Worst album

There are some albums where you buy it because you like a single on it, and are disppointed with the rest of the album.
For me, I was disappointed with Gym Class Heroes - As cool as school children. There is actually only one good song on here, 2 at the most. Clothes off and Scandalous Scholastics. The band needs some new material, as most of the songs sound the same, and they seem to move away from the styles that work for them, such as in the song Cupid's Chokehold.

Also Ne-yo - Because Of You really let me down. The song So Sick is a favourite of mine, so I thought this album would live up to that, as his first was also good. However this album is majorly about an ex girlfriend and is really depressing to listen to, especially when most of the lyrics aren't meaningful.

All I can say is that is pretty much your own fault for buying the albums of those two...no surprises you were let down.

Disappointing- The Bravery's album
A Weekend in the City- Bloc Party. Failed to live up to the aura that 'Silent Alarm' had built for them.
Razorlight. The eponymous album was god awful. 'Up All Night' had huge raw promise...but they went completely to pot in the second with crap such as 'America'.

Hmm and your crap posts seem to be the reason you were banned :p

Razorlights album was awful, I agree. I didn't buy that but I borrowed it off a friend. But then again I've never been a big fan of their music. America just annoyed me, it sounded exactly the same as all the other rubbish on the album.

i remember a couple of years ago listening to 50 cent on the radio and liking the songs so i went and brought the album but even though the names were same the songs where completley differant it sucked :( so now i dont buy any albums just singles for me. unless its nickelback you can not go wrong with nickelback

worst album i ever got was guillemots, i still to this day havent listen to it all the way thru without falling asleep, shame really.

i think the razorlight self titled album was good in response to the parrot guy.

sometimes i get the scenario where i like an album come back to it and have either killed it or it just dosent seem as good anymore, usually with bands that you feel like you should like but dont really know why, for example kooks album i used to love but feel ashamed to own it now

I don't buy many albums, but I think the worst album I ever bought was Alien Ant Farm's 2000 Anthology.

I loved their remake of Smooth Criminal, and decided to take a gamble and just buy the album. I've never felt so robbed in my entire life. And this is including the times I was actually robbed.

I second Razorlight, they really do suck, there songs are so fooking cheesy and I hate the way radio 1 bum them, they are sooo shit. Also the Kooks- inside in, inside out, fook me I would rather subject myself to putting Rhianna's umbrella permently on loop on my mp3 player, it might be slightly less annoying than Pritchards vocals.

Just a tad juvenile... tbh not actually that bothered.

The Kooks album is a joke...especially the lead singers voice/lyrics. Another bad album has to be Mika's album. Can anyone actually listen to his high pitched squeaking? Would be ok if he made good songs but he fails in that too. The melodies are too basic and without good lyrics to make up for it its a complete loss.

The Wombats album is also pretty shite. Yet people bought it, the only reason though was because people heard one half decent song on radio one so they presumed it would be good. Thats why people have given up on buying music, I wouldnt pay 50p for this album, i regret downloading it illegally it was that bad. How these bands like razorlight get more air time than sterophonics is beyond me. 1 person to blame- Chris Moyles he's a fucking wanker, and has shit taste in music.

ummmm.. HAHAH

Nickleback sucks! every song sounds the same!

Basicly any 50 cent or mainstream hip hop album is horrible but if i had to pick one i would sayyyyyy

Bravehearts- Bravehearted.

I have and love all of H.I.M.'s UK releases. My biggest dissapointment and vote for worst album would be their american release Dark Light.

The only way I can honestly try and describe it is it sounds like they're a different band trying to rip off themselves. Its one of the most generic sound albums with even more generic lyrics. I will never forget the day this album came out. I bought it from the Target I worked at before leaving for Duluth (about a 2 1/2 hour drive), put it in my CD player and listen to the whole album on the ride up. Halfway through I started to just hope for one good song, but I didn't get one.

I wouldn't recommend this album to anyone I remotely like.

For me it would have to be Metallica's St. Anger. Being a huge Metallica fan, especially their music from the '80s, I was horribly let down by this CD. No guitar solos, too much snare in the drums, half assed songwriting at best. The album was just a complete letdown not just for me, but for Metallica's whole fanbase. I respect the album for what it was, an attempt to sound more stripped down and to break away from the typical Metallica sound, but I just feel that the lack of guitar solos dated the CD to the current trend in rock and metal music right now. Hopefully their new album coming out this year will be a lot better.

Monstrosity's Spiritual Apocalypse for me. I've been a huge fan of their earlier work for years, and I was pleasantly suprised when I heard the song 'Firestorm' off of this. Sadly, the rest of the album sounds like a mediocre metalcore band with overdone production, song structures sounding wearisome with no interesting standard and riffs which lack any innovation or originality. The vocals are about the only thing I enjoy on this record.

