Wrestlemania 30...

WM30 is coming up in a few years, and you would expect it to be one of the biggest PPVs of the decade, considering that it is the 30th anniversary of pro-wrestlings biggest event. The only thing we could assume is that it would be returning the MSG, as it is almost impossible to know who would be still around to main event/participate at the time, but if you had to make a dream card for one of the most anticipated events ever from the current up-and-coming stars/legends/WWE roster for this event, who would you pick? I.e; who do you think will be big in 3 years time to headline?

You never know who could be main eventing a WM, considering this time last year no body would of picked The Miz to go in as the champ.

I think that Orton, Miz and Cena will still be going strong, considering their current positions in WWE, and as long as Punk keeps up the good work, we can probably expect to see him coming along for the ride.

I think that identifying the mid-card would be the hardest challenge, seeing as the mid-card roster is usually replaced these days every 2-3 years with fresh talent.

Your thoughts?

I could definitely see Cody Rhodes defending a world title as a heel, and i can also see him challenging as a face. Although he'll have to work very hard on his mic skills to get pushed as a face.

Well first, Wrestlemania 30 would be the 29th anniversary. Second, I really hope they have some newer guys in the main event scene by then. I can see, barring injury, Orton, Cena, Miz, and Punk being there still. The mid-card could be pretty interesting. I'm really hoping that some of those guys are main event caliber by then though!

hopefully when mania 30 rolls around cody rhodes, john morrison, daniel bryan and maybe even ted dibiase and alex reily in the main event, cena prolly in the wwe title match,orton....eh something tells me this guy is gonna either be in a mid card match at the ppv or he will be gone...to me it doesnt seem like hes got as much passion for the business as john cena  but mania 30 is a long way away so we will all have to wait and see whats gonna happen

Even though it seems so close, I think the main event picture can be COMPLETELY different by then. Let's go to August 2001 (the same time between now and WM30 as then and WM20). This was the peak of the Invasion angle and who would have seriously guessed the stars of Wrestlemania 20 would be Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero? Just saying...

^^^ Yeah that's true. If we are also too look at WMX the time it would be now is 1991 headliners were still Hogan, Savage, and Warrior. By WMX only one of them was in the roster and he was mostly a part time guy.

The WM's divisible by 10's tend to be the beginning of the transitional period of the company (as was WMIX and WMXIX) if we are going with this trajectory we would assume that the focal point of WM30 is currently a midcard guy but gaining popularity. So who fits that bill?

John Morrison - but he could be World Champion before WM30
Daniel Bryan - but he could win the title also with his MITB briefcase
Kofi Kingston - he doesn't seem to be Championship Material yet but 3 years is enough time for build him up
Alex Riley - he needs to make a impact asap
Justin Gabriel or Wade Barrett - (?)

Of course another consideration is that WM30 is headlined by a Canadian. Now there aren't any high profile mid card Canadians right now. The only hope for that is DH Smith but even I don't think he has what it takes. So is it possible we could see a Canadian outside the WWE right now headline WM?

So could we see Eric Young or Teddy Hart be WWE Superstars and Mainevent WM30?

I think it's very obvious what the main event will be. I really dont think anyone here has to second guess that for one minute if you think logically. The WWE is highly avoiding the match they want to headline WrestleMania 30 and it's undoubtedly going to be:

John Cena vs Randy Orton

I dont care who you'd prefer, your favorite up and comer

If you think logically you know Cena will be in the WWE title bout at this event, Miz vs Punk could be the World title match and there's nothing wrong with that, but THE main title match will be between the WWE's two biggest faces right now. There's history there from 2007 and such, there's WWE splitting them on different shows to really avoid any current action between the two other than them having tagged together against Nexus etc

And there has been countless times WWE has teased this match, I'm just good at foreshadowing, I saw it in Cena/Rock when ppl thought that Rock would never come back and some still think Rock left WWE and walked out on them abandoning us.

This shit is planned this way and it's smart, sure you had the Triple Threat with HHH, but not Cena and Orton 1 on 1 and that is your match and has been for the past few years, they havent done that match on any of the big four at all I believe and even still it will happen at WrestleMania 30

Cena Edge was another match they were saving but that cant happen now

just like Orton they had Edge face Cena early on to get history behind a match later at WM29 or WM31 but Orton and Cena is a definate

Miz and Punk is likely another reasonable option

but no one's gonna boost that big over meaning more than a Orton Cena match at Mania 30 and it makes so much sense

between Batista, Cena, HHH and Orton we've seen countless matches at Mania in various variations, but not THIS ONE and it will be the biggest of those guys' matches, trust it

I'm calling it flat out and I'd bank on it!

