The way I see it is like in '06 with Germany/Italy; yes they're the hosts, but they have finally met a team who are not only better than them, but they've lost their best players and face a force that matches them in terms of star power and reputation/history.

Thiago Silva is quite a big miss too although I read that Brazil are trying to appeal his yellow. Dante isn't totally terrible though and combining fro powers with Luiz could yield some funny results.

Eugh, I initially picked Argentina before the tournament kicked off but Germany don't look like they can lose at the minute so I'll go for Germany.

My thinking is that Brazil will be fired up and will want to send the fans away happy while Netherlands have looked quite lethargic (Robben aside) in their last 2 games.