I can't stand Crossfade's second album, whatever it was called...Falling Away I think, that's how well I remember it. Their first self-titled "big-time" debut in 2004 was pretty damn good, with 6 or 7 good songs on it.

But this one (released in 2006, I believe) is just crap. I think by the third song I was nearly asleep. I don't understand why bands, when they get "big", on their follow-up album after doing so, they get all shitty and soft because they want to "explore their limits" or whatever crap they say.

Anyway, Crossfade did just that on this album. Their first CD was filled with good rhythm, good guitar riffs, and lyrics that went with the music. On this album, it seems as if the singer just sits down and reads a poem, no matter what the rhythm of the music is behind him. ON EVERY SONG. Dammit, why do bands cut off their own balls and go soft all the time!?

Well, I just gave a bunch of CDs to my friend, and I slipped this one in there. Hopefully, he may not notice. Or he will, and I'll get it thrown through my window soon...

Worst Album I've ever bought?

Avril Lavigne - The Best Damn Thing.

What the fuck is with that album? The first one was good, the second was great. Then she comes out with BDT and lo and behold, it's shite. There's 2 good songs on the entire album. 2. And it's got 12 or 13 tracks. Girlfriend? Shite. Hot? Shite. Everything Back But You? Ugh. When You're Gone and Keep Holding On are the only tracks that keep this terrible album afloat, which is why I'm not going to see her at the NEC in May. First time Avril's come to Birmingham and I'm not going. And this crappy album is the reason.

The first 2 still rule though :D

Oh, and yeah, I own Razorlight's self-titled. And it's not as bad as some people are making out. I enjoyed America, it's still quite a good song. Can't Stop This Feeling I've Got is a good track too, as is In The Morning.

And for another album that has been mentioned - Inside In/Inside Out is a great album. Naive is the second most played song on my iPod, behind Stop and Stare by OneRepublic. She Moves In Her Own Way is the only bad song on the album really, the rest of it is good to great.

Dude...Cola...come on man. Seriously. Avril Lavigne? Really? That talentless hack who doesn't even write her own stuff? Who's voice sounds like nail on a chalk board? The same Avril who is the biggest god damn poseur to ever cross the face of the Earth. Never in my life have I seen someone try so very very hard to be something they no absolutely nothing about.

She's no better then Britney Spears or any of those other blonde hair bimbo pop princesses. No, infact she might just be worse.

I'm really not trying to diss you, but how in God's name can you find Avril Lavigne to be the slightest bit talented? How do you listen to her without feeling totally embarassed that you're a teenage boy listening to fucking AVRIL LAVIGNE.

I don't understand you dude. You like some great music like Madness & the Jam, but then you also like Avril Lavigne? Why?

I would honestly really geniunely like to know why you find her music enjoyable. Seriously, not joking, I'd really like to know man.

The first two albums are great. I don't find it embarassing in the slightest that I am a teenager listening to Avril Lavigne, as my music tastes are my music tastes. I'm very passionate about my taste in music. And, I enjoy Avril's music (well, Let Go and Under My Skin anyway) simply because she's a good singer. People listen to music for a variety of reasons. The beat, the guitar, the genre. I listen for 3 main reasons:

1. The Lyrics. If they're heart-felt, and they stir something inside you, then that's the kind of thing I like. Examples include Right Here Waiting (Richard Marx), Iris (Goo Goo Dolls) and Nothing Lasts Forever (Maroon 5)

2. The Style. This is the main one really, the style of the music. In my case, kind of... well, I don't know, bands like Kaiser Chiefs, Oasis, Killers, Editors, people like that. People I know have referred to it as Indie, but I'm not so sure. More kind of low level rock. Not pop, but not quite rock.

3. The Singing. If the singer is good, that is important to me, which is why I refuse to like Arctic Monkeys. Bastards cannot sing. People in this category include Amy Macdonald, Damien Rice (Cannonball = Simply wonderful song) and yes, Avril Lavigne.

Avril can sing, that's pure and simple. However, her third album, as I admit, slips out of the great style that she had on the second, and goes decidedly pop, which is not a good thing. But yeah, a combination of the style of the first 2 albums and also her voice. That's why I like her stuff.

Cattle Decapitation - To Serve Man

I bought a Various Artist cd that happened to have a demo song off this album on it. The music was ok, but mixed with the raw sound style of the demo it was pretty unique so when I found the cd at a local store for ten bucks I figured it was a steal. As it turns out, someone paying ME ten bucks to listen to it wouldn't have been worth it. No song on this cd is worth listening to, not even the one that originally got me to buy the album because it was 'polished up' and made to be unlistenable like the rest of the album. I can not say enough bad things about this steaming pile of crap.