John Cena vs Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 30 because no other match could be bigger amongst active stars, (again not just cause you like this or that guy and want them to be in instead of this match, but looking at the bigger picture of things, this is the most logical choice)

Ok lets compare Wrestlemania 17 to Wrestlemania 20 as this is the same timing between Wrestlemania 27 and Wrestlemania 30.

Wrestlemania was based around established stars such as Rock, Austin, Triple H and Taker. 3 years later we saw a returning HBK, Benoit, Angle and Eddie in the Title picture.

The difference is, Benoit and Eddie were established stars, already made their name in WCW. Hbk was another and Kurt Angle was one of a kind, he arrived with a Wrestling pedigree.

For people to suggest Morrison, Kingston and Riley now really paints a bleak picture for Wrestlemania 30. I just cannot get excited. The talent at the moment is very thin on the ground and I dont see any of these reaching the levels of Benoit, Eddie etc.

At this moment in time, I still see Cena, Orton running the show. Kane, Rey, Big Show will probably have departed. Rock is a huge possiblity though if still on good terms with WWE. Who knows what the future holds for Punk.

They've faced off at Summerslam and at Wrestlemania. Call their Mania' match a triple threat if you want, but Orton ended up pinning Cena to retain.

If we saw a Cena Vs. Orton match one last time, I don't think it should involve a world title. Wouldn't need it.

Punk Vs. Cena is already shaping up to be far more interesting in terms of storytelling. It's several years from now, that's why I assumed we'd see some new guys come in for it.

As pointed out though, it's 3 years away. Let's put this into perspective...

John Cena debuted in 2002. By 2005, he had main-evented Wrestlemania. That goes to show that ALOT can change in 3 years.

If I had to pick any of the 'young talent' now, I'd probably go with Cody Rhodes, ADR, Sheamus or Riley (Riley not as much as the others, but I can see him becoming a big star in the mid-card)

I don't think riley will be much more than a transitional champ, wont see him headlining Wresltemania, (that's jsut my opinion I could be proven wrong).

I'm going to add to the dudes coming up and say Dolph Ziggler, the dude is so talented and has so much damn charisma. If he worked a match with a Punk or an Orton it would be phenomenal.

unfortuanetly i think alberto del rio will be main eventing (i dont think he is any good)

JOHN MORRISON:i hope he will be in the wwe title picture should have one by then IMO

KOFI KINGSTON:i like him but i think he will be 50/50 he can main event his feud with orton was good but after his 200 matches with dolph ziggler i got bored of him because i feel he was slow and had no energy left

DOLPH ZIGGLER:he is one of the best heels in the wwe yet is in mid card kinda like william regal had tons of talent but never won a world title dolph is young and has plenty of time whilst william i feel is not being used and can see him leaving retiring soon in 3 years dolph WILL be main eventing

WADE BARETT:i wouldnt mind seing wade vs john morrison for the wwe title

finally can they please bring it back to england because thenit will be special because A.it is wrestlemania 30 and B. it will be in england and wembly stadium will be sold out in around 10-20 minutes

29 years since the first one yes but the 30th show. which is what OP meant i'd assume, i dunno about MSG it's not that big but since the 10tha nd 20th were there it's pretty much a shoe in.

Personally i'd see Cody Rhodes being at the top of his game and Dibiase would have finally come out of his shell so both of them in some sort of title match, not necessarily world title.

Daniel Bryan would be world champ on Smackdown taking on someone else who joins between now and then, hopefully a good technical wrestler or Kurt Angle returns for one last match lol that would be epic. Possibly be battling CM Punk too since they are both indy born and bred.

Cena would be on his last legs if not already on hiatus. be he will be there iin some form.

CM Punk as champ or going for another title shot on RAW or as said possibly facing Daniel Bryan.

Ziggler should also be in the world title picture.

can't see much beyond that since as said the current roster is pretty woefull in entertainment value, maybe they can turn around the damage that has been done to the rosters star power.

now for the rediculous, almost Zero chance of happening.....

