Worst PPV ever?

Skullz Crack'Em

Lord of the Skulls
The title says it all, what was the worst wrestling PPV ever produced?

Hands down, Heroes of Wrestling for me. Jake the Snake Roberts pretending to *********e with Damien the snake says it all lol. This PPV was so sloppy and poorly produced I don't even know where to begin.

For one, the commentary was shit and that is just the beginning. The announced card changed multiple times and the Main Event ended up being two matches rolled into one with Bundy and Neidhart versus Roberts and Yokozuna which lead to confusion of how the match was suppose to end. The matches were pretty awful as well, even though there were huge names apart of this event, most of them were past their prime and most of the matches were dull and boring. And lets not forget, Jake Roberts was piss drunk out of his mind and put on one of the most infamous interviews of all time(in a bad way of course) and made the Main Event look more shitty than it was going to be anyway.

So, what is everybody else's opinion on what they think is the worst wrestling PPV of all time?

The worst ppv of all time hands down Judgment Day 2005 an all Smackdown ppv with a horribe card from start to finish and the most memorable part was John Cena's entrance.

i would have to say .......

King of the ring 2006 it just totally sucked with the king booka thing that was a waste of time he isnt even in the wwe now.

Cyber Sunday 2006. Off the top of my head. If I thought about it I would probably come up with a PPV from 1995, featuring Taker & Masbel. Or something along those lines.

Cryber Sunday was total crap. It was a show with a gimmick. Which should almost immediatley make it more intresting than a usual PPV. All the big stars were there. They have every world champ in in the main event. They have the first match in the Rated RKO/D-X feud. Two legends taking on The Spirit Squad. And yet every single match failed to deliver. You acn't find one good match throughout the whole show. The best was probably Kane/Umaga. And that was still garbage. Worse than December To Dismember a month or so later. Why? Simple answer, It had one good match and one ok match. Which is something Cyber Sunday didn't.

There was a period when most ppv's where rubbish, around 2005/2006, I'd stay up late to watch them and end up falling asleep because I was so bored, I also disliked when PPV's where brand PPV's mainly because i didn't enjoy smackdown, so the smackdown ones bored the hell out of me.
I'd also have the say the Wrestlemania's where Cena made Triple H and HBK tap out, that just spoiled my night, twice.

it has got to be december to dismember. Half the matches wouldn't even had made the card on heat in any normal circumstances. But because it was just an ECW PPV none of the good wrestlers from SD or RAW featured. the best match was probs The hardyz Vs MnM and that was average. thank god they are not having it this year.

Anyone who has seen heroes of wrestling has to say it is the worst PPV ever. If you haven't seen it imagine a high school video production class trying to produce a live wrestling show with its main attraction drunk of his ass and high as a kite at the same time. Every aspect of a live wrestling show was screwed up beyond belief.

ECW DTD speaks for itself. They didn't even announce the matches before hand because the only thing worse than not annoucing the matches would be to annouce the actual matches. This is the second worse of all time.

A close third is Souled Out 99. The crusierweights saved this from being worse than DTD 06, but the Scott Hall/Goldberg Main Event was probably the worst PPV main event in WCW history.

The Great American Bash 2004 where the MAIN FREAKING EVENT was The Undertaker vs The Dudleyz in a "Paul Bearer in Cement" match. I mean COME ON! You couldn't come up with anything a little less insulting to the intelligence of a wrestling fan?

The JBL vs Eddie Guerrero Bull Rope Match was a nice tip of the hat to Nikita Koloff and Sting from GAB 1991, but still not the best of the classic JBL / Guerrero Feud.

Mordecai beat Hardcore Holly. Holly is one of the most respected men in WWE, in part because he keeps none of his dignity when Vince calls asking for someone to be put over.

Luther Reigns beat Charlie Haas. Ok, Haas isn't the next WWE Champ, but Luther Reigns? Freaking Tom Selleck on steroids? He was terrible, so was this match.

Kenzo Suzuki beat Billy Gunn. THERE ISN'T ENOUGH WATER IN THE ATLANTIC OCEAN TO DRINK FAST ENOUGH TO HAVE ENOUGH PISS BREAKS TO MISS THE CRAP MATCHES!

My pick is The Great American Bash '05. Their wasn't a single redeeming thing about it. Even the Eddie Guerrero/Rey Mysterio match wasn't up to par with their other memorable bouts from that year. And that was the only match I could possibly consider ok. The main event was basically nothing but a set up match for SummerSlam. It wasn't a very good set up match for a set up match either.

Close second: WWA Inception (from 2001/2002)- taped in late 2001 and aired in early 2002.

i would have to say .......

