Will Chris Masters ever be.... Anything?

I've never really liked Masters. He has the look of a main eventer but his in ring and mic skills just aren't that great. He had his big push during his first run but he fucked that up because of an addiction to pain killers that sent him to rehab. His second run was still moderately successful but again he fucked it up by violating the WWE's drug policy. Now he's nothing more then a comedy guy/jobber. The peck thing was funny a few times but got old quick. Maybe if he gets repackaged something could happen but I wouldn't be surprised to find him in the unemployment line within the next few months.

A lot of guys out there go through a long season of jobber hell in order to prove they can be depended on. Don't look at this as meaning Chris Masters release is inevitable. (Although in his position, he's one mistake away from being released- you always are at that level. It's a good incentive to work hard.)

He's young and I think he has a lot to offer the WWE in the future. But right now it seems they want him to go through a rough time so they know that they can depend on him, and he's not depending on things ending in -ol or -one.

When Chris Masters first debuted I was high on him. He had a great look and the use of the Full Nelson which would go on to be dubbed the "Master Lock" was a nice touch, but then it pretty much fizzled out.

I think I can pinpoint the exact moment in which it all began down hill; and while most think its when he got suspended, I would say it was before then. That moment would be at Tribute For The Troops 2006.

Now Chris Masters was going strong up until this point, and no one had yet to break his Master Lock. Tonight he decided to do it to Santa Claus, to gain extra heat. He beat Santa and then called out a soldier. The soldier subsequently broke his master lock, and while he did strike it from the record the following night the damage had been done. The move had lost its luster, and Lashley breaking it was more of a formality.

Now of course later on Chris Masters would go on to be busted for steroids and be suspended, returning much smaller. After his return Triple H made a joke at his expense about him losing "50 pounds in a month" or something along those lines; and while Triple H more or less burying him didn't help, it was more or less the nail in the coffin to his credibility.

Now as to why WWE hasnt tried to build him back up after his most recent return is beyond me, its still possible, but the fact they have him losing on Superstars and even took away the whole pec flex thing is kind of stupid for someone that has the potential to be at least a solid midcarder.

Edit: Cant seem to get the video to work

Moderator Note - I fixed your video for you. -Dave.

Will he be anytihng? No. Masters is an OK worker. No major complaints there, but he isn't good enough to justify the risks. In his first run he served two almost back to back suspensions, and got fired before he failed a third piss test.

Now, I believe that previous 'strikes' for the WWE Wellness policy carry over, and ask yourselves, would you give a push to a man who is one piss test away from the door? He's in the same position as Jeff Hardy with one key difference. Jeff was over as fuck and a massive draw. Masters is neither of those two things. He's simply not worth the risk of a third failed test.

EDIT: Fury, you only put in the series of numbers and leters after the v= not the whole url.

This is what happens when an otherwise untalented kid gets called up based on his pharmacologically enhanced looks –and then subsequently gets told he can't use said substances and therefore loses everything that got him hired in the first place. Now he's stuck developing talents he never had and may in fact not even possess and is in a ridiculous game of playing catch-up. It's a shame (sorta) but it is what it is.

He'll either sink or swim and if he's smart he's been keeping clean and saving for the eventual day WWE says they no longer have need of his limited services. Or, perhaps by some miracle he'll find a spot that works for him and develop something that he can actually excel at and force WWE to see the potential profit in him. If that latter senario turns out to be the case, well then good for him, he really dodged a bullet.

Masters was good as a heel but I think him and Swagger should team up. Why you ask? I having no freaking clue but I already thought of a team name The American Masterpiece. what do you guys think?

I honestly don't see Masters going anywhere. I was surprised when he showed up on RAW that night to face MVP but I don't really find him going anywhere.
