Will Someone Break The Damn Masterlock?!

Definitely not a Chris Master's fan. The Masterlock has to be the worst finisher on RAW--it's a freakin full-nelson. What's next--a headlock?

I know the full nelson is an extremely boring move. But have someone apply it to you and it's quite painful. Necks have been broken in the past due to full nelsons being applied. Plus, Masters doesn't do just a normal "let-me-look-at-you-while-you-pretend-you're-in-pain" type submission. He's swinging his opponent. It's not the greatest finisher, but honestly - it makes a lot more sense than a lot of guys' finishers nowadays

the full nelson is a dangerous move to do It has been banned in ametur wrestling and mma so that good for masters that the wwe wrestlers trust him

Hogan? Hogan? He needs to retire and stay gone. There's only one person that should break it, and that's Chuck Norris.

I believe that it will be broken. It is also a slightly modified full nelson. so as to make it stronger than a full nelson. You know how he holds up his arms linking his fists interlocking that is what the grip on that hold is doing, not the normal full nelson where the fingers are laced. Anyway i do agree tha he needs to add a new finisher. (don't get mad at me for saying this.) Cena added the STF-U to his repetoire as an addition to the F-U, masters should do the same but in reverse.

Also The Masterlock is not the worst finisher. That "honour" goes to Scotty too Hotty's, Worm. You know it don't look good.

ummm... I agree Hogan should retire and stay gone but I'd rather see him break it than fuking gay ass chuck Norris, Chuck Norris sucks, always has, always will, and why the hell would Chuck Norris ever step foot into the WWE to take on the Masterlock challenge anyway? besides isn't he dead or is that just his career. Fuck Chuck Norris

Dude ... one would think that Chuck Norris stole your car or something, LOL. But I agree with you there. He could have been a respectable martial arts expert had he stuck with it, but he became an actor that appeared in tons of cheesy movies and shows, among them the frequently ridiculed Walker Texas Ranger. In general, Caucasians just don't make good martial arts film/TV stars - same goes for Jean Claude Van Damme.

Chuck Norris won't be brought in to break the Masterlock. He's 50-something or older and pretty much retired. One of Vinnie Mac's favorite musclemen will be brought in to take the Challenge and be the first one to break it - either Batista or Bobby Lashley.

that's SO going into my sig! LMAO I nearly choked to death laughing!

my vote for worse finisher: Piper's sleeper

I thought Cena broke the hold... didn't he?

Triple H should just come out one week and break it, Pedigre Masters and move on... "Holy cow, you crapped a masterpiece!"

Ha ha! I just wanted to see how much hate Norris would get- besides, how old do you think Hogan is? That whole post was based on a poster I saw some dude holding up at the WWE tapings a while ago in Orlando. I wouldn't be surprised if they let Umaga do it or Ric Flair, because for some reason people love Ric Flair. God, I hope it's not Triple H. Every time I look at him I see him jobbing for the Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania.

everyone has to start somewhere... HHH started jobing to Ultimate Warrior... looking back, do you think he'd come this far? not I... serriously, I didn't see it... but there's a lot of backstage stuff that goes into a guy getting big... I don't see Masters getting to HHH's level with the Masterlock... they should have Flair do it, because Flair is Flair and will look to the East and kick to the West WHOOO! :headbanger: there needs to be a 4 Horsemen smiley... :(

Co-sign. I still have nightmares about Too Cool and their Vanilla Ice impressions and Rikishi shaking his mammoth ass. Uggh.

As for the topic, The Masterlock is what is holding Masters' career up right now. The hold is over and hasn't been cleanly broken, so doing that at this point would spell certain doom for Chris. Even if he is jacked up juice monkey. They have someone break that hold and his aura will deflate like a popped balloon.

On the Christmas 2006 "Tribute to the Troops" event, a brave United States Army Soldier, Staff Sergeant José Avila, broke free from the Master Lock with help from Santa Claus (JBL). Though he could be considered the first person to break the hold, he did not do it under his own power as JBL kicked Masters from behind, allowing Avila to break the hold. After Masters released Avila, JBL then hit Masters with his Clothesline from Hell. On the January 15, 2007 edition of RAW, Masters announced that Avila's win was not official.

