Work, Work, Work

For the most, work is fun for me. Until it gets crowded. Then the fun goes away. I work in a McDonalds for those who don't know. But let's face it. Cooking full meals in under a minute exactly how people ask for it as well as cleaning up after stuff like grills and clogged toilets at 7.25 an hour, really seems like a losing deal.

The sad part is, I've always been curious about working in the restaurant business. I always said that I'd be a chef if it weren't for the fact that I can't cook.

Another job I've always been intrigued by is whoever makes the Titantron videos and graphics on WWE and TNA. As a matter of fact, that's pretty much the field I'm studying. AV and arts.

With those dumb tidbits in mind, lets talk work here. Where do you work? Where would you love to work? Where would you hate to work? You get the program.

As it states under my name, I work at Gamestop. I sell games, systems, accessories, etc. I love my work for the most part. About 90% of the customers are really laid back and don't cause trouble. I also get 7.25 an hour, but hopefully I'll get a promotion on wednesday (crossing fingers).

I will say this though. I will NEVER go back to work at a restaurant. I worked at Little Caesars, Dairy Queen, and Newk's (it's a deli in the South) over the years, and I have had enough food experience to last me. Unless I was a manager and getting salary.

My dream job is to be either the main hero or villain in a super hero movie. Doubt it's going to happen, so I'm in school for poli-sci

I work in the family restaurant, been doing it for 2 years, i do a bit of everything, cooking, dishes, waitering. At first i just saw it as a job and that i didnt really fancy it as a career long term, but i have started getting interested in the preparation and now appreciate all the hard work that my parents have put into the business. Hopefully i stick it out.

Well, I'm in college, but I do actually have a job. My old high school football coach gave me a call one day and asked for me to go down and help out with his quarterbacks, since I played QB. I figured it'd be a one day deal, but he needed a QB Coach, and the players responded to what I was telling them. So, I'm a QB Coach/Assistant Coach on a high school football team. It's kind of weird since the kids at the high school still know me, but now I'm not a student. It's a fun job though. I was the best QB in my school's history, we were notoriously run heavy and when I came around we changed the offense, hell there's a banner at the stadium and it's the "Hall of Fame," and I'm on it. It's pretty cool I guess, since a lot of the people respect me for it. I'm very impatient with the QBs though, I blow up when they throw a pick. It's probably because I miss playing a lot, and I haven't quite let go of it, and I keep thinking that "if it were me, I wouldn't have done that." It's a great job, but it makes me miss playing quite a bit.

I work at a Personal Care Home. What I do is pretty much take care of people who aren't really capable of taking care of themselves. Cook them dinner, do their laundry, clean, and occasionally bathe them. Sometimes things get dirty and their is the occasional foot rub or clean up piss and shit. It isn't the greatest but the pay is pretty solid at 11 dollars an hour. I could see myself working there for a good time until I set my sights on whatever I truly want to be doing until the rest of my life.

As for what I'd like to do? I'm not quite sure. I love sports and would love to do something with them. Maybe broadcasting or something along those lines. Even if it was just local stuff it would be pretty cool.

I'm a Customer Service Manager at Kroger. I get paid $15.70 an hour to run the front end and make sure customers have a great check out experience(I can't be dealing with what goes on outside of my zone;that's asking too much.) I've been with Kroger since I was legally able to work, so about 3-4 years. I love my job, but my favorite part is the interaction. When it comes down to it, I'm just a people person and I really like getting to know my customers and friends(a.k.a my employee bitches). Often times people ask me why I don't get a better job, and I always say because I love mine and they think I'm being sarcastic. It's tough sometimes, but when you have a team like I do, there's never a dull moment. Add that to the fact that aside from me and two other guys, the rest of my roster is female, so it's even better because I hate talking to guys(except you boys,I love each and every one of you<3)

I work in San Francisco's Financial District for a software company. But I don't do the fun stuff the engineers do. I help out the accounting team with their finances. Using software like Excel, Quickbooks, etc to file invoices and stuff like that. I make $15.00 an hour and the majority of my money goes to my college tuition. The rest goes to train tickets for when I have to commute from home to school or work and then back. In fact, I can't remember ever treating myself to anything with the money I earn. Ah well. Anyway, the job itself is quite dull especially on days when I don't have school and I'm expected to stay for around nine to ten hours. But the job pays so I have little to complain about.

I've been at my current job working at the Brockville Fire Department for almost two years (plus one year as a part-time staff). Before that, I did volunteer firefighting for three years as well as worked for a Safety and Rescue company for two years.

I absolutely love everything about my job, from the training, to the shitty calls, to the hard fought fire calls. There is not one day that I dislike my prefession. It truely is the job that I dreamed of doing my entire life.

Other jobs that I think I would enjoy would be working at a movie rental store such as Jumbo Video, or a video game retailer like Gamestop, or serve coffee at a Starbucks.

I am a labourer and also tradesman on many building sites, usually starting at 7:30 AM and finishing at 5:30 PM, basically I just carry shite around, loads of bricks, up and down ladders, mixing up, digging footings for buildings, concreting, laying curbs, fencing, groundwork and all that. I am also a qualified bricklayer, so I often chip in and do that where its needed. It's hard work, but the people are hilarious, and the banter is great, it's all gay jokes, offensive racist comments and the necessary shouting at women walking past. So some of you sensitive shits wouldnt like it. Not to mention the pay, which is not to be sniffed at, providing you can hack it.

Although I've had a decent couple of weeks off, mainly because I am unemployed now.

I am a bagger at a local super market called Market Basket. I basically just bag the groceries and some days I'll get the carriages outside. It's not a particularly hard job but it gets pretty boring and tedious after a while, standing in the same place all day doing the same thing. There is a slight customer service aspect to it as well, my company prides itself on it's "customer satisfaction" so we have to interact with the customers.
I get payed $8.25 an hour at the moment but we get a 25 cent raise every six months.

I want to be a cartoon animator though. My dream would to have my own cartoon on any type of t.v. I'm going to college in the fall for it but I already have some experience in it. My High School was a Vocational school and my shop was Media Technology. The last two years in High School I pretty much spent my whole day making little animations and zombie/ninja movies with my friends. But having my own cartoon is pretty much as good as it get its to me.