The Worst album I ever bought I would have to say is Have A Nice Day By Bon Jovi. Now I am a die hard fan of theirs although I do like most of their stuff that was before I was even old enough to really listen to music I bought this album cause I had downloaded a advanced track of the number 9 track Complicated which rocked hard and I thought the rest of the album was the same boy was I wrong there were a few great tracks on it Complicated which I mentioned before. Last man standing the number 5 track. the title Track, and the number 3 track called Welcome To wherever U are but thats about it the rest of the album plain sucked in my opinion. To me the rest of the album was filled with pointless tracks like Novacaine. and Last Cigarette. I will always be a Bon Jovi fan but that album is in my opinion the worst one they ever did. thank god Lost Highway ended up being awesome.

I comepletely have to agree here. Apart from the fact, I liked girlfriend lol. But yeah this album - not worth it at all. She went wrong, very much so. She started caving into the commercialised side of female singers, and this album shows that. Next one I'm expecting her and Britney Spears to do a duet. Her first album was by far the best. And slowly her originality is being chipped away at, and soon she'll be no different from every other female pop star.

One of the worst albums I have ever bought was the Killers "Sam's Town"

Here is why

1. Sam's Town-was an okay song. It sounds weird and confusing and I had to listen to it several times to realize it was a patriotic song. It was not bad but not my best cup of tea (no pun intended) Grade=C+

2. enterlude-what the hell was this man? An enterlude? I paid 15 bucks to hear a 13 second song about the cd that I am about to listen to? GRADE=F

3. When You Were Young-Okay this song was probably the only good song on the entire album. It had good lyrics and good sounds. The only problem I had with it was how many times they referenced Jesus. I mean I have no problem with Jesus (I am a Catholic) but why oh why must the Killers use him in their songs? GRADE=B+

4. Bling=This song is so horrible that I want to jump off a bride when I hear it. The only good part about this song is the part where they sing about something in the rain-so horrible I dont even remember it. GRADE=F

5. For Reasons Unknown-this song is also bad and repetive and does not serve any purpose other than filler. it is like a squash match in a wrestling event. GRADE=D

6. Read my Mind-I have decided that this song is just njumb to me. This was basically a replication of one of their songs from the previous album which was entitled CHANGE YOUR MIND, seriously? Come up with something more original for the love of John. GRADE=D for lack of creativity.

7. Uncle Johnny-This was actually a decent song. It was about a man on drugs. It was also sung in a good way. It is a song that you can listen to when youre bored but not much else. GRADE=C-

8. Bones-this song was also decent. It was about a guy asking a girl to have sex with him basically. Can't complain about that although it did play in my car when one of my female friends was in it with me and I could tell she was unconfortable. Not bad. GRADE=B

9. My List-This song sucks. it is so slow and so boring I fall asleep. Nuff said. GRADE=F

10. This River is Wild-This song is is halfway decent but does not dleiver the ultimate knockout punch a song should deliver. GRADE=C-
11. Why do i keep counting-It has a ctachy tune but this song is also repetive and not very interesting to listen to. I would rather watch paint dry. GRADE=F

There you go, worst 15 bucks I ever spent and one of the worst albums I have bought.

Dishonourable mentions have to go to:

1. Good Charlotte - Good Morning Revival: Being a big fan of Good Charlotte, I brought their album as soon as it came out and was greatly dissapointed as the sound that I loved about them just wasn't there. The only thing that came close was 'The River'. I just hope their follow up will be a return to their roots.

And.

2. UnderOath - Define The Great Line: What can I say? It is one of the most forgettable albums ever. I have had this album for a while and I can only remember one name from the album and actually place it with a song. Felt extremely ripped off, but it was $10 so I can't complain to much because it was barely anything.

50 Cent's Curtis was very disapointing. It has to be 50's worse solo album ever. There is like 2 decent songs and thats it. Alot of it just sounds like rip-off of his other songs(amusement park=candy shop). His raps are very weak and the whole album feels like he just threw a bunch of old left over tracks together and made a album.

Well, I mostly scrap any crap album I "obtain." You get my drift. But there are some that were so bad I almost regret ever having heard them. For instance, the self-titled first record from Gorillaz. Now, I got this as a birthday present and all, so I had to put on my "OMGIMSOSATISFIEDTHANKSMUMYOURMYGOD" face. I decided to be nice enough to listen to it once. Now, that was the plan, but by the second song I had to tell her how much I hate Gorillaz and I chucked the record. There's no "music" in that shit.
