Would The Rock defend the Title in an Elimination Chamber?

No and that's why I don't see Rock winning at the Rumble - I could see him winning The Rumble as a late entry then going to to Mania and win the championship. I wouldn't want to see him compete 3 ppvs in a row and I'm sure the producers of the movies he has coming up wouldn't want it either.

I would love to see a Rock/Taker match but Taker is to beat down to carry a match and the Rock is past the point of it. This is the PERFECT chance to have the Rock put over someone other than Cena or Punk at mania and helping build a new main eventer.

If I could write it I would have CM Punk defeat The Rock at the Royal Rumble (in a slightly underhand manner) so that The Rock gets another shot in the Chamber, then have Rock exact his revenge in the Elimination Chamber pinning Punk to win the title. Cena then beats Rock at Mania, Punk wins the World title and then Cena and Punk unify the gold at Extreme Rules.

I highly doubt he'd wrestle in the Elimination Chamber. On the road to WrestleMania, the WWE wouldn't risk injury to their most valuable asset (in terms of WrestleMania buy rates). The Rock would likely just end up defending the WWE Championship (since there's no way he'll lose at the Royal Rumble) in a rematch against the former champ (likely CM Punk, since I see Rock vs Cena II at WrestleMania 29). Honestly, I prefer that to the Elimination Chamber anyway. The chamber was pretty cool when it actually meant something, but now it's just an annual PPV, so it has no real significance.

I can definitely see the WWE choosing to have The Rock skip Elimination Chamber too, but I doubt it. At the very least, they'll have him cut a promo or something. He'll definitely appear, especially as champion.

If Rock wins at Royal Rumble, he NEEDS to be in the elimination chamber. He doesn't deserve another title run if he wants to skip out on that match. WWE already has the Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank as #1 contender plot devices.

This. In my opinion The Rock doesn't even deserve his match against Punk, let alone winning the title. This isn't even in-storyline either,
I don't mind the fact he's doing one-off appearances, but when he gets thrown into title matches that's where the line should be drawn.

There's no way in hell he could do a title run with all the crap he's doing right now, Fast 6, Pain and Gain promoting and so on. Hell, by Wrestle Mania time he'll be promoting G.I Joe 2.

If they want the title on a part-timer give it to Brock Lesnar, at least he's just sitting around doing nothing essentially.

^ yeah even as a big time Rock fan from the Attitude Era days, I don't think it's very fair that he can just step right in and get a shot at the title

it might be a great business move, but credibility wise, and going forward ... especially if Rock wins the Belt at Royal Rumble, how will The Rock and WWE do going forward to Wrestle Mania .. especially with his very busy movie schedule

**Is Rock actually going to defend his belt once or twice .. or just hold onto till the likely/inevitable rematch with John Cena at Wrestlemania

regarding

"but the big question is, Is there anyway we can avoid the twice in a lifetime match?" .. I dunno, seems pretty inevitable at this point, I understand "Once in a Lifetime" was just a tagline, but come on, to do a rematch of last years WM main event the following year

as if all the hype and build up of the First Rock-Cena match at WM 28 wasn't enough .. just run it back a year later, lazy booking if you ask me .. which can only be justified by, " Rock vs Cena is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and nobody can deny this."

Okay I won't deny it Rock vs Cena will make $$, but if you ask me after all the hype and build up the first go around, when it was all set and done I came away pretty disappointed .. and that's even with the Rock winning.

so now fast forward a year, the Rock might go into WM as Champion, but vs Cena again? I mean come on ... where's the public demand?

Aside from Cena and Cenanation wanting revenge on the Rock

I don't see the big push for an over hyped up match that for the most part disappointed.

and I'm more concerned with the character of C.M Punk, as long title reign aside, it would be pretty disappointing if he was to lose the belt to Rock, paving the way for that Cena-Rock WM rematch.

I don't see the rock competing in the EC, he'll probably just have a 1 on 1 match and retain at EC.

but the big question is, Is there anyway we can avoid the twice in a lifetime match?

I really hope so. I think if the Rock winning the title leads to him Dropping it to Cena. Then I have lost all faith in this company as a star making machine.

Rock should give an up and coming guy a chance to have the match of a lifetime... but thats me... I'm just an armchair booker.

It looks like Punk will be champ at the Royal Rumble. He got out of the Cena feud and HIAC against Ryback without dropping the title. Those were the two times where you thought he could lose the title. He is not defending it at SS and I dont see him dropping the title at TLC.

