Will The Undertaker return before Wrestlemania 32?

With The Undertaker being mentioned in recent weeks to get a rise out of Kane I'm beginning to wonder if he'll return at Summerslam or maybe Survivor Series? I think it would be great to see some sort of Brothers of Destruction reunion. Not to mention the fact that Taker didn't appear on a single Raw before his match with Bray. He certainly looked more than able to work another match or two. So, does anyone else think we could see him before WM32?

Not likely but I suppose anything is possible. Question is: why? Just because he's been mentioned? Who would they face if they re-united? If not, who would 'Taker go one on one with? Kane's been done to death, regardless of whether or not he has his mask.

It would be terrific if he came around before WM32.....but why would he? He's got a pretty sweet deal going now, being paid heaven knows how much money to wrestle one match a year.

Plus, last year he made less appearances leading up to WM31 than ever before: one. He's always made some non-violent appearances to help build the gate in previous years, but this year he let Bray Wyatt handle all the public relations by himself.

Thinking back, I'm wondering if the reason WWE management chose Bray as 'Taker's opponent was because he was capable of doing all the promos by himself. In the weeks leading up to the event, I was pretty certain that this plan surely meant it was going to be Undertaker's last go-around. But after seeing how good he looked and how well he performed, I'm hoping he'll be back for WM32.

Still, will he show up before next April? My guess is no, although if he was encouraged by how well he performed in March, maybe he'll change his mind.

I can't picture him having a match but he will definitely be backstage for the RAW preceding his appearance on Stone Cold's podcast, so maybe an appearance then? Maybe he could have one last segment with Kane to bring that story full circle or they could use him like they did when they allowed The Shield to powerbomb him, i.e. give the young heels something to brag about. Other than that, I think he will return in Mania season to build his match.

I was originally thinking about a storyline where he would be a surprise challenger for Rollins at Survivor Series as part of a build to a potential WrestleMania showdown with Triple H and for Takers potential showdown with Sting. I thought it would be something like Roman screws Brock out of the title turning heel feuding with him and Seth moves on to the next challenger and retains in the rivalry. He would then think he is free of defending the title and go on a egotistical rant and Triple H tells him he is not because he has an opponent for Survivor Series. He say's his opponent is a legend, and icon,a former world champion and he will find out who his opponent is at Survivor Series.

At Survivor Series, Undertaker returns after moments of anticipating who Rollins opponent would be. This would also be fun for the fans trying to figure out whether it is Rock,Cena,Sting,Triple H himself,Batista,Orton,Undertaker,Jericho,a returning legend like Angle or Hardy. I would have had Undertaker have Rollins set up for the tombstone and as he goes to hit the move the lights go out and we hear the crow thing from Sting.

When the lights come back on the WrestleMania 32 logo is on the tron as Rollins rolls up Taker to retain and he runs from the ring. Undertaker would sit up and look at the tron to end the show.

The next night, It would be Undertaker appearing to address his shocking loss to Rollins. I would keep Sting and Taker apart until the night after Royal Rumble though. Both men would appear sporadically with Sting trying to get Taker to face him and Taker saying his answer is no. This becomes something like HBK/Taker feud. How Sting get's Taker to snap and say yes is by saying something along the lines of "of course you can let Kane and Paul Bearer down and be a big disappointment." Mainly, seeing how they have been doing a storyline with Kane getting upset with everyone talking about his family,it could work.

Meanwhile, Rollins cockiness would lead to Triple H snapping and costing him his title to John Cena or Roman Reigns to teach him a lesson.

This would lead to
Cena vs Reigns (WWE WHC)
Sting vs Taker (One Last Ride)
Triple H vs Rollins
Lesnar vs Orton or Orton (c) vs Wyatt for the IC Title
Owens (c) vs Bryan for the US Title

Only problem would be what happens to guys like Wyatt/or/Lesnar and Ambrose.

Short answer: No.

But I would like to see it, maybe he comes out to address his last match with Wyatt? and tells his side of the feud and they pick it up for one more WM and if the WWE has that much faith in Wyatt, maybe put Wyatt over for his first WM win in the rematch with UT???

I think he should make some sort of appearance, given that this year's Survivor Series falls exactly on the 25th anniversary of his WWE debut at the 1990 Survivor Series. I'm not sure in what capacity, but I think he should be there for something. Perhaps to set up his (presumably last) WM match or an early HOF induction announcement. I for one would be quite disappointed if Survivor Series came and went without an appearance from the Deadman.

This would be very cool as a Survivor-Series-related appearance.

As for WM, it's hard to imagine him appearing much before Mania, if at all. We learned this year that he's apparently not required for his own angles anymore.

I would hope so, but judging from this year where he made a staggering 0 appearances before Mania, I'm going to go with, no. It would be cool as hell to see Taker make an appearance for some reason (presumably to put Kane out of his misery), but he doesn't seem to want to or need to at this point.

Although considering his final match will most likely be at Mania next year, I can't see him just disappearing like he has in recent years. I don't see him appearing for a match but it's possible he'll show up a few times before and after Mania to give this last angle his all.