Legends return to celebrate 30yrs of mania
Hulk Hogan poses, Rowdy Roddy Piper talks the talk, Ace Cowboy Bob Orton, Paul Orndorf just show up, Stone Cold does a beer salute, the Rock gives his finally the Legends have come back to Wrestle.Mania, Triple H/HBK gives a 2 words for ya/crotch chop bit, Cena does the salute then, Vince comes down to yell at everyone that he created Mania and he should still be running WWE they all do finishers on him, then turn on each other and a legends battle royal is set :)

to celebrate 30yrs of Mania

and Taker returns for 21-0 facing off against Kevin Nash/Diesel or Hulk Hogan in a "loser can't use a wheelchair anymore match" or a "Loser must turn off there life support match"

Undertaker 22-0.

Just kidding.

Although, as much as people make fun of it, yes he is in bad shape and he knows it, and he knows when to quit, so stop comparing him to Hogan/ Nash/ Flair. Taker still gave great matches last year with HBK, Mysterio, Elimination Chamber, Kane (no holds barred), Swagger (Raw).... this is the only year when he was completely beaten up for the whole year and gave only 1 match.... he will retire next year, we just need to see whether its just a Mania match or whether a story that extends till Survivor series (since that is where he debuted). Taker deserves a good retirement storyline.

I think Cena and Orton are still young enough to be main eventing WM30. JoMo, Miz, CM Punk and Alberto should still be near the top of the card too. Wade Barrett and Sheamus should be somewhere near the title then.

I'd like to see Seth Rollins, Mason Ryan, Justin Gabriel and Brodus Clay somewhere on the card.

Anything with Kurt Angle would be awesome. I'd like to see him go against Swagger.

My dream match though? Daniel Bryan V Christopher Daniels V Colt Cabana triple threat match for the Intercontinental Title. I can dream can't I?

Great topic that really got the Master MIND thinking......

Obviously John Cena will still be a major player but will be still be the same "Super Cena" character? A large percentage of his current fan base is around what 9-15 years old maybe. So in 3 years many of those fans will either think Cena is a pussy and start hating him like the majority of older fans do now or they will still be supporting him which opens the door for a Hogan/nWo style spit in the fans face heel turn. Both scenarios could lead to a new Cena character. All the major stars have re-invented themselves at some point, or numerous times, in their careers. Cena re-inveted himself with the rapper gimmick first which put him on the map, then he moved into the current character he has had for how many years now. If Cena is still going to be relevant in 3 years he is going to have to change in some way.

I really hope that some new force will emerge in the coming years. It really has to happen. Will it be someone currently working for another wrestling promotion, could it be a MMA star turned WWE star, or could it be a complete newcomer that takes the WWE by storm like Brock Lesnar did? I don't know but I think we will see someone new that captures the interest of fans. WM30 would be the perfect stage for Cena vs "Mr.X" to have that "first match" main event.

The key to this idea is a "first match" main event at WM. Sure, Cena vs Orton makes sense but it's been done to death already. Someone new and exciting who is challenging either a heel Cena or a similar to now face Cena who will undoubtably be booed in MSG would be the best for the PPV and the business. WWE needs a new monster star and since we don't see any at the moment WM30 gives almost 3 years for that guy to be found, groomed, and positioned properly for it to be possible. Is it a long shot? Maybe, but who the hell knew who Brock Lesnar was in 2000?

There are a few other names that could be on the card and in the WWE by 2014. It isn't outside the realm of possibility that TNA goes bust by then, or be so shitty many guys (or the few WWE may want) jump ship. ROH with its new TV deal could really develop some new stars WWE may be interested in. With the recent pushes of CM Punk and Daniel Bryan it seems as though WWE may realize there is money and value in pushing guys with histories in the other promotions. These types of guys have "cult followings" and it makes sense for WWE to capitalize on that. It's not as if they are churning out ready made stars from their own developmental system in recent years are they? Cena got himself over with his raps....don't think Vince would be approving those promos for a rookie these days, do you? Hopefully HHH really will fix developmental.

So who else could be on the card by then who isn't on the current roster?

Davey Richards - seems like a really good chance of that. Richards v Punk?

AJ Styles - the guy deserves a shot at the bigs doesn't he?

Samoa Joe - Steve Austin seems to think the guy should go to WWE and be pushed hard. Joe v Austin? Highly doubt that, but Joe versus someone at WM30 could happen

MVP - back from Japan with a tweaked character and move set. Everyone knows the guy had potential when he was there. A couple years away could see him back with a major push.

