Last years Mania main event plans changed after a poor reaction to the Rumble. Could the same happen this year? I doubt it. But I have a scenario that I wouldn't mind seeing...
Elimination Chamber: WWE Championship
Brock vs Roman vs Bryan vs Orton vs Seth vs ???
We start with a Brock/Roman face to face in ring confrontation on RAW.
Bryan's music hits, Bryan enters.
Bryan quotes Ric Flair, "to be the man you have to beat the man, and no one ever beat me for the WWE championship. In fact Brock, the man you beat for that title never even beat me for that title. It was taken from me due to injury. I'm enacting my rematch clause and I'm going to win back MY WWE championship at Wrestlemania!"
Crowd chants yes. Brock laughs off Bryan's challenge. Heyman smirks.
Orton's music hits. Orton enters, this marks his TV return...
Orton points out that by Bryan's logic, he is even more deserving of a title match because Bryan never beat him for the title either. "It was Batista that tapped to the yes lock last year, not me. And I never received my rematch either."
Seth Rollins music hits. Seth enters...
Seth points out that "it doesn't matter if its Brock vs Roman or all 4 of you, when the night is over I am cashing in my MITB on whoever is the bloody, battered, beaten man left in that ring. I will have my wrestlemania moment. I proved at the Rumble that I am the real star of this company."
At this point it's shaping up to be a fatal four way with Rollins waiting in the wings. As the weeks go by Orton and Bryan are added to the match, while Rollins continues to guarantee it will be he who walks out as Champion. Which leads Orton and the others in the match to start baiting, almost daring Rollins into joining the match...
Orton: "If youre so sure of yourself why don't you hand that briefcase over now and join us at Wrestlemania. Earn the title rather than steal it."
Over the next few RAW's, Roman calls Seth a bitch, Brock says Seth's chickenshit. Eventually, much to the dismay of the authority, Rollins gives in to the lack of respect he's receiving and hands over his briefcase thus turning the Fatal Four Way into a 5 man title match at Mania.
Finally, The Raw after Fast Lane, the match is signed and it's announced that it will be held inside The Elimination Chamber. Only one problem, we need a 6th man. That's where the Andre Memorial Battle Royal comes in. This year, the winner of that battle royal will earn a spot in the chamber as the 6th man in the title match.
This way we get so many matches both WWE and fans have been clamoring for. Bryan vs Brock. Orton vs Brock. Roman vs Brock. And if Ambrose won the battle royal, you have all 3 shield guys against one another. Or Ziggler could win, making him this years Bryan wherein he joins the main event by winning a match earlier in the night. Heck, it could even be Cena. Cena could eliminate Rusev to win the battle royal and join the title match where he would be eliminated by Roman which would hopefully win Roman SOME love from the crowd who might at least be happy to see Cena eliminated.
Now, is ANY of this going to realistically happen? No. But if fans continue to crap all over Roman/Brock as they are now, WWE might not have a choice but to alter their plans just as they had to last year.
I'm not even suggesting Bryan win the title. Roman still wins. It still comes down to Roman vs Brock. WWE still gets what they want, but at least this way the fans get a MUCH better match and MUCH more intriguing road to Wrestlemania filled with some swerves, surprises and suspense.
And seeing as how WWE isn't planning on using the chamber in February, why not use it at Wrestlemania?