I'm expecting Taker to show up eventually, maybe around Summerslam, but I'm not expecting an official Brothers of Destruction reunion. Nor am I expecting any kind of match. I just expect Taker to have a segment with Kane that will eventually lead to his return as the Big Red Machine.

Taker is not going to show up until WM32. Really no reason for him to show up. And, if he did, what would he do once he was there? He would have to do some performing. And, he really does not have that ability to do that much of it anymore. In plain and simple English, he has become somewhat of a novelty act. Only showing up during WM. No reason to change that now.

I was hoping for maybe if Taker returns before WM32,it would be to tag up with Kane.
They've been teasing Kane..will he/won't he..on leaving The Authority,Let's say he finally does snap,HHH and Seth challenge him to a tag match.he chooses his "brother" comes back masked, big red machine....One last ride for the Brothers of Destruction,Kane can ride off into the sunset.

While that's possible, it really goes against what Undertaker has always been about. If ever there was a guy who goes it alone, it's him. In his significant matches and feuds, he doesn't do alliances, he doesn't collaborate, he doesn't cooperate. He goes after the guy who's bothering him.....and until Brock Lesnar, he defeats them.

The closest he's come in the past decade to doing what the other guy wanted was his second WM match against Shawn Michaels. ("You've been trying to get my attention. You've got it.")

The only reason I can see 'Taker tagging with Kane (or anyone) is if he feels he can't give his best in a singles match and needs a partner to make the match presentable.....and personally, I would think he'd choose to not perform at all if that was the case.

I feel as if there is something missing considering Lesnar broke the streak and all that, some kind of showdown between Lesnar & Taker would be nice before The Deadman retires.

Ideally, I would like to see Sting v Undertaker at Survivor Series, with the return match being at WrestleMania, for nostalgia sake I think it would be great to see these two face off, I don't want Sting to have one or two matches in WWE without at win, at the same time I don't want to see Undertaker have a match at WM for the sake of it.

You get paid X dollars a year. You only have to show-up to work once a year. Your employer is cool with that. Why would you double, triple, quadruple your workload when all you have to do is show up once a year? LOL.

Sorry, but I hope he doesn't come back. I was a huge Taker mark once upon a time, but please, just stay gone. I don't care about the "he's a legend and can hang it up whenever he sees fit" schmeel, because if he was such a great locker room leader that he's been made out to be then he'd be AROUND to help the younger guys. Instead, he just shows up once a year and collects his check, and nobody seems to have an issue with that in the internet community. He just continues to get a pass. He might have meant something to a locker room or a company long ago, but now he's nothing more than a part time player. But, like I said -- his boss is cool with him coming around once a year -- I mean, hell, if the real world was like that then I'm sure many of us would do the same.

I agree with your post 1000% percent. Dude is WAY past his prime, he hasn't given a good match at WM since CM Punk, and in a way he is really becoming this generation's Hulk hogan - ie, show up, do the minimal amount of work possible, get his check and then disappear until next year.

People have correctly pointed out that he is over-rated as a leader because a true leader would want to be around assisting the locker room, etc.. His loyalty to Vince has finally correctly came in to question since Kevin Nash admits that Taker was talking to WCW around 2000 and that is why he tried out the "American Badass" Character.

I respect the Undertaker but i sort of wish he would just retire. Breaking the streak made no sense whatsoever and i wonder if Vince regrets that decision now....

I respect your opinion, but see it differently. For one thing, the contest with Punk was in 2013 and the only other match he'd fought before WM31 was with Brock Lesnar. Yes, 'Taker lost but I thought he gave a fine performance. Of course, that's a matter of opinion, but I also felt he gave a terrific performance against Bray Wyatt; far better than I believed a man in his condition could give.

As to the 'locker room leader' claim, Mark Calaway has given everything he's had to give WWE since 1990. He's performed far longer than most other wrestlers....and suffered injuries to his body that would put most people on permanent disability, I would suspect. But instead of retiring completely, he still gives us one match a year, which is good for his fans, his company and himself. If he negotiated with WCW somewhere along the line....fine. He wound up staying here for two-and-a-half decades and earning the right to perform once a year. If doing business in this manner means he can't be around the locker room as a leader anymore, than so be it. The guy gave years to leading others.

Personally, I'd rather have him doing business this this way than having no Undertaker at all.

How many Brothers of Destruction reunions do we need?.. There's no need for Undertaker to ever show up again, until he's inducted to the WWE HOF.

Undertaker should retire because there's no talents on the roster he could face where it would be intriguing, and after every match he seems to be really hurt..Retiring would be the best thing for Taker before he ends up crippled.

Actually he hasn't given a good match at WrestleMania since Triple H. That match with Punk was average, which is below Taker's standards.

i have a better shot at winning the lotto than we have at seeing undertaker again before wm32.

face it, dude is a wm attraction now.

wm 32 should b his final match though. followed by Hof induction