Kurt Angle - I would love to see him back for one more WM match atleast. Could he still go in 3 years though? Any combination of Punk, Richards and Angle would be great.

RVD - he has history in WWE, could see them bring him back.

From the guys on the roster now Orton and Punk will likely figure in prominently on the card. Undertaker could possibly still have a match. I doubt it, but if he works WM28 then maybe takes 2 years off he could theoretically still wrestle. Fuck, if Flair can still wrestle at 108 or however old he is I think Taker could pull one out. Who knows maybe he comes back and lets a new guy break the streak....long shot but anything can happen.

You got to think guys like Morrison and Cody Rhodes will be somewhat elevated by then. I don't see major main event stars in either of them but I know many people on here do. So either of them could have a major spot on the card.

Either way the show will go...whether it's good or not.

Cena and Orton will be in the main event no doubt about that.
Others who most likely be in but I'm not a 100% on is the Miz, CM Punk and please God JOHN MORRISON :) I would love to see him competing for the WWE/ WHC Championship. Honorable mentions would be Christian, Sheamus, Cody Rhodes (if he keeps improving and stepping up), maybe Alberto? Those are the only names that come to mind when I think WM30 AND Main Event.

WM 30 is almost impossible to predict. If you tried predicting WM27 right after WM26, you would have failed miserably. For one, the challenger for the World Heavyweight Title was Alberto Del Rio, somebody who had not even debuted in WWE yet.

Injuries happen. If Edge had been forced to retire a month earlier, who knows what the main event for Smackdown would have been.

Is the Tag Team division gonna be revised? Or scraped completely?

With ROH going on TV, and WWE already stripping their roster, who knows what "new" stars WWE will have in 2 and a half years time? Midcarders now will have to step up, but which ones? Cody Rhodes, Sin Cara, Dibiase, Ziggler, Morrison, Bryan, Barrett?

Quite frankly, it is too hard to predict what will happen at WM28 let alone WM30.

Honestly I would do ANYTHING to make this WrestleMania the Undertaker's WrestleMania. Induct him into the hall of fame this year and give him one last match and make this something special so it can actually be remembered for something (unlike the last 2 WrestleManias). Another way to make it memorable would be to unify the titles. No one ever wants to when a thread is formed but EVERYONE agrees that talent is thin so it is COMPLETELY necessary to unify the titles/brands so that each show can get the best ratings. That being said, I'd book it like this:

CM Punk (WWE Champ) def. Randy Orton (World Champ)

Undertaker def. John Cena

Dolph Ziggler def. the Miz and Daniel Bryan (#1 contender match for Undisputed title)

Christian def. John Morrison

Cody Rhodes def. Alberto Del Rio

Justin Gabriel def. Rey Mysterio (c) for the Intercontinental Title

Alex Riley def. Zack Ryder

Kharma (c) def. Beth Phoenix for Diva's Title

Sheamus def. Wade Barrett in a Flag Match

Percy Watson def. Tyson Kidd (c) for the United States Championship

I`m going to say something a little out there: john Cena won`t still be with the company. I say this bc there isn`t much left for him to do, but if he is, here is how it`ll be.

Cena vs Orton- retirement match

as far as other guys I can see Miz being around as the next Cena, and maybe punk if he keeeps this up.

as far as midcard talent rising up or even still being there I think it is hard to say with how creative tend to drop the ball with guys very soon after giving them a god push. that being said I`ll go with the guys who hav stood the test of time and have improved continuously: Rhodes, Ziggler, and maybe even john morrison could and should be strong ME`s long before then. Not sure if guys like sheamus and delrio will still be around based on them being so old and will have won the big prize so quickly. they scream ME holders until the future can rise to par before they do brock lesnars.

Well it's almost impossible to guess the card for WM 30. With there being injuries, retirement, suspension, future endeavours and even worse deaths, wrestling is a business where anything can happen and most of the time anything does happen it's almost impossible to guess what will happen in a couple of years. But what I can see is Cena being a heel. I'm not someone that always says they want Cena to turn heel but I can see it. In a few years kids may have grown up and got bored of Cena so they don't buy his merchandise that means he won't make Vince/Triple H money so that means there's no reason to keep him as a face.
