Will Monty Brown Ever Come Back To WWE?

CM Steel

A REAL American
One of the few TNA ship-jumpers Monty Brown debuted in the WWE under the name "Marcus Cor Von" in 2007 on the now defunct ECW brand. He was a strong force! He was the muscle in the New Breed faction with the Pope as a strong leader. And Brown even got the wrestle at Wrestlemania 23 in his hometown of Detriot, MI in front of a sellout crowd.

But months later Monty Brown's sister passed away from cancer and requested a release from the WWE to take care of her kids. In which I can respect with being an uncle. But as the children get older, will we ever get to see Monty Brown (or Marcus Cor Von) pounce someone again in a WWE ring in the future?

I guess only time will tell.

I highly doubt it!! Marcus Cor Von has been gone too long 5 plus years now out of the business!! I would think at this point if he wanted to come back into some form he would have!! Taking care of his nieces or nephews is respectable and i admire him for that!! I think hes happy doing that family comes first above all

I hope not. I thought he was horrible. Just my opinion, and I don't remember anything he did that would warrant any sort of investment in him. With how WWE thinks, it's not like they're thin at African American talent. They have Mark Henry, R-Truth, Kofi Kingston, and David Otunga appearing regularly in prominent roles on TV. And Monty Brown isn't even close to a name that draws. I doubt anyone even remembers who he is (go ahead, raise your hand and rage random internet fan).

gee, what a random thread. Simply put, No, I dont see Brown returning to WWE or TNA for that matter.
Wrestling has passed him by, nobody would really care if he returned. He was not over in the slightest in WWE, and nobody missed him when he left

5 years on, doubtful.

Monty wasn't WWE's mold, he was TNA's and when he moved to WWE they had a hard time trying to reinvent him and it failed, and the death in his family which ultimately lead to his release (upon request) pretty much sealed the deal.

Some guys are cut out for wrestling, Monty enjoyed the TNA rota, wrestling every other week or two, WWE is harsh on a wrestler but they know this when they sign up.

LOL why in the motherfuck would he??? So him and his creepy stupid short little arms and shitty theme music can drain the last bits of will to live out of a few more suicides??? My fucking goodness, one of the most heatless, meaningless, shitty WWE runs I can ever remember. From the braden walker stable. Whatever he is doing right now, WHATEVER he is doing, is much more meaningful than anything he would be doing iin the wwe. Please never come back. Please.

It's a shame what happened to him, he had a lot of potential and for a time really was becoming a big star in TNA. As I remember it his brother or sister died and he took on their kids (which is an amazing thing to do) which meant he felt he could no longer be "on the road". Hell of a decision to have to make, but nothing but respect for him for doing it.

Rather than diss the guy I'd rather celebrate him as someone who did ok in the biz, got out when the time was right and isn't likely to become another tragic story.

Could he come back? Sure, if he was in shape I am sure TNA would have him back for a short run... to WWE, no, he wouldn't merit a reduced schedule and other than a guest spot in a Rumble (which there are "bigger names" can do) I doubt we'd see him.

Nah, not in the WWE. He wasn't over in his run as Marcus Cor Von and is now half-a-decade older so I don't see WWE ever having much interest in him.

TNA? Maybe.....but even that is a stretch. How long has it been since he was Monty Brown in TNA? 6? 7 years maybe? He was over there, but he was never a big name and the promotion has moved on so much since then. 90% of the TNA fans probably wouldn't even recognise him or remember him if he came back, similarly how very few gave a fuck when Chris Harris (who was far better than Brown in his TNA run) came back for a 1 off appearance.

So, I doubt it. I could see Brown wrestling again on the indies as "The Alpha Male" but I strongly doubt we will be seeing him in WWE or TNA again. unless he is in incredible shape and someone remembers him and pushes him for a spot.

There's no reason WWE should even want him back. The guy was horrible in TNA and he was horrible in WWE. I just never saw anything remotely special about the guy in the time I saw him compete in either company.

It's been roughly half a decade since we've seen the guy and, quite frankly, there are a ton of wrestlers currently on the main roster and in FCW that are vastly more talented with far more to offer than Monty every dreamed of.

Thats a bit harsh Norcal, the kid was on ECW, the brand in which VKM held the world title in. What could they have possibly of done with him in ECW. Nobody did good in that brand except Punk and everyone knew he was going to make it anyways.

I thought MCV was solid, with a little bit of work he could of become a really good upper midcarder wrestler. He had the athletic ability as well as the intimidating look which is good for both faces and heels. I really hope he comes back but then again I doubt he will.

I thought Marcus Cor Von was a good and wasted talent in the WWE, he was put on ECW, and everyone knows the success rate of starting out on ECW isn't very high with the only exception being CM Punk, of course as 'Khalifa' pointed out. He was a great heel in TNA and if given the time, he could have been a even better heel in the WWE.

He's like 41 now.. That's old for someone to make a return after missing 5 years so the chance of him even coming back to wrestling let alone the WWE is very low.. But i'll admit, i would love to see him come back, because his finisher the Pounce always looked good and actually looked painful unlike half of the finishers in the WWE today. I would rather take him over a superstar like David Otunga who has zero talent any day.

well, i for one, liked Monty Brown's character in WWE, he didnt have much heat, but i blame that on how WWE built him more than on Brown because it's not like they let him loose on the mic. during his run, he was mostly a muscle for Elijah Burke and Burke was supposed to get more heat because he's the guy on the mic. anyways, i dont see him back in wwe. if he wouldve came back, he would've been back a long time ago. maybe later he will go back to TNA, but i dont see him in WWE again, too long of a schedule.

Doubt it, but it's not impossible. He honestly wasn't that great of a wrestler or character in TNA or ECW, although his "Pounce" finisher is still a running joke between my wrestling fan friends and I. He's getting up in age now and has moved on and is taking care of his nephews in the wake of his sister's death, which is very admirable. Hope he's doing alright.

Only reason I would want him to return is for his finisher. That looked awesome. I'm sure if it was given to Skip or big Zeke, it would look just as cool, if not better.
Aside from that, there's no reason for him to return. It's not because I hate the guy. He just doesn't fit in.

I've long since felt he should have come into WWE under the MVP gimmick. For those that don't remember MVP came into WWE as the hottest "free agent" and they were desperately trying to sign him... only problem was no one had ever heard of him before then. I always felt that suited Monty Brown much better.

Now to answer the post's question of whether or not he should return to WWE. I agree with what a few others have said on why would they want him? He was practically a no name and didn't get the heat that WWE thought he would get and Bobby Lashley ultimately became the "big black monster". My first instinct was that he would be better suited in Impact, but honestly I feel Impact is becoming oversaturated with talent for a mere 2 hours worth of programming each week and there are others currently on the roster that aren't getting utilized that I would rather see on Impact then him.

Wow, monty is a better man than most anyone I have ever met. He has the charisma but always got the raw end of character development.

Do I see him back? No, but that is his choice. I saw him this morning, 41, bad knee and all there aren't many athletes in the wwe that even come close.

If he was let loose it would be fun to see, but I don't think that will happen.

2 problems,
One problem, he isnt from detroit.
Other problem, norcals mom passed up the abortion.