King of the ring 2006 it just totally sucked with the king booka thing that was a waste of time he isnt even in the wwe now.

Are we watching the same stuff on TV or something? It may be 3:39AM in the morning and I'm piratically losing my mind but I could have sworn King Of The Ring PPV was discontinued after 2002, but like said I am dead tired and I could be wrong, unless you're talking about the tournament that took place last year that took place on SmackDown!.

Worst PPV I ever seen? Never once in my life did I order a wrestling PPV nor do I have time to wait for a file to complete at 100% from E-Share or whatever. Out of the ones I seen, I would chose WrestleMania 1 but I'm giving it an exception due to the strong electricity and the fact it was the first actual major event of course back then was on closed circuit television. The matches were too short, some bored the hell out of me and focussed too strong on bringing in celebrities and outside entertainment but like said an exception is being made due to things were different back then. Compare to what I seen, I thought WM1 was a major let down and was horrible compare to many pro wrestling PPV's from the past decade and a half.

I guess I will go with One Night Stand 2007. The PPV had no meaning and absolutely no point at all. They had a PPV 2 weeks ago so the lack of time gave a bad build up which bad build ups leading into an event doesn't help to convince someone to contribute $40. Even the WWE knew there wasn't much left for One Night Stand after the recent PPV Judgment Day so every match was a gimmick match with the claim that the entire event was "Extreme Rules" but I guess it traces back to when it used to be an ECW homecoming annual event.

John Cena getting a win over the giant. When we were younger did we not all have a smile when we heard Jack axed the beanstalk that eventually killed off the giant? Okay, I admit that kind of stuff got over with me 15 years ago. While many can be blinded by Cena's lengthy title reign, a good portion of his PPV matches actually delivered which helps me to come to conclusion he is under-rated when it comes to bigger events, but with such a horrible opponent like Khali there was no way he could pull this one.

Vince McMahon still in depression after losing the ECW title. So I get pissed off after losing a title to someone else that I won on SmackDown vs Raw 2008 and I felt Vince's acting was pretty good in this storyline but overall it wasn't appealing enough. The match just sucked. The storyline should of ended after Backlash.

Kane vs Mark Henry. Oh joy.

Edge vs Batista in a steel cage. As much of a fan as I am of the match specialty, this match was pretty much pointless. Did we not see the exact main event 2 weeks ago? How many PPVs does/did Batista need to headline in a row w/out winning a single match?

The Hardys vs the World's Greatest Tag Team was actually good, but one 15 minute or so match can't create another 2 hours of action.

Randy Orton vs RVD was solid too. Probably a combination of like 45 minutes of decent stuff on the event to say the least, but they weren't matches predicted to become a "show stealer" or high profiled matches.

For me, the worst PPV i ever watched was NWO Souled Out. Talk about a bad PPV. All the matches were about making WCW wrestlers look bad. Why would you have a beauty contest without any beautiful woman. Finally the main event was a joke. Not only did it make The giant look stupid but it also left a bad taste in everybody's mouth.

December to dismember-easily the worst i've seen! lets say the whole undercard was crap(which it was!) except for the hardys mnm match. but thats ok, cause we have the EXTREME elimination chamber! i mena the chamber is a fantastic match always and this time, we have weapons! how can it go wrong? well first-sabu was taken out for no reason, then cm punk(the man i hoped would win the chamber after triple h said he would on raw) was eliminated first! then this match when downhill from their. it was the worst chamber match by about a hundred times over! it was depressing to watch. i'm glad i never paid to see it(though i heard that the few who had paid asked for their money back, i was nearly set on asking for my three hours back!) this PPv was bad as their is not a redeeming feature in ruining a first class gimmick! (older readers must feel this way about war games!)

King of the Ring 1995 would have to be up there, my God that sucked so bad. Main event was atag match featuring Diesle and bam bam against sid and tatanka. O it was the year Mable got crowned! enough said. he was gone from the company with in months. lol.

Another that comes to mind, WrestleMania 11. Actually, any 1995 ppv would make the list, the entire year sucked. Maybe that years Royal Rumble was the only PPV that was some what decent...

Thank god someone said WM11. I was reading and reading and just waiting to put my post. Have you ever looked at the times of the matches in WM11??? The wrestling in the entire event adds up to less than 80 minutes. A full PPV, a WrestleMania, and only an hour and 20 minutes of WRESTLING??? and the matches suck SO much. Truth be told, there are probably worse PPVs out there, but I give this one my nod because it was a WRESTLEMANIA!!! If you can't put on a decent show for the "WWF's version of the Superbowl", then cancel the damn thing.

