Getting Noticed By Management
So I'm thinking of getting wow aka world of war craft. I have some friends that are really into it so i may try it out but before I do I was wondering do any of you guys play wow? What is your opinion about it. Is it worth paying the monthly fee for it? Is it true that once you play wow that is all you ever do lol. Just wanted to see what your experience in the game is. I don't know much about it so any information about it would be great.

I've had several friends who played and were very addicted to the game almost like crack. They played for hours on end almost daily. They all then quit realizing how stupid it was. However, I do know some people that play and enjoy it without going overboard. The game doesn't look very appealing in my opinion, looks like it gets very repetitive.

No thats not true at all, people have taken this game way out of the relms of rational thinking. Yes you will have nutjobs that play it 24/7, but look at it this way... what games havent?

Wow is a great game to play to have fun and chill. It has a very friendly user base, that for the most part don't get to rowdy. They have literaly millions of things to do in the game, and even more on tuesday when the new expansion come out *plug plug plug*

As far as the repetitive nature of it, yes it has that. But literaly if your stuck lvling you can go about on raids and instances and lvl even quicker. That aspect of the game was allmost obliterated with the new advent of the dungion finder. It finds you an instance automaticly and enters you into it.

This.

People are too harsh on World of Warcraft because of the small community that takes it much too seriously. I have even heard people say a few times on these forums that people who play it have no taste in gaming, you know that kind of crap.

Truth is, it is the best game of its genre, and probably will continue to be for a short while (new star wars mmo and guild wars 2 MIGHT challenge it). It is a game that took the best of mmo's before it, and made a fantastic game with so much to do in it. I have played on and off myself, and like Phatso, find it to be very good for relaxing, the dungeon finder provides me with an enjoyable way to level and make friends (when your healer, people generally will be nice to you ;P).

I am about level 65 if I remember correctly, and will not buy more time for a while because I did find it got a tad repetitive for me, however I dont doubt its a game im going to go back to shortly.

Like COD or Halo, WoW is a game that gets more hate then it should because of its immense popularity and small group of diehards who give the community a bad name. In truth the community is mostly lovely (long as you avoid Barrens) with people willing to help newer players and let them take their time to figure things out. Clearly the developers have put their heart and soul into the game as well, updates are constant, the expansions are huge deals and the game is gigantic, with so much to do, one of the biggest games ever made if not the biggest. I have little problem with World Of Warcraft, even if I personally can only play it for a month or two at a time.

I dont play the game but I know a few people that do and they often stay up all night playing it, they say its awesome but really addictive.

My biggest memory regarding WOW is when I was out getting my haircut and the guy sat in the chair next to me was really twitchy and anxious, and the girl cutting his hair asked him was he ok and he replied that he was, but he needed to get back to carry on playing Warcraft as it had been a couple of hours without....kinda pathetic if you ask me.

Also, the guy in the next room to my brother at university ended up failing his 1st year as he got into the habit of sleeping all day and playing Warcraft all night, occasionally going into uni without any sleep, or without a shower etc...they literally didnt see him for weeks on end and his room fucking smelled awful. He just spent all his time in there playing WOW

The game holds no interest for me luckily, as I wouldnt wanna end up like that. I dont think I would, and most people do not, but it is meant to be addictive

ya im not addicted, i know some people that called in from work to play wow and that is fucking stupid.
But can someone explain how the group thing works, working with other people. I have a hard time trying to do guilds and what not.

I play it off and on. In fact, when I do play it, I go to gamestop and buy the 2 month prepaid card instead of putting my information online. But ya, it's fun. I actually just recently started playing again. Kinda pissed that I forgot my password to my old account, so I had to start a new temp account until I stop being lazy and email blizzard about it.

Edit: I just remembered my password and I'm back on my old account! If you wanna play, just hit me up and I'll start a new toon with you.

World of Warcraft is fun, people knock it because there are some people that make the game look negative. But really I raid 4-5 nights a week with some of the best players in the world and a lot of them do have social lives.
