Breaking News: Marcus Cor Von Fired

Not at all surprised about the release. But I am surprised that they never gave him a huge push. He's big and charismatic. Which is more than Lashley is. His wrestling abilities are minimal but most WWE main eventers are like that. And I thought that WWE would capitalise on the fact he's appeared in Super Bowls. But no. They change his name to something that wouldn't catch on. And they stick him on a brand that already had there token big black guy.

I'm disappointed that we are 27 post into this thread and no one has brought up that the WWE is racist? What the hell is wrong with you people. If this was Shleton Benjamin or Cryme Tyme, the Race Card gets thrown around, but no, the poor Alpha Male isn't worthy of racism.

Anyways, onto topic. I'm surprised as well that he didn't get a monster push, but whose to say he wasn't lined up for one before this whole incident happened.
The guy hasn't been on TV for what, 3 months now. I'm surprised they kept him around this long. He was doomed from the beginning with a shit name like Marcus Cor Von, what the hell was up with that.

Plus, I think this might be a rude wake up call for anyone thinking about jumping from TNA to the WWE. So it might end up being more important behind the scenes then we realize.

Sorry Shockmaster, but I have to disagree with the so-called "race card". Cryme Time were fired, and it had nothing to do with race. Booker T quit (presumably) and that had nothing to do with race. If race were an issue, then I am sure that these released performers would be shutting WWE down for good.

There are plenty of non-white performers. I did point out in an earlier post how I believe that WWE has a proven track record of mis-using and even burying talent acquired from other promotions. Monty isn't the first TNA talent hired, not utilized and let go or they just simply quit.

I expected him to get the ECW title quite quickly and i was very exited about him coming to wwe but i guess his family matters are tearing him up. i think he was talented and its a shame he didnt get the push he deserved

Who cares, none of the current young ECW performers would have made it in the "Original Hardcore ECW"!!!!! The misused him anyway, they could have given him a better character.

Wow, can I start off be saying how bad this sucks? I was a huge Cor Von mark and was excitied for his comeback. I never foresaw a release, because I thought Vince would have more emotion. I dont know if Cor Von asked for his release or not but all I know is the WWE lost a great performer. Whoever said Cor Von sucks needs to tell me who doesnt then, because even if you dont like him, you cant deny his in-ring skills were great.

Whatever really makes him happy is what matters though, right? Like, yea, TNA is pretty good, and dont think im bashing it here, but who as a kid would watch wrestling and say "I wanna be a TNA wrestler, mommy." Not to change topics here, but isnt TNA really just turning into a new WWE? Think about it, it doesnt focus on the "little guys" as much as guys that are more "ripped" (with the exception of CM Punk). AJ Styles as fodder? Come on, he used to be one of the companies biggest draws, but, now that they have more money, they can afford to pay guys like sting and kurt angle, which, in turn, will give them even more payola, for them to push farther and farther away anyone 215 lbs and under. Sad, really, but, for Cor Von this isnt a problem. He is bigger, and he is more "ripped." He can really go one of two ways in TNA, get the Jeff Hardy/Christian Cage, be pushed heavily for the first year or two, then, slowly get pushed OUT of the limelight. OR he can get...the alternate route? which would be get pushed somewhat, make his way up, stay there for a while, and keep fading in and out of the title picture. Comments on what you guys think will happen?

btw have mercy on me, im only 14 and im just speaking my thoughts.

No I will not have mercy on you. I'm going to spank you like a Catholic Priest! Naw kid, just kidding. I'll go easy on you. lol

This is what you have to take into effect with the whole TNA way of thinking. Now WCW made the blueprint of success when they did the whole push big established names thing. Cuz, while real wrestling fans like you and me appreciate homegrown talent, the average wrestling fan only knows the big names. And this is a big thing when it comes to establishing yourself in the market. You wouldn't go and headline a nobody with talen if you owned a Las Vegas Casino. No, you would pay the money for the old washed up guys that people know cuz that will get asses in seat and viewers for your product. You take the Angles and these other guys and push em for a bit and then use em as talent enhancement to bring up your homegrown guys. It's what they did in the WWE when WCW seemed to be signing anybody and everybody. They jobbed buys like Macho and Hogan out of the door and then used the guys that went over on them to headline. It establishes guys as legit and not just flukes. I mean nobody would care if Monty Brown went over CM Punk. But people's heads would turn if he went over Sting or Angle. Plain and simple atention getter kid.

I believed in Marcus Cor Von,he was the future,i was hoping that he would compete for the ECW title and actually win the belt then maybe next year get traded to Raw or Smackdown! and fued with the main eventers stars like Batista,Cena,Undertaker,Triple H and more. then he got released,i was shocked. hope he comes back one day.

I thought he could win the ECW title and go to smackdown and win the US hed make a great feud with Lashley on Raw as well, the best finisher i have seen in ages the pounce is so devestating to watch cuts opponents in half. He was a great competitor as well, he had the skills to go far in the WWE and had a great promo when he first joined, i hope he returns to wrestling and chooses WWE because he is a great wrestler i hoped that we would see him one day be WWE champion.

BtW i thought hed make great mid card on Raw, he needed time to develope into a wrestler that could hold the WWE title it takes time, in no way do i want another Lashley i just think using ECW to slingshot a guy to main event is stupid.

TNA will get back to focusing on the x division guys again trust me they are just getting WWE guys to get noticed, they no how to use these WWE guys anyway but dont get me wrong TNA has a lot of problems with storylines and PPVs right now so lets hope they can get there act together and make a solid 2 hour show i think this will straighten them out and in no way do i not like WWE it has great talent it just needs to use them better, id love for these shows to co exist and i like both of them.
