Wrestlemania Pre-Show

Getting Noticed By Management
So today the WWE have announced that this years Wrestlemania Pre-Show will be TWO HOURS LONG! This makes 6 hours of Wrestling in one day {2 hours of pre-Show & 4 hours of the PPV itself} and then you have the Post-Show afterwards!

My questions to you all are:
1.What match will they put in there? Will they make it a solid 20 minute match?
2.Why they have made it longer? And is it too much long?
3.Will you watch the entire pre-show?
4.Will the Battle royal be in the pre-show?

It's worth noting that the second hour of the pre-show is exclusive to the WWE Network, while the first hour is available on all of the usual means. I would guess that the first hour of the pre-show will be fairly uneventful - just general hype, Axxess video packages, stuff like that to remind people that it's the biggest pay-per-view of the year and something to be excited about - all the while reminding people that they need to sign up to the WWE Network in order to watch the second hour which will include a match or two, not to mention the pay-per-view itself.

It's difficult to say where the Battle Royal will appear until the entire card is finalised; at the moment there's no reason why it wouldn't be on the main card but in the next week we might see another two or three matches booked which mean it is bumped to the pre-show. The thinking might well be that adding Andre's name to the Battle Royal might lend it a bit of prestige, and putting it on the pre-show might just get a few more Network subscriptions.

Personally, if they're going to go an extra hour I'd rather see the first hour contain all of the hype and the second hour contain maybe a second match, and be more dedicated to wrestling (as opposed to a match being squeezed in within the last fifteen minutes). On a night when the four main events are going to occupy the bulk of the show, adding another unofficial hour of matches before the show might give guys extra time to work that they wouldn't otherwise recieve. Is five hours of wrestling overkill? Maybe, but if you feel that way nobody is forcing you to tune into the pre-show.

Considering the Battle Royal is consistently being mentioned on every show, with new participants announcing their intention to be part of it as well, putting it on a WWE Network exclusive pre-show would be a real middle finger to us non-Americans. Especially as my friend and I intend to purchase the PPV and stay up through the night to watch it. I think it'll be on the main card, or if it isn't, at least that part of the pre-show won't be limited to Network subscribers only.

I don’t really care about which match they put on the pre-show, but I hope it’s not a Championship Title match. Then again, it could easily be the Championship Title Unification match between the Intercontinental Champion, Big E. Langston vs. the United States Champion, Dean Ambrose. I would like to think they would give the pre-show match at least 20 minutes, considering it’s a 2 hour pre-show.

They probably made it longer because it’s the only way to go at this point. I think next year, WrestleMania will be 12 hours long, with the first 9 hours being a WWE Network pre-show. I don’t think a 2 hour pre-show plus a 4 hour show is too long. If there wasn’t a pre-show, I’d still have the WWE Network up and running all day anyway, watching classics. I might even create my own pre-show.

I can’t say that I will watch the entire pre-show, but it will be on all day anyway. I’ll probably turn the Network on around noon that day and just have it on till midnight.

The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal better not be on the pre-show. If anything, I’d rather see all 3 NXT Championship defended on the pre-show. That will get the crowd warmed up for the Grandest Stage of them All.

I think this is really the way to think about it; it's like the buildup to any major one-off sporting event really. They aren't necessarily expecting to command your attention for six running hours, it's more something to get you in the mood for a big spectacle in the same that that they might do for something like the Superbowl. Again, if it's 'too long' then nobody's being forced to participate.

Hi all, I'm new to this forum, but certainly not new to wrestling, time to dive in on this topic:
1.What match will they put in there? Will they make it a solid 20 minute match?
I actually started at question four and worked my way up -- this is answered in question 2.

2.Why they have made it longer? And is it too much long?
They bill Wrestlemania as an equivalent to the NFL's Super Bowl, so why not have a longer pre-show? Hopefully they're making it longer to get a few more people involved and let us see some people we don't normally get to see - or perhaps showcase some of the individual talents that are in the Battle Royal in singles or tag matches and have them perform double-duty. It would be awesome if we got maybe three really solid matches to go with the rest of the filler and hype. Honestly, I wouldn't even be opposed to seeing a tag match like Los Matadores vs Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd. That could be entertaining and we don't see those four a lot. It would be a really good way to start the show and get the blood flowing (in us, not on camera), lots of high flying, lots of good potential, although I'm not sure which team could be the heel team. I'd like to see them pull some guys from the Battle Royal and have them do double-duty. Have Ziggler and Big E team up against somebody (perhaps Alberto Del Rio and a partner to be named, maybe Damien Sandow), maybe have Mark Henry and Big Show against somebody (unfortunately, I can't think of anyone off the top of my head). The "main event" of the pre-show could even be the culmination of this big feud between Sheamus and Christian, some sort of stipulation match would be cool. This is Wrestlemania - it would be great to see a lot of these guys showcase their talents, I'm not sure how much of that will happen in the 30-man Battle Royal. These guys work hard all year long, reward them with an opportunity to show us what they have!

3.Will you watch the entire pre-show?
I typically work on Sundays, but if my schedule allows me to I will likely check it out. If the above scenario plays out where they have a few cool matches that would make me even more likely to check it out.

4.Will the Battle royal be in the pre-show?
I don't believe the BR will be on the pre-show. I also don't think it should kick off the main show for Wrestlemania either. I'd say have one or two matches, then the BR... allowing some participants to possibly have a match during the pre-show.

The pre-show is wasted on us like-minded geeks. We're going to watch anyway. WWE already have us in the palm of their hands.

The battle royal will take away most of the talent that could have a match on the pre-show. I guess you could have Justin Gabriel & Tyson Kidd in a match, but who cares. What you do instead is have an NXT match with the winner getting a spot in the Battle Royal. That'd be the perfect way to get Rusev on the card and on a roll by having him win two matches (though largely insignificant ones) in the same night.