If Rock wrestles at EC, it's likely going to be a rematch against Punk. Both Orton and HBK said in interviews that the elimination chamber is the most physically grueling match in the WWE. I doubt they would ever put Rock in one.

I could see Punk saving his rematch for WM, but I'm not sure if Cena would be pushing Vince for that. Cena mentioned a couple of times how he wants to face The Rock again. Cena's probably going to want to beat Rock in a singles match. I doubt he wants a triple threat match at WM. Unless they do something like Rock vs Undertaker, it looks like they are setting up a Rock/Cena rematch with the WWE title on the line.

I think the RAW Elimination Chamber match will be the #1 contendership and it will come down to Punk and Cena. That much seems obvious.

That way, Rock doesn't have to defend the belt in the RAW chamber.

Okay, I think CM Punk needs to win at the Royal Rumble. Punk needs a victory in this feud. But then Punk should drop the belt in the Elimination Chamber, maybe not even being pinned by The Rock.

The next night on Raw CM Punk has his re-match and loses, then Punk goes on to fued with someone else for WrestleMania. The Rock goes on to fight Cena at Mania.

However during the run up to Mania I would like to see The Rock fight the likes of Undertaker, Triple H and Austin (if possible) for the title for old times sakes. This would IMO be a nice throw back for older fans, it wouldn't be hogging the spotlight too much if these matches happened on Raw, Smackdown or maybe even Main Event. Plus it makes the WWE Title and the champion look very strong heading into Wrestlemania where Rock drops the belt to Cena.

At least the new Elimination Chamber poster suggests that the Rock will be in the Chamber match. I'm not sure about what the actual PPV will look like. The singles matches won't be too great because you have to have strong chambers that sometimes have the midcard title holders in too. I think the chamber for the WWE title will be: Rock, Cena, Punk, Wade Barrett, Ryback and maybe some random big guy or a returned Christian. The WHC chamber I think will be: Big Show, Sheamus, Orton, Ziggler, Cesaro and Alberto Del Rio. It'll probably look a little bit different if they want the US and IC titles on the line but, that's my general guess. (That's also assuming Team Hell No will still be tag champions and defending rather than in the chamber which they'd be able to fit in nicely with...)

I see a Raw guy winning the Rumble, as Ziggler is all but confirmed cash in his MITB and become World Heavyweight Champion. I see Punk beating The Rock at Royal Rumble with a disgruntled person/s interfering and taking out The Rock. How bad is it going to ,look that the WWE champ of over 400 days will lose to a guy who hasn't wrestled for a year and is 40???? Rock is booked for EC, I see it being Punk vs Cena vs Rock vs Barrett vs Kingston vs Ryback at EC. Looking forward to this weeks Raw, the Road to Wrestlemania will kick off in the lead up to Rumble

My guess is: Rock wins at RR, defends at EC against Punk (rematch clause) then goes on to face the winner of the RR match, the surprise final entrant and winner, Undertaker. Rock vs Undertaker. Title vs Streak. One of the greats that Undertaker hasn't faced at 'Mania!

If Rock does win at RR, then Punk's rematch will be at EC. If Punk wins at RR, Rock might cut a promo at EC that sets up for a separate 'Mania feud or maybe have a pointless one on one match. Either way, I don't see him competing in the Chamber. There is really no reason for him to.

Here's my guess: Punk retains the title at the rumble which throws a curveball, Cena wins the rumble match, then rock wins the title at EC, sets up Cena vs Rock(c) vs Punk at Mania! At least this is what I hope happens!

If The Rock was to win the title at RR and then go on to defend at EC he'd most likely enter the chamber last if he defends in the Elimination Chamber, taking very little to no bumps outside the ring.
If they want to take the safe way out they could always just have Punk use his rematch clause in a one on one match.

I wouldn't even put the belt on Rock honestly. His match sells itself just like the Undertaker match will. At this point, you have 4 or 5 guaranteed draws. The Taker match, Rock match, WWE title match, and WHC match. If you add a seperate Lesnar match, that's 5 pretty big draws. Although you're going to start overlapping. Rock vs Lesnar, Lesnar vs Taker, etc might happen. All sorts of awesome ways it can go.

I don't see Rock in an EC match, maybe a 1 on 1 match but that'd be it. I'd still book him, in a contract signing or something.

He better defend his title because If The Rock does win at the Royal Rumble, I would not want to have a champion that will not show and defend his title at a great PPV!

i doubt it as he's making too many movies and money too risk injury i dont think he should of ended punks reigen it should of been ziggler