Bulldog/Luger v. the Blus/Harris Bros/Skull & 8 Ball- Is this an exceptional waste of, well, not talent, I guess, but at least namesake? I could see it if there was some kind of US/Jolly ol' England feud with a Japanese or German tag team, but just two dudes with no national allegiance of any kind going against the Stars and Stripes and Union Jack? Who could possibly care about this match???

Ramon v Jarrett- One of the few decent feuds of this era, but it ends in DQ? At Wrestlemania? What purpose does that serve?

Taker v Bundy- Notice how when they look back at Taker's WM history, they don't ever seem to spend much time on this match? Though I think Taker's feud with Dibiase's faction was one of the other few redeeming feuds of this time, watching Bundy in 1986 was painful, let alone 1995.

Owen/Yoko v Smoking Gunns- Mystery partner's consistently piss me off with only a few exceptions. This was not really one of them. Though their team somewhat blossomed and became interesting, the match itself did nothing for me.

Hart v Backlund, I Quit- I liked Piper's presence, but a submission match that lasts less than 10 minutes? And the fact that Backlund ever came back, let alone won a title, let alone took the spot of what could have been someone much more interesting to face Hitman in a submission match at WM just wears me out. His whole return, his gimmick, his appearances as a congressional candidate did nothing but bother me and do damage to what was an impressive legacy.

Diesel v HBK- Fine match, I guess, whatever, but you know what pissed me off about this? Who the fuck are these celebrities and why are they at WrestleMania?? When Pete Rose shows up, he gets tombstoned. When Bob Euker shows up, he gets choked by Andre. When Leslie Nielson and George Kennedy show up, they crack the case of the Undertaker. When the kid from Home Improvement and John Turturro's little brother show up, they have some of the LAMEST backstage interactions ever and then basically do nothing.
- On a side note, kudos to WWE for getting Pam Anderson and Jenny McCarthy. Though seeing them serve the purpose of feeding Kevin Nash's giant ego did little for me. Get one or both of these two to have a wardrobe malfunction and WM11 gets bumped up to top 5.

LT v Bam Bam- Ah, finally. The reason why WM11 is the worst fucking PPV ever. Lawrence Taylor coked out of his mind "wrestling" Bam Bam Bigelow. OH, and not just "wrestling" him, but beating him. And not just beating him, but pinning him, 1, 2, 3. I guess that must be the trade for a guy like Bam Bam to headline WM11. Get pinned by a cokehead linebacker from the NFL. You can talk about burying Paul Bearer in cement, not announcing matches to a card until the PPV, and even watching Jake the Snake jerk off Damien all you want, but when you put Lawrence Taylor gaining a pinfall victory against an accomplished and legendary wrestler AFTER your World Heavyweight Championship match at the BIGGEST SHOW OF THE YEAR, you have just created the worst PPV in history, in my opinion.

NOTHING BEATS December to dismember it was the most shit ppv ever. Every match was shit, it finished early, never had a build, up matches wernt even decided, THE FINALE THE MOST INSULTING PIECE O CRAP WRESTLING THE EXTREME ELIMINATION CHAMBER i mean come on what one weapon each and BOBBY LASHLEY WINS WTF he wasnt even champ material.

I guess that WM 11 sounds like one of the worst PPV of all time seeing as it was a wrestlemania their main ppv of the year which should be the best wrestling that year. Havnt seen it glad i havnt maybe the fact it was so bad is why people havnt seen it.

the worst ppv for me had to be wcw halloween havoc 1999. hogan lays down for sting in a well hyped re-match...why? goldberg v.s sid ends in a k.o when sid wasnt even knocked out, disco inferno as cruiserweight champion...now think about that for a second. harlam heat pinning knobs and morris via the evil plastic mummy shot. berlyn appearing on ppv. goldberg defeating sting to win the title in a clusterfuck of a match setting up a clusterfuck title tornament. oh did i forget to metion this ppvs two biggest atrocities: 1)rey mysterio, konnan, billy kidman and eddie guerrero beating up ric flair to bury him in the desert where weeks later he rose from the dead undertaker style and 2)lex luger defeats bret hart(if that wasnt bad enough) via submission.

i think this ppv deserves its place as worse ever.

