I got the feeling they'd do this this year when I saw two specific names on each side of the brackets.
For those who dont know what the hell March Mania is, let me explain briefly.
If you have WWE 24/7 OnDemand aka WWE Classics OnDemand then you are able to watch the March Mania Tournament all throughout late March under the section titled: March Mania.
Basically it's a tournament featuring 16 stars in a bracket formation just like The King of The Ring Tournament. WWE puts together some random big names and then plays back old matches between four pairs on each side of the bracket template, then two pairs on each side in the 2nd round bouts and then from there they show matches for the Semi-Finals (one match on each side of the chart) then they have the March Mania Finals.
Now usually it comes down to two stars who've faced before and they play a final match from the past (and it's fun to watch the old matches over again even if this tournament isnt a live one or anything) but this year I had the feeling they'd do something different and have it come down to Rock and Cena and they did.
So now not only will they compete at WrestleMania in a 7 Years in the Making Match, Made a Year in Advance, and a Generation vs Generation Clash that is Once in a Lifetime, and The Most Social Media Feuled Feud of all Time, but the winner of the main event of WrestleMania will be the March Mania Champion!
The Rock was March Mania Champion two years ago, just to throw that out there.
And for the record I realize some people may not even care about this little fun flashback tournament on WWE Classic OnDemand. I just wanted to throw it out there since it is a small little side thing WWE does as a WrestleMania prelude tradition. I figured make a thread on it, though I was gonna do this when it started. I did it anyhow.
You all can discuss The March Mania Tournament and take a look back at the matches.
I just wonder whether or not WWE will ever do this again (likely not) and whether or not they'll announce this, make it known, to the fans that night
