let's hope we get more chants along the lines of Khali's "you can't wrestle" or the classics of "same old shit" and "we want wrestling".

On top of that, the only way I'd like this match is if something happened that they weren't planning on. I'd love to see Mayweather get cocky, hit Big Show for real, and then Big Show just beat the living shit out of Floyd until he cried like a little girl. Or even better, I'd love to see Mayweather trip on the ramp and knock himself unconscious. That would be worth all the horrible promos we've had to sit through.

Mayweather is not getting the 20mil that is just a number they are throwing around to piss of the fans and build heat against him.. They started trying to make him look like a babyface but the crowd never got behind him. They say he is the greatest fighter of all time... Well I have never seen him enter the ring against ANYONE in the MMA world. I've seen his record.. Yes he is undefeated but more then a few are win by decitions and some of THOSE are split decition.
The WWE has tried the boxer VS wrestler a few times before. "Mr T vs Roddy Piper" "Gorilla Monsoon vs Ali" true they were not true matches and they were mostly works but still..
Do you really think that Mayweather will let the WWE make him look like a fool? He is a arrogant rich punk. Sure he can fight, but as the saying goes:

My money is on Big Show loosing it on the little punk and getting DQed. After all they started by trying to make him a bad guy n the first place by trashing Rey Mysterio.

I love how they turned the dynamic completely around.....Big Show came off PHENOMENAL. And Floyd didn't have to act anymore, his natural demeanor came out and the crowd bit.

I loved this segment. Face Big Show, Heel Mayweather. That's how I've always viewed it and Big Show getting his modicum of revenge was....

Okay, so after tonight on Raw two things are being reported by Wrestlezone's Main site.

1. Mayweather was legit. injured

AND

2. The brawl between Mayweather's posse/W.W.E. Superstars, was real.

So, this is my overall opinion on both.

Injury: If this is real, I think this could be the best possible thing thats happened to them. Its a sign, if nothing else. Mayweather and Big Show SHOULD NOT meet at Wrestlemania. I think all this is going to do, is cause Mayweather's agent to fire off at the W.W.E. and Mr. McMahon, demanding better protection, possibly even MORE money, and if possible, to make this entire storyline look even fake-r.. to completely protect Mayweather.

Real Fight: I think its a load of shit, just like some others I've spoke with. I think it was staged to be "real" because the storyline in general sucked and needed something to spice everything up. Mayweather was the "face" in this feud, and was being booed. Therefore, Big Show brought in the W.W.E. crew.. and bam, we have a boxing versus wrestling.

The only way I can see this being true, and it did turn real, is because I'm almost confident in knowing each one of Mayweather's "posse" likely has it in their head that they can take on the world, no matter how big, and win. And the website reported a W.W.E. Superstar said the posse got their asses handed to them, or something like that. Clearly, that would've been something Hardcore Holly would've said. I can see that much.

Overall: Like I said, this injury angle is the best thing that could've happened to them. Because now, it gives the open opportunity for Mayweather to "play hurt" and not compete. Thus, allowing him to "hand pick" a replacement to face the Big Show at Wrestlemania.

Then, (bare with me) we could bring in any number of Superstars that aren't currently on the card. OR.. we could bring in.. Hulk Hogan! Now I realize that Hogan doesn't exactly deserve to be on the Mania card, however, him versus the Big Show would still be an incredible draw.. just like Floyd "Money" Mayweather. The only upside, is I'd be willing to watch another Hogan match.. over the incredibly staged and easily predicted Mayweather crap.

I agree xDJx, this match will be one of two designated snack / beer reload matches. This angle has been disappointing after Floyd started talking on Raw. His timing is horribly off compared to when he's talking smack in order to promote one of his regular boxing matches. On Raw, he tends to repeat himself with no flow, or no intensity. Big Show is carrying the hype machine for this match and the most merciful thing that could happen at WM 24 is that Floyd gets smart and takes a dive.

I like the maywheather vs show angle. I think it's fun to watch this whole story play out. The fans erupted when the big show toss him out of the ring. I thought it was sweet. It reminded me of hogan vs rocky just for a split second and the power of wrestling that we all use to be able to feel back in wrestlings glory days. That's why I liked it, it kind of took me back some years.

I see a lot of people hatin on this match. Rightfully so. However, think about Big Show vs. Akebono a couple of years ago. (Boring!!)
Big Show vs. Mayweather will have a lot more hype (Mayweather's character/50 cent, etc.) I would rather see this than Show and Akebono which had no hype at all. Remember this is about entertainment at the Super Bowl of wrestling.
