wrestlemania= tournament?

should they ever do another wrestlemania tournament for one of the major titles like they did at WM 4 again? maybe cause some controversy, vacate the belts, and have opening round matches on raw or smackdown, then have either the finals and semis or just finals at mania?

i would like to see them do it again in the future, but atleast have 3 rounds at mania. i hate having only the semi's and finals on the card. problem being it's only a 3 hour show, mania IV was a four hour card

No, no one would buy into it, back in the 80s when that was done it was different and worked at the time, personally I've watched Mania 4 once, and that is all I couldn't get into the event.

A tournament would be cool if done right. For example on Smackdown the final four were Undertaker vs Big Show and Edge vs Cena. Have those matches the beginning of the show then the winner later on. Would be good drama if they did it right and it would give us more of "EXCUSE ME, EXCUSE ME," Vickie Guerrero, which for some sick reason I find hilarious and her getting knocked out last week was SWEET!

i think it could work if done right and with the right people the wrestlers you could put in thair could be feuding with each other for 2 or 3 months before and instead of having 3 hour show bump it up to 4 hours so each wrestler can have 15 min matches with each other and you can have other big matches on the ppv so all the focus is'nt on the tournament this who i would have in the tournament and who i would have win

im not a big john cena fan but you have to go with the man who makes the most money for wwe because realisticly vince would make john cena the winne cause cena is the new hogan and austin of this era

In 2009, the audience doesnt have that kind of attention span.

Plus if it were to be a wrestlemania, it would have to be all the top guys.
If you put the top 8 guys in a tournament, that means 7 of them have to lose.
Thats never good.

Wrestlemania is supposed to be the payoff on all the current storylines.
All a tournament does is build to new ones.


In my opinion it wouldnt work.
And by the way, Wrestlemania is 4 hours this year, as it has been for the last couple years.

I've been wanting another Wrestlemania tourney for a long time. I personally loved 4 and one of my favorite PPV's is Survivor Series 98, also featuring a tournament. I've dreamed of Vince on his death bed around Wrestlemania 30 and for one last show everyone who he loved having at Wrestlemania would come out for a 1 day, 32 men, 8 hour tournament at Wrestlemania. It would be so great. For your reading pleasure, I have compiled a list of names for this great tourney. Only guy I left out was Bret because, unlike Hogan who can try to wrestle and look "eh", Bret can hardly get into a ring.

WM IV is one of my favourite PPVs ever, I still have the tape I recoreded it on, and have watched it countless times; I loved it. However, I think that most of the above posters are correct, it would not be popular. Not to say it won't work, but I doubt it would get buys, as much as I would love it. It wouldn't be a smart move for the WWF, oops, WWE