At the start of 2007, Masters would restart his feud with Carlito which would lead to several matches between the two. The first was a single match at New Year's Revolution 2007; which Masters won. In a rematch on RAW, Carlito came out victorious. On the January 15th edition of Monday Night Raw, Ron "Farooq" Simmons became the first man to break the Master Lock.

On the January 15, 2007 edition of RAW, Ron Simmons, with interference from Super Crazy, became the second superstar to "win" the Master Lock Challenge (though it is still considered unbroken).

This is another gimmick that has to come to an end sooner or later, otherwise his career is never going to flourish. If it wasn't broken, he would have to keep with this gimmick for most of his career. Once it's broken, he will give everyone a true test of how he can build a heel career outside of the Masterlock. To be honest, I think they have really overpushed this move. It is just a standard wrestling manoeuvre that a character simply should not be built around. It's all he has going for him so taking it away from him may have an adverse effect rather than him proving he is more than just one move. I think the WWE is punishing his juicing incidents by slowly killing the hype that surrounds the full nelson. I think he's a good wrestler who needs to stay away from the move and concentrate more on developing his masterpiece character (without the aid of steroids) and his mic ability.

^It'll be difficult for him to work without juicing. It was evident the last time he came back without cycling the stuff. He was slower, had much less strength and speed, and was just clueless-looking in the ring. He needs to get clean and go back down to OVW to rework his whole scheme and learn how to develop his body in a clean fashion if he ever hopes to have any physical longevity in the business. His offensive repertoire could also use some tweaking. He has the basic tools necessary, but is a prime candidate for refinement. It's funny, but the Masterlock is just The Warlord's old finisher with a better marketing blitz. Masters could really use a new finisher that is more of a high-impact slam or something of that nature. That way when someone cleanly breaks The Masterlock down the pike he doesn't have to completely rely on it, but instead can have a couple of finishers like Masato Tanaka did.

I think that the only way Masters will ever get over in the business is to get rid of the Masterpiece gimmick. It's holding him back from his true potential. He has decent mic skills, and decent in ring skills. With a bit of improvement he could be a major player in the WWE in a couple of years. Hopefully the Masterlock will be broken cleanly soon, and then Masters can go to OVW and repackage himself.

No he didn't. The only person that broke is (unofficially) was the soldier in Iraq. HBK came close, Cena came close, Ron Simmons came close, but it hasn't been broken yet.

the master lock is not ment to be broken...the time when its suppose to be broken will be the time master end his carreer..with the WWE or when he change into a new gimick..

I think they should have Masters offer up the challenge to anyone in the back and then have Harry Smith (Bulldogs son) come out and break the lock. Then they can feud and along the way Masters can enlist help from TWGTT and Harry Smith can then bring in TJ Wilson and Teddy Hart to feud with them to form the new Hart Foundation. Harry Smith is legitimately bigger than Masters and that would be a great feud.

No one should break it. It will kill his gimmick. But if its just about whos strong enough to break it, then... i guess some serious strong ppl. Exp. Undertaker, Big Show, Great Khali and maybe even the "Worlds Strongest Man" Mark Henry

I hate that stupid gimmick. It just takes time on RAW. I doubt anybody likes to see a masterlock challenge rather than seeing a quality match. Masters should let ANYBODY break it. At this point, i just want the gimmick to die because it does nothing for him. What they thought was going to be a major push for him, turned out to put him lower on the card. It doesn't do anything for him especially that he's so young. He has a long time left in the WWE but if they continue this, nobody will want to see him. He also needs to train some more and become a better wrestler.

I'm thinking that Masters will challenge JBL to take the Masterlock challenge, I'm thinking he might be the guy that breaks it

Tommy Tsunami is correct. HBK actually DID break it. But he broke it by outsmarting him with a rope break by sliding himself over the top rope. I believe this thread should be more accurately named "has anyone powered out of the masterlock yet?".