For me it has to be Judgement Day 2007 in St. Louis, because I paid $80 per ticket for a ppv that was supposed to have Undertaker vs. Batista in a Hell in a Cell. But since Taker got injured the ppv before we saw Edge vs. Batista where Batista acted like he injured his leg and lost by a roll-up from Edge. Lashley vs. McMahon for the ECW Title and the match didn't even last 2 minutes!!! MVP vs. Benoit for the US Title (best 2 out of 3 falls), Benoit lost *WTF* enough said but atleast I can say I saw Benoit's last ppv match. Khali vs. Cena for the WWE Title, and we all know who won *BORING!!!* Just to show you how bad of a ppv it was I saw for sale on E-Bay 2 tickets 5 rows up from the floor center ring and they were being sold for $20 less than face value!

I can't say I've been a fan of any of the Cyber Sunday events. I loved the idea of these, as often you get fans complaining that the WWE doesn't listen to anything the fans want so I thought this was their way to prove us wrong.

Cyber Sunday generally has every major superstar off the roster in it. All the WWE legends are there wrestling, and who we want them to as well. This should automatically set it aside from every other PPV of the year. And it wouldn't make it better in terms of talent, but better in terms of interest.

However Cyber Sunday just disappoints, especially in 2006. Mind you, Spirit Squad were involved we should have known nothing good would come out of it. But even so, the amount of talent in this should have pulled it straight up. Orton, Edge, Shawn and HHH all in one ring. And a special guest referee. How did this not entertain half way as much as it should? It was still an okay match but I was very let down.

There was some WCW PPV about a year before it went bust. The opening match was Bam Bam Bigelow vs Hardcore Hak (Sandman). Holy lame.

Next match was Scotty Riggs, The guy who looks better each day, vs Mikey Whipreck. Um. Suck.

My buddy said it best. 'This PPV has nowhere to go but up'. He was wrong.

The end had DDP become WCW champion, so it wasn't all bad. But holy suck. 5 or 6 of us chipped in to pay for it. We all felt gyped.

in my opinion all the events form early 2006 to late 2007 were FU**** HORRIFIC. im not blaming cena but if this man wants to suck vinces balls and be champ for hundreds of years, he could atleast put on some good damn matches and make us not sleep through his matches. his matches were constanly boring, SAME OLD SHIT. the worst of 2007 had to be judgement day, one night stand and the main events in wrestlemania 22 and 23 where both cena headlined and failed to deliver.

i would have to say .......

King of the ring 2006 it just totally sucked with the king booka thing that was a waste of time he isnt even in the wwe now.

The ppv was not called king of the ring. It was judgment day '06 and is the ppv where taker vs khali, angle vs henry(angle gets counted out), londrick win the titles from mnm, finlay vs benoit, and rey retains vs jbl, so yeah it was a pretty bad ppv

Wrestlemania 21... I know I know... there were some good matchs on there... but all former PPVs pale in compairison... think about it, this was the night Cena became champion, and held the WWE hostage for over 2 years with that damn belt... because of that PPV, wrestlemania 22 sucked, because somehow HHH tapped to Cenas ****** submit move... then wrestlemania 23.... i don't have to even explain that, not only does cena beat HBK (bullshit) but also... all the hype was for a "hair vs hair" match with Vinnie mac... who the hell cares if he is bald, wrestlemania should be about wrestling, not vinnie's ego... fucker... so yah, since WM21, it's all been down hill, that's why I vote for that.

Wrestlemania 21 was a decent ppv sure you had cena win but that doesnt make it a bad ppv, The hbk/angle match was Very good along with the hhh/batista match Wrestlemania 22 was good too. HHH/Cena match in my oppinon was very good along with the triple threat match for the WHC. I also believed the Vince vs HBK match was good too. Wrestlemania 23 didnt have very good matches other than batista/taker the Cena/hbk match was good but just because hbk didnt win i dont think you can call this a bad ppv.

to me the worst ppv was over the edge due to the fact that afta owen hart had the tragic fall, wwf decided to continue the ppv
wtf is up wit that

anotha bad ppv would be ecw december to dismember due to the fact that the elimination chamber was hyped up alot and turned out to be shit bcoz sabu was taken out and rvd and cm punk wer taken out earlier in the match
the other matches were all fillers (except for hardys match)

For me, the worst PPV i ever watched was NWO Souled Out. Talk about a bad PPV. All the matches were about making WCW wrestlers look bad. Why would you have a beauty contest without any beautiful woman. Finally the main event was a joke. Not only did it make The giant look stupid but it also left a bad taste in everybody's mouth.

Agreed here on this one, Souled out 1997 was a joke, im not even going to get into the other ones they had. This NWO sponsored PPV was terrible, completely horrible. It was a wcw pay per view though, so it gets my vote for worst ever. But since this is the WWE thread, you two guys who talked about WM 11 made me think about it again. And it was truly terrible, ill rate that the worst WWE PPV either, just cause its WM for God's sake, WM deserves better
